They are the same guys who made OFP, and OFP is a game from 2001 which has got the optimizations it needed though patches. And Arma2 is using a heavily modified version of OFP's engine (same with Arma1) ;) Most of the issues will be fixed in patches. :) and the game runs fine for me, but it has random slowdowns...

I placed an Abrams and a Huey in the editor and placed myself as a machinegunner and just for fun I started shooting at the tank, I used up all my ammo and I entered the huey and started shooting at it with the miniguns, I emptied one minigun and started using the other. I shoot about 1000 bullets at the M1 and it blew up! I found this pretty weird, is this intentional or is it a bug? :S This is the demo by the way.

Oh well, no one would be able to shoot 4000+ bullets at a tank anyways...

I haven't bought the game but I will next week, I've had lots of fun with the demo despite the bugs. If you worry about bugs etc. you should know that BIS usually fixes the bugs in their games and listens to their community. I think you should buy the game after BIS' has released a few patches but there is nothing stopping you from buying the game despite the errors in the game. :) I think you will not regret buying ArmA2 when it's "fixed" and that you will spend many hours in the editor! Though in the start I suspect that the retail game will be even slower than the demo....

For the errors with they game I recommend just waiting until BIS releases a few patches for the game because BIS' games are usually a little laggy and full of bugs when they are released. (you know, the game is huge!) BIS' are good at fixing their games. :) "Operation Flashpoint" 2 seems to be a more arcade than simulation, thats why he compared the games. ;) You remember playing it, I am still playing it and it still is one of the best games ever! Funny, that you say so because ArmA is Operation Flashpoint in many ways: -ArmA & OFP1 is made by BIS. -They both use the same game engine. (ArmA is using an improved version obviously)
