  1. my bad, i did look at the section titles and for some reason thought it belonged here! FAIL! Admins, by all means move this to the appropriate section. i have extracted the config.bin with the unbin tool and have been trying to figure it out but keep getting errors on load up. say if i copy an existing config and within it; it defines characters, can i simply duplicate a character and its related parameters in the config and rename it and give it weapons, save and load up the game>? or will all of the information which would exist as a duplicate clash with the original config from where i copied it? or does the game read the contents of the addons folder and bypass the games native content if it discovers a duplicate? - if that makes sense! also is there any documentation here that identifies the functions of all of the brackets, colons, semi-colons etc and the order of parameters needed to make a character work? thanks again, Ant
  2. hi guys, i have been getting some good information from this forum for a while now so first off; thanks for the awesome forum! im pretty new to modding the ArmA platform so could do with a bit of advice. i know how to create custom load outs for an existing character but i'd like to put together my own ForceRecon team that can be selected from the groups menu in the editor. i dont want any custom geometries or soldier models, the existing ones are fine, id just like to take a couple of existing soldiers, copy them and rename them, give them a new load out and have them selectable from the units and groups menu in the editor. i'm guessing all i need to accomplish this is to create a config.cpp file and pack it into a .pbo.... or is there more to it than that? - i have been searching for information on how to do it but have failed epically so far! any help or advice would be greatly appreciated :)
