Hi, decided to register, I would like to put some of my input to this game. This game became very interesting to me as soon as i saw the gunships! Because I'm a huuuuuge hElo lover Anyway I got 200+ hours in flying a hElo in BF2 and 100+ in 2142, played almost avery helicopter sim you can find, including DCS Ka-50 Black Shark So seeing this game with gunships in action was an insta buy for me! But when i got the game i was not so happy with the Helicopter controls... 1st and main Turning. Why turning in helicopter in Arma 2 is not allowed? You only get a brief moments at the start when you can turn the bird to left and right when you are hoovering or minimal speed... After few seconds turning gets switched to "roll" where did my "turn" go??? all of a sudden it rolls? wtf Don't tell me this is a sim... or w/e Helicopters can turn in real life ;) Can you imaging if they couldn't? lol that's why there is a back rotor and with increasing/decreasing rpm on it hElo turns to left/right accordingly. 2nd thing... all of the helicopters are on ice scating? I know you get a speed from the main rotor, tilt nose down and there ya go, but when you want to stop gee... i'm on ICE floating with my unbelievable inertia... Dont really care about this i can manage with this game mechanics, main thing is turning... Hopefully a dev will read this, I'm sure this is easy to fix. Regards, Vlad.

BUG: The giant Fire, No Lock On, Gray floor = CTD

This is the engine of the game or something is messed up. Basically when i see the giant fire in a sky all my Lock On capability (dots from the radar are nowhere to be seen from the whole map) is gone when i fly in the Cobra and when i get too close to the ground i start to see grayish/jumpy/glitch-like/artifact-like floors/grass and when i do land it will crash to desktop. This bug only happens when there is GIANT FIRE is in the sky. Edit: typically its the size of the village, and its covering the whole sky over the village/town.... imagine a small vehicle burning, now multiply that fire by 100. Fix the fucking GIANT FIRE! -

I get these often but after prolong Arma 2 sessions. (Online) (and no it's not artifacts... it's something to do with the game engine) Usually i fly so it happens during the time, and i think it only can be triggered like that. Basically most of the time when you fly grass is not visible but when you jump under 20-30m grass is being generated and instead of that (sometimes not all the time) the whole ground becomes gray, artifacts like... and if i throttle up to a higher altitude everything goes to normal, if i lower the bird it will start doing again. If i continues this artifact like crap for more than few seconds the game will crash and tell me that dx3d9.dll something got an error... (need to get an exact error name etc...) -

NVidia is probably working their asses off for a new driver with best support for Arma ;) stay tuned! And its nVidia not NVIDEA... -

Correct i do have 280GTX..phewww i thought sometimes it was artifacting... but artifacts cant be triggered like this bug. Yes especial in larger towns. -

No, I'm pretty sure it's a giant fire, i played today on a server with VOIP disabled and i reconnected 4 times still had the dumb giant fire bug. -

I can not play this game online, everyone lags (stutters, glitches, etc...) and i get Desync icon all the time, I have Comcast cable, here is my connection speed: Can any one explain how Arma works online and why tha f*ck it doesn't like my connection? Thank you!

Hi, i was wondering how to use M270 Multiple Launch Rocket System to it's full potential. In Armory it doesn't say much about it... My guess would be i need a Spotter with a Laser Designator in the field? If you know pls share your experience. :bounce3: Thanks!

Quick question, before the "bad" patch MLRS would shoots it's missile all the way up to 42km? And it would be visible to any one while it is in flight? Cuz they say something about Virtual MLRS...

Wait wait wait, do the servers have to run this? Or is it a standalone "plugin" I have noticed that in some Domination maps when you get in to MLRS and try to shoot the rocket the thing blows up. Also another thing, what they mean by Virtual, means the actual Rocket just spawns over the target and hits it INSTEAD of going all the way from the M270? And thanks, you are THE only one to answer my question I'm sooooo trying this! But have no idea where to start.

Ok... game lags like hell online, connection wise, not hardware. WHAT Ports i need to open for this game (pls provide a link/source where you got the info from), i don't feel like throwing my whole system on DMZ just for a video game. Thanks.
