Not able to connect to a specific server ip
inque replied to inque's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
Thanks for the tip Savage, but I have found the solution to my issue! Here's how I solved the problem: If your ISP provided you a modem which is also a router at the same time, assuming you'll be using your own router, after making sure the Modem is set to birdge mode, make sure to disable DHCP for both ipv4 and ipv6. I also made sure my MTU values on my router were compatible for my ISP. You can ask your ISP for which MTU setting it should be on, or just try to Google it Sorry for the vague description of my solution, but then again, I feel that this was a very unique case on my end. Hope this helps! -
My friend is has a dedicated Arma 3 server hosted by Hypernia (aka Pure Pings), but for some reason, I'm not able to fully connect to his server. I can join into the lobby, but I will be stuck on the lobby with a message "receiving data". I've tried joining other servers on the server browser list and I'm able to just join fine (connect and actually play) I've tried to troubleshoot the issue by trying to connect to the server with my DSL modem directly connected to my PC (bypassing the router), and for some strange reason, I was able to connect and join no problems. Does anyone know if there is a particular setting on the router that I should look for that will allow me to connect? I've tried forwarding ports 2302-2305, but with no avail. I have also tried putting my PC into DMZ mode, but still wasn't able to connect as well. My router is an Asus RT-AC68U Hoping you guys can help me solve this issue! Thanks in advance!

(Solid teamwork was produce with ACE+ACRE) (Copy pasta from our site blog informing everyone that our server is now on ACE and ACRE. Apologies if it sounds dumbed down on ACE and ACRE) With after much deliberation with the community, we finally agreed that the we were ready for the A.C.E. mod. For those who aren't familiar with the ArmA II community, A.C.E. stands for Advanced Combat Environment. It's a total conversion mod that adds another layer of realism to an already realistic game. They have a whole set of features listed on their wiki page. It seems intimidating at first, but once you dive in and try it out, it makes sense after a while. In conjunction with A.C.E., we also are trying our hand at A.C.R.E. (hooray another acronym). A.C.R.E. stands for Advanced Combat Radio Environment. It simulates in-game communications with real-world radios and their real-world limitations. Drop us a line at this thread if you're interested in joining us! We encourage players from the Southeast Asian region to experience some mil-sim madness. Currently we got players over from Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines and even an Australian joining in the fun. If you need some technical assistance on setting up all these mods up, we got some pretty comprehensive guides or you can drop by in the Steam chatroom and the OMGeeks available will get you sorted out. -

Our community has just started using ACRE today and first of all I would just like to saw how cool everything sounds! I got a question though, is there a way to force the TS server to transmit everything via ACRE only? I mean, what stops from the other players transmitting directly to TS3 (and potentially killing some immersion) Just wondering if there was a workaround for this, for potential members who are hard-headed on not using ACRE as in-game comms EDIT: Scratch that, just figured it out when more people came into the server with TS on. PTT on TS acts like direct communication in-game. Neat feature! -
Multi-Session Operations v4.3 released

I noticed in this MSO thread that the instruction for using mso/mso_uids.txt is no longer listed? Does that mean server admins no longer need to use that text file for assigning permissions / privileges to be pilots or crew? -

Maybe BIS can also consider Steam Workshop as a means for delivering maps and mods in ArmA III? It would definitely make it easier for people to manage mods and maps -

First time running an ARMA 2 server, need some tips / advise
inque posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA - Servers & Administration
Hi Guys Just a little bit of a background, I'm opening up an ARMA 2 server to our Southeast Asian gaming community (OMGeek.net) and I kinda need some help on some stuff as this is my first time administering an ARMA 2 server, but me myself I've been playing on and off. Anyways, here is my question: I'm running a Combined Operation server and should my players need CO to connect or can OA suffice? Also, what if my players only have Vanilla ARMA 2, will they still be able to connect? What maps would you guys also suggest for a new group to ease into ARMA 2. We've mostly have been playing BF3 a lot so I'm thinking of maps that need some action from the get-go Thanks in advance! -
Hi, I've been having a weird problem when it comes to tracers. When I tried firing the m249 I wasn't able to see tracers but my team mates could see them, but when I switched to TWS, the tracers do appear. I had to install Blascore Tracers in order for me to see the tracers. I'm assuming that I shouldn't have installed the mod for it to work properly? I tried re downloding the mod via sixupdater but still no go.

Hi Guys, it's me again to ask another question. This time regarding addons / mods I'm planning to install two mods on the server JSRS and Blastcore I've been reading up on how to install them server side and I would just like to clarify that should I just put the addons in the root folders where ARMA 2 is installed and name it with @JSRS and @Blastcore? Although I am not sure what to put in the command line when starting up the server Hope someone can help clear this one out for me And thanks again in advance -
"Peace Keepers" Campaign Missions Pack
inque replied to fleepee's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
You're right, the file size of that missions is a bit bigger than the one I have in my server. I must have gotten a corrupted download when I was trying to get it the other day. Thanks for pointing that out -

I tried to load up this map on our dedicated server and for some reason your map kept crashing the server. I tried to check the .rpt of the server and this was the error message I was getting: ErrorMessage: Data file too short 'MPMissions\[PK-05]Secure_Oil_Fields_V1-b.Takistan.pbo'. Expected -333481568 B, got 1059187 B The server is a Combined Operations server btw -

Ah unfortunately we're hosting through a GSP (Game Server Provider) called Hypernia, so I don't really have RDP access, just FTP. Will that be possible? I would really like to get ACE in the server also once my players familiarize themselves. I will also try the Skype group channel! I'm glad they have this!! -

Thanks for the comprehensive reply PVP I see the mission packs use Six Updater also and I find the utility quite interesting and would want to use it on our own server Problem is their guide (http://www.six-projects.net/wagn/Six_Updater) seems to be a bit confusing. Is there any simpler guides out there? I tried to google some, but it kept pointing me back to their official guide -
Stuck trying to join a multiplayer server.
inque replied to Tajin's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
I've been having some problems with MP lately Whenever I join a COOP Evo server, it connects fine to the server, lets me pick a slot then downloads the mission data. But that's it, it's stuck with receiving file But I tried joining other servers and allowed me to connect. Connecting to a server is very hit or miss I will try to forward some ports posted earlier on this thread and see if that's going to help. But if anybody has anymore helpful inputs. It would be very appriciated. FYI also, I was able to host a Story Campaign MP with no problems. My friend was able to join me very quickly
