Are there any groups out there that aren't ultra realism? I just need a group of guys that play, communicate, organise properly but are more about having a laugh. I basically want coordination without the military drill realism. Message me if getting drunk, having a laugh and also winning is your thing.

If you only got a "mild sexual theme" from a hooker you would be so disappointed!

Aircraft rudder has a mind of its own?
Fabregas replied to xPaveway's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
At high speeds the rudder should not impact direction much, or at all in the helicopters. The higher speeds basically force the aircraft straight. -
They are not the best tanks in the world. Sorry, misread your post. Didn't see the "one of"

This game made me violently sick. Might persue legal action.

I'd prefer it to get thrown out of court on the basis of 'you're a git' and having the Judge launch a gavel at his head. Oh, and hopefully the spinning motion of the gavel flying towards his face makes him violently sick as well. -

I know lawyers (sorry in advance to any lawyers on here) can be somewhat scummy and will take your money to pursue any unethical, ridiculous or utterly contempuous little thing that you can dream up, but surely even your "lawyers" must have had a hard time not putting you on the ground and kicking you in the teeth! I already lost faith in mankind a long time ago Dawg. -
MG soldier can even shoot a M1A2 TUSK and destroy it!, I think it's a logic error

La Gleize you say... I think me and my tank thieving kit might have to pay a visit. The Tiger and King Tiger, truly were amazing pieces of kit and virtually untouchable, especially on the western front. Some Soviet tanks by the end were able to challenge them more but the German tank kill/death ratio was pretty terrifying overall. Lucky guy seeing one of those beasts in action! -
Mine also went up from using 7 over Vista, but if you've installed a nice clean version on a new partition might it just be that the system is less cluttered?

Sweet^^ I love German WWII tanks! Anyway, surely they can do something without having to create a new penetration type damage system. Writing in some sort of exceptions to the damage or armour values of the weapons or vehicle, would do the trick would it not? -
Why assume he would be a big angry carnivore? I think Bigfoot probably spends his days playing cards with brown bears and eating candy floss. He might turn nasty later in the day though when he's had a few too many rotten fruits and becomes amorous.

By default the "V" key makes you jump obstacles. It isn't really jump in the classic fps sense as you say, but that'll do it.

Has anybody tried 9.7 with Win7? I couldn't get 9.6 to install, it just gave me BSODs.
-
I'm playing with the 505 DVD version on Win7 and there is nothing other than my own account listed under users. I didn't look when I was playing it under Vista though.

Badlands/warfare- how rearm squad members?

The whole thing is FUBAR. -
I've seen people saying the game runs much better on Windows 7 and I'm interested in trying it out anyway so I thought I might give it a go. My question is this - If I install Win 7 on a seperate partition can I run programs from my main Vista partition through Win 7 or would I have to install all the programs onto the new partition?
-
My specs are Intel E8300 @ 2.83GHz 4GB DDR2 RAM Radeon HD3870 with Catalyst 9.4 (hopefully getting an upgrade to this soon) With Blinksters standard I'm getting 20-23 fps running around the forest at the mass grave in Harvest Red. With everything set to very high and no AA at 1920x1200 I'm getting 16-20. Strange that I'm almost matching you for performance with considerably weaker specs. Just adds weight to the argument that there is some serious issue with the engine itself.
-
Ok, first update. I installed Win7 64-bit and installed Catalyst 9.4 because the later releases were causing a BSOD during installation. Anyway, the initial results were very promising. I haven't tested on the SP campaign yet, as the bugs do my head in tbh, but playing MP on the same map on the same server as the night before on Vista with the same graphics settings, my fps had increased from around 30 to a steady 40-50. As pleasing as this might be, I can't put this down solely to Win7 as a lot of the performance boost may well be from the fact it's a clean OS install with only ArmA and Fraps installed along with a few other bits and pieces such as messenger and team speak. Seems like a very nice OS though so I'm glad I tried it out anyway. I'll update again if I get round to trying out the SP before they bring out a hopefully performance enhancing patch.

Am using Vista as the primary OS. Installed Win7 on a seperate partition, so I'll be trying it out soon anyway. Cheers
-
Ok, if I install again will that count as another activation for ArmA? Would the different OS count as a different system?
-
Will my PC Run this? What CPU/GPU to get? What settings? System Specifications.

I just tried using CCC to centre my 1680x1050 resolution (native 1920x1200) and it seems to have had a dramatic impact on performance. At the opening screen I used to get 18-20 frames and lots of stuttering until the camera panned over the first chopper, and now I'm getting 40-45 for the same scene... Odd -
Does this command actually work? Is there a special way of issuing the order? I can't get it to work at all, and all it seems to do is make my team less responsive to threats and danger. I hit the dirt under a hail of fire, and they stand like numpties looking in the wrong direction and ignoring any form of cover.
-
A 4 year old 4850? You really must have had friends in exceptionally high places!
-
Exactly. There are already plenty of options that leave stance positions up to the AI. A "copy stance" command, in my mind, should be an order not helpful advice.
-
I was hoping that the copy stance command was an ongoing command, otherwise it is completely pointless. If we come under fire for example and I drop, I might want the rest of my team to follow my lead automatically, rather than wait for me to issue the prone command. Not that they copy my current or subsequent stance anyway.

Sulu I saw that one as well. The rifle was the German Kar98. I can't actually remember if the Garand managed to get through the modern helmet though.
