    GLT CAA1 Config Fix & Localization

    Good work and nice to see this project isn't complety abandoned ;) I'm also still busy finetuning OAC, mostly focussing on Arma1 unit/weapons/vehicle mappings. The problems i still notice in CAA1/OAC: - m113 word is missing in the RadioProtocol resulting in RPT errors and radio commands that aren't pronounced properly - Porto is missing serveral textures and models, resulting in RPT errors. Didn't see anything missing ingame though.
  2. Great little scripts suite which makes creating missions much easier/quicker and even enhances the mission experience.. Little things i found : - When i enable a group to use this script my mission gets a short lagspike every 60 secs (probably due to the script updating enemy locations etc) - The leader of a group who is in fortify mode just stands still on the spot u place it and doesn't move, although it switches combat modes (safe/aware/etc) Last is a little personal wish, I would be nice to have a extra parameter which restricts the units of a group to board empty vehicles. Maybe this can be alrdy done by locking the vehicle but didn't test it yet.

    Please lets keep using the software where its meant for. Linux to host a cheap and easy customisable 'internet' server hosting WWW, mail, ftp, mysql etc Windows to run my games and malwares ;)
  4. Personally I'm still surprised (but also relieved) that BIS hasn't been taken over by the major game industry players. With the OFP franchise they have a quite unique game with a solid community, who is more dedicated then most other 'fanboys'. Alot of developers should be jealous at BIS how they accomplished that. I agree that the game could be more polished but U have to ask yourself at what cost. Better graphics, realistic physic modelling, and the rest probably means the engine isn't going to be that open as it is these days. Also making new mods for a to advanced engine should create some issues. To think U can have of both worlds isn't very realistic IMHO.

    Final release of CAA1

    Their is a working A1 campaign for OAC. It has briefing/sounds and the rest, same for the original sp scenarios. There are the obvious copyright issues ofcourse, which Kju tried to arrange with BIS. I heared Kju mentioning mostly sound copyright. There was a plan to make a installer which checked if u had A1, unfortunatly it never came this far. The last thing i want to do is create legal issues with BIS. If i can get a clearance from BIS ill make a public download. So people can play it and give feedback on mission behaviour, which is basicly the last thing this campaign conversion needs.

    I had familiar problems with converting A1/OFP missions, it seems Arma2 needs a relative path definition to.... class Firstcall { name = "Firstcall"; sound[] = {"\sounds\Firstcall.ogg", db-40, 1.0}; titles[] = {}; }; Hope it helps :)

    I still use the version that fixed AI using vehicles on roads. Not having any problem besides a odd gate which hasn't got he right azimut or a ladder u can't climb. Didn't see anyone who has the problems u describe. It would suggest putting the pbo's (which are in all the subfolders) in one big addon folder and try it then.

    Thanks will give episode4 a go. I liked the first 3 to, small instant action missions. I like the fact that no addons are required, especialy Ace (breaks my ability to load save games, which isn't very usefull in SP games) ;)

    The AI driving on bridges is always been a bit tedious. Then again u will have the same problems with vanilla ArmA1. Been busy converting campaign missions and did check their original counterparts. For example the Doleres mission (where u have to blow up the bridge, flash,flash,flash) has some serious issues in ArmA1 to. The convoy gets stuck in front of the bridge clugging up the rest of the vehicles or even fall of the bridge :) BTW great initiative Kabong, i suggest u use the dev-heaven for bugtracking and suggestions etc (http://dev-heaven.net/projects/show/cbp-caa1). So all who are willing to make efforts in CAA1 can read up on issues and progress etc.

    I don't see any drama, only people trying to troll :) What's so hard to understand, He just writes down the reason why is giving up on his hobby. Ofcourse the reason isn't because he thinks its what he hoped for it to be, if so he probably wouldn't leave. U can discuss the way he wrote it (or even disaproves his opinion) but id prefer a proper honoust goodbye post then that he leaves quitly, because he surely will be missed.

    I would like to add that if u change ur ArmA name in something different then ur 'Windows username' (thats probably everyone) the directory is: %my documents%\Arma 2 Other Profiles\%playername%\missions

    Can anybody save midgame in this mission and revert to it? It seems i can't revert any mission while i playing ACE. Was curious if anyone who has played this tried it.

    Is this a new build Kju, or is it just a repackage ? Still running the version i got tru Yoma where all addons where in x/caa1. Not sure if i need to get it again.
  20. This is a great little toy, very efficient with the new AH-64. Love it that laser designator works out of the box with the Apache as wingman. Not sure if this is still an active project, hope it is. Here are some things i would like to see: - Same texture setting as the new AH64 - FLIR system - working lights I'm currently working on a mission where these 2 beauties are working together :)

    This map is a real beauty, great work. Great intro scene to very moody. Little things i noticed - Some bushes has some black ground textures beneath it which looks kinda strange when seeing it from a the air. - Cinema borders on the intro scene isn't as nice as without them imho

    Zeus AI Combat Skills

    This addon seems to change that behaviour i noticed to. Example in a mission me and squad are beeing transported in a car and normaly we would drive to a checkpoint and dismount there and start clearing the area. With the Zeus AI (and Ace2) the leader spots a enemy halfway and orders a dismount / engage, which kinda breaks the mission. I understand that replacing AI can have such impact tho. Great mod btw realy makes alot of combat situations more intense and realistic. A must have for sp/coop players.
