Weird graphics glitch since campaign came out

Thanks SeaTrane, that fixed it. No idea what that is or how it is suddenly different than before the campaign came out, but no more problems with that now. Also, thanks for the suggestion Furret. Would have tried that next. -
Hey everyone, ARMA 3 has been fine graphically (other than optimization issues and FPS) for me since alpha, but now I'm having a pretty impressively bad graphical glitch. I have only seen this since the campaign came out and the patch that came with that. All plants and terrain objects now have this odd blue/white outline around it whenever I get within a certain distance. This doesn't apply to vehicles or units for some reason, just foliage. Check out the screenshot below to see what I mean. I can definitely play through the game with it doing this, but it is rather ugly and distracting to the overall experience. Anyone seen anything similar? Didn't see anything on it in the forums. Hey all, I have a question about side chat. First off feel free to point me to any links to anything that explains side chat and how to use it. I tried to look it up on Biki but it says pretty much nothing. I also searched on this forum and ArmaHolic and found nothing. Anyways im just trying to set up a trigger, well a bunch of triggers, that says on the radio "Hostiles spotted on the west side of town" or something like that. Sidechat looked like the way to do it but I couldn't figure it out. I also found some Dialog Managers but they had no documentation about how to use them and were pretty complicated. Im just trying to do a whole bunch of triggers like the one previously mentioned, which seem simple but I have no idea how to set that up. Thanks in advance to any who respond.

Hey, I know that title is vague but I have a mission where I am using UPS Patrol Script http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=6053 and it works great with soldiers but not Civilians. Let me clarify, Civilians also work great under this script until they come anywhere near any military units. As soon as they near military they stop and the script seems to fail, even without the script I noticed they will not follow waypoints near military units and just stop and cower. Does anyone know a way to make them go on with their business around military? Unless people are shooting and firing. A soldier walking by 20 meters away should not make them cower and hide..its weird.

That sounds pretty tough. I tried before to make a timer and then link a helicopter extraction to a specific time while having a timer displayed for all players that counted down till the heli came but I couldn't get it to work.

My 2nd attempt ended in the transport heli exploding 5 seconds after dropping off my squad and killing everyone but me and one other, who are left horribly wounded. I will make a third attempt soon =)

Played this one a little bit and got killed without figuring out who was shooting me. Friendlies starting firing and then half my squad was instantly dead. Was fun up until there though =). I'll work on it some more and give you a opinion.

I have one that is almost done, that is about 40 defending USMC AI in the middle of the huge town on the south coast. Getting attacked by 100+ Russians. Fairly large scale, if it was bigger it would cause large performance issues. It already causes some small performance issues with bodies littering the landscape and wrecks.

The only success I've had now is that I made the helicopter start from the ground, instead of in AIR, and for some reason that makes it work and actually fly and do everything. For some reason though, it is being very questionable about the checking for players being dead or alive. I've had half my squad get in it and then it takes off and whenever it does something weird like that it just flys in random directions till it stops and hovers. I've only got it to work once and fly the right direction...I am stilling using the dostop command and that is working fine..just..everything after that is being dumb. ---------- Post added at 12:02 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:01 AM ---------- I'll try that PJ because its being very sketchy on that part with the big long script. (long since I have 8 units in my squad) -

I don't know if it has errors. The first time I did it, it worked perfectly. Once I move the helicopter's intial start point it apparently decided not work anymore..I hate how finicky things are in this game. -

So the first time I used this guide it worked perfectly and then I tried to create three helicopters using it and now none of them work. I even deleted them all and made a new one in a attempt to make one working one again. So I have a Seahawk, as suggested, in the Air above the ocean with Helicopter flyinheight 85 its initialization. I then have a move point very close to the helicopter and the next waypoint is a load waypoint on a helipad and the load waypoint has dostop Helicopter;Helicopter land "land" in its on act. My next waypoint is a move waypoint very near the helipad and it has this ((!alive B1) OR (B1 in helicopter)) AND ((!alive B2) OR (B2 in helicopter)) AND ((!alive B3) OR (B3 in helicopter)) AND ((!alive B4) OR B4 in helicopter) AND ((!alive B5) OR (B5 in helicopter)) AND ((!alive B6) OR (B6 in helicopter)) AND ((!alive B7) OR (B7 in helicopter)) AND ((!alive B8) OR (B8 in helicopter)) in its condition box. Any idea what im doing wrong? The first time I followed it, it worked great. Now I can't figure it out. -
I haven't tested it yet but what they were suggesting to me shoudl do the trick. Considering it broadcasts from a unit not specifically the player. I will let you know.

Does it only get said to the one unit you specify? Or can it show to all Bluefor or Opfor? Something like a Radio Message displaying to all Bluefor that Opfor are attacking from the North.

What is up with the timeout thing? I've done 600 which is supposed to be 10 minutes and the freakin thing just sits there and never moves, a heli that is supposed to be taking off. I've done 100, which must be 2 minutes, and I've had them either do nothing at all or just ignore it and move on..anyone get it? I've been looking for some kind of documentation or previous forum subject on it for the last 2 hours but nothing. -

Hey guys, sorry if this is somewhere but I searched a bunch on this forum and ARMAHolic and their mission editor FAQ and could find nothing for what I am looking for. I am making a defense mission where you have to defend a certain area of a town and I want to add a timer for how long you need to hold out until and then when the timer is reached I would like that to trigger a helicopter coming and landing and *SOMEHOW* waiting for the player/players to get in and then it takes off and the mission ends with some kind of awesome job message or whatever lol. I found this for a timer http://www.ofpec.com/forum/index.php?topic=33457.0 but I have no idea how to link it. Anyone got any idea's? Sounds pretty complicated to me, I've seen a thread on a helicopter extraction but not one thats linked to a timer. Help on any of this would be greatly appreciated. Also that timer download I found pretty much has no instructions on how to use it..anyone know a different one? -

I would love to see some tools for ARMA 2 that help with editing. There are tons for ARMA but few of them are unconverted and the couple that are have no documentation and are very difficult to use unless you have used them before or are very good with scripting. Mainly I see a lot of people, and myself, really needed help with some basic scripting stuff for missions..like briefing editors, tasks, camera, radio chat, side chat. -

SO I have a question. If you are creating missions does this have any effect on them? Let me clarify..will others need to download this as well if it is a MP mission because the mission for some reason will think it is required and give them a error if they do not have it? Also does it affect FPS? -

Thanks for the response, I will try this and see how it works. I wasn't sure how to work the timers, tried a trigger before set to 10, 10 and 10 and it didn't go off at 10 minutes so I figured there was something more to that. -

Anyone got any idea's for this? I'm not so worried about the visibile timer anymore, can't find anything for that, more just about having a helicopter coming and picking up the players and then waiting for all players to get in, unless they die, and then takes off and the players have no control over it. -

I haven't had time to try it yet but, I was hoping more for something that made a helicopter land at the same spot and give the player no control of where its going. It would work if you could control it, assuming the player obeyed the directions but I could see lots of problems ..like what would happen if the player called for it far away from the area they are defending and it got shot down. I was thinking the easiest and best way to have a helicopter that waits for the player to get in, and all other players *mission is 4 player coop*, and then take off and go straight towards the aircraft carrier in Chernarus, because they are supposed to be evacuating. That probably wouldn't be difficult on its own but I'm very unsure as to how to make it linked to a timer and how to make the helicopter wait until the players get in and then take off. -
