  1. It is never sure if any of the missions will complete successfully. Other peeps have had probs with manhattan but I managed to complete it for some odd reason. Run around and enjoy the sub missions and then move to next mission with following. Hold down LEFT SHIFT and the KEYPAD "-" ( minus ) key then let go. Then type in "endmission" ( without the quotes ) and it will move you onto the next mission. I did this with Badlands and had to do the above to move on. Save the Savegame files and you can go back and replay at later date. I hope the savegames are useable with the later patches that must come

    Patch 1.03 suggestions

    More comments relative to SP mode. Russian dialogue echo or whatever when playing in English mode. Mission after Badlands needs a lot of work including, stop AI enemy vehicles running wildly all over the place without any apparent logic, stop vehicles crazily bumping into stationary object, place the AI HQ and vehicles logically on the map. Everything seems to be placed at random with no plan. Also in this mission getting repeated notices to take villages and then in a very short time getting message it has been taken without time to do anything. Crazy stuff. Like battlefield and equally frustrating for SP mode. Perhaps this game like Battlefield suited only to MP mode and is not going to be optimized for SP mode. Perhaps the third party mods will be good as was the case with ARMA 1 and OFP.
  3. I'm stuck in badlands and want to resupply my weapons. i have taken the first town. I have acquired a BDRM which is a mobile HQ and can build a base near it. Can I build something at the base to resupply weapons It seems that you can only build base buildings near a HQ. Also I I am having problems working out how to read the resupply screen when you press G key. Can't tell what I have and what weapons are available. So far I have only been able to get wepaons from dead people got a rifle and an anti tank weapon but latter had only one round left.

    Patch 1.03 suggestions

    All comments relative to SP mode Said above but repeating this, that prone AI infantry in open grassland continually hit you prone through grass but you can't see him to fire and apparently grass obstructs your shot. He is exposed in open grassland but he keeps shooting you when you peep around corner. AI hit intensity too severe and react too quickly. Also enemy units relocate in response to your units relocating and flanking them even if they cannot see you moving. Enemy AI should not respond to non visible flanking movements. The enemy AI vehicles act like hunting dogs on the prowl. Not realistic. I have a fast CPU. Does the game AI enemy response fire time take CPU speed into account. The enemy AI fire response when they see you ridiculously fast. It becomes too much a game of cat and mouse. Too few enemy units. More units would be fun such as more less lethal APCs to take out with a bazooka. Bad bug of a destroyed enemy vehicle repeatedly blowing up must be fixed. It acts like a hand grenade and kills nearby squad. Longer time of smoke and flame on destroyed vehicles good eye candy. On occasions I had difficulty swithing to another squad member. Should be clearer when AI units are friendly NAPA or other friendly player characters and their role. Also when friendly units and vehicles come into your area their type and role should be made clear by some command such as a radio command contacting all friendlies in the area for identification which is then shown on the map icon of the unit.(red enemy, green your units, blue other friendly or similar)

    Great game but suggested improvements. Missions such as Manhattan need better briefing. Squad is a key element of game but very frustrating. Need to make the squad member path finding better, stay where you put them, go where you want them to go, not walk from cover into line of fire when relocating. They only stay out of trouble if you tell them to hold position. Hit accuracy of AI enemy too severe and too smart even on low game difficulty settings. Odd happening of supply trucks running around if you build a base and run over and kill squad. AI needs a tweak. Supply trucks when they arrive should become controllable units or stationary. As you go through the game, a feature first encountered such as laser designating an artillery strike should have a pop up with description of key strokes etc. The gear swapping menu needs to be more intuitive.
  7. Could more skilled palyers please take the time to tell me how to call additional squads by radio, how to direct artilley strikes with laser designator. Also I have started earning cash for kills etc in the campaign. When does this kick in, how do i use the cash, how do you base build, buy extra troops and supplies, get more ammo for personal weapons. When is base and defences building essential? This great game has depth and it has features I still don't know how to use. In the Campaign, when does HIGH COMMAND become necessary and active? Appreciate anyone who has time to answer these.

    Time Limit Petition

    I agree that time limits are not appropriate for such trial and error missions in this type of game. Time limits a pain even on linear games like COD

    manhattan : ok, no fun anymore

    In Manhattan there is a good female I forget her name who gets killed regardless. When you meet the bad female and Cooper hops out of vehicle and confronts her, she is identified and captured. If you are in an APC she can apparently be told to get in. If you are in a HUMVEE she won't get in but will follow you to the chopper pick up point which appears as orange circle on the map. Kill the enemy at the sentry point in the woods to the right of the chopper pick up point before all of this or they will shoot down the chopper.
  12. This is a very deep game with multiple options of equipment available for mission and multiple options to complete the game. When equipment first appears in the game would be good to have a pop up tute on how to use it such as using UAV in Manhattan mission and how to call artillery support.
  13. Are there any tutorials on how to use squad command menus for single squads and high command. I am playing missions and have no idea how to call in other squads which mission enables, call in artillery etc. Great game but the command menus are extensive.

    I agree with A247' post that too much searching in mission reduced the fun. That enemy camp with the T-72 and other armoured vehicles is the enemy HQ, not one of the four sentry posts I found. I do not know how to call in artillery strikes or that you could so I went back to friendly Manhattan HQ and got an armored vehicle from under camouflage. I ran around in woods near enemy HQ and shot infantry that came out to chase me. Eventually one of the dead infantry was the commander. Then base seemd to become inactive, T-72 became inactive and i just ran around in enemy HQ shooting it up until all killed and destroyed. The T-72 went inactive, i did not destroy it until I destroyed all of the HQ features. Then I got instruction to go back to HQ BTW how do you call in artillery strikes?

    Thanx for your reply Blitz All helpful I played the tutorials and High command etc but there are other aspects such as how to call in artillery, how to use a mobile HQ (a BDRM) I acquired in badlands and why you need to lock it / unlock it. Also things like if you have a mobile HQ what can options can you activate and how. THe BDRM mobile HQ keeps asking if i want to lock it / unlock it. capabilities of a mobile HQ nice to know. I was wondering if there was a written tutorial by an enthusiast on command menus etc.

    manhattan : ok, no fun anymore

    I completed the mission finding four sentry camps and did not find evidence. Completed everything else. The girl you have to evacuate pops up in several places depending on your sequence of completing the mission. The four sentry posts I found were at bottom of the smaller scarlet ellipse, at top and bottom of larger ellipse and on a hill to top right of the larger ellipse. From here we sighted the HQ to the top left Ask if you need help.

    Satchel Charges

    In Manhatttan you have to blow up a house. To do that I rotated mouse wheel to bring up menu, clicked on "Place satchel bomb" option which placed it, then at a safe distance from the house clicked "set off sachel bomb" on same menu and it exploded. No need for timer. It may be that in some situations you are required by game to set a timer and in some situations to touch it off at a safe distance.
  20. I played the first part of this mission twice and completed the tasks in the order of the mission list. Each time I went to Gvozdno the gunrunners and their white ute were around a corner as I entered the town. I just killed them. Not sure what triggers them to be there. HIDE BODY comes up if the person is not of interest. With the sequence I played the game the Insurgent Leader was one of the infantry I killed in the woods near the main enemy HQ. When you walk up to the body a flag pops up to search him and it is revealed who he is and you report that back.
  21. With V1.02 patch installed the game plays OK. I did not play earlier versions. Future patches will make the game better. I agree with other posts that this engrossing deep game leaves games like COD series in the dust.

    Manhatten (again)

    An observation and question about this mission Manhattan. The chopper that picks up the girl at pick up point does not get shot down if you have taken out the nearby enemy sentry camp in the woods (lower end of large scarlet ellipse on the map) There is another sentry camp at other end of this large crimson blob that will take out friendlies if you do not destroy it. What is Starforce in this mission and how do you use it? How do you get arty support in this mission? What is boomerang in this mission and anyone use it successfully.

    Manhattan - captain shaftoe bug

    I play V1.02 of game and with visibility at 1600 m all of the time , Shaftoe is always there with his table and alive LOL
