Does the beta patch work with steam versions? The crackling is starting to really piss me off. -- FRACK!!!, it doesnt :(

Note: The demo is on a much smaller island called Utes, the full game has the vast countryside of Chernarus which is much more cpu/gpu intensive.

Many scopes are adjustable. A single scope can have 4x-18x magnification and thensome (even higher than 32x). I guess in the game, its a feature for the designated marksman...The DMR, SPR, and M107 all do it, however the M24 doesnt.

I doubt you'll spend much time in SP since it's fubar. But the editor and MP is where this game really shines. Also, read as much as this as you can and you should be fit to fight in no time. http://ttp2.dslyecxi.com

Does anyone else notice an odd noise sometimes. It sounds like a needle skipping on a record player. It's not constant but I usually hear it when reloading...

Yes, it sucks being shot through vegetation However, it makes sense to have it this way in most situations...but only if they spot you and dont track your movements unless you give them a visual target.

I dont know about Utes, but Chernarus was designed from satellite imagery of České Středohoří.

Did the trucks go through battle? Fuel tanks can be shot and start leaking... Other than that, there shouldnt be any reason for the terrible MPG you're getting.

Considering the retail version of Arma II didnt hit shelves until a few weeks after steam released...I'm glad I bought it on steam. Also, the patch worked the 1st time for me, tho it did take a few hours.:o

Steam isnt doing anything...cant get the patch. :(
