  1. when I dropped "Maximum pre-rendered frames" to 1 from Nvidia control panel I also had the black screen problem. Raising it back to 3 solved the issue for me.
  2. I use Sennheiser Pc 350 but I really miss good bass, even though this headset is really good at high range. Overall I'm pretty satisfied with it.

    Infantry shooting at choppers

Better believe it man, Here is a detailed report of the incident. http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/library/report/2004/onpoint/ch-4.htm In the middle of the document from Army Attack Aviation The 11th Attack Helicopter Regiment and 101st Attack Aviation onwards. Pretty revealing about the Apaches weaknesses: "In the Apache, one of the two crewmen flies wearing helmet-mounted night vision goggles to see things thermals do not, including, for example, wires and tracers. The second crewman flies with thermals and the 30mm chain gun slaved to his head-up display. When the sky "lit" up with tracers, the aviator with goggles could see them, but the aviator who had immediate control of the gun could not. Therefore, to add to their problems, one crewman had to talk the other on to the source of fire to suppress it."

    Mouse movement in ArmA II

This Mouse lag affects my TrackIR as well which is unacceptable, Ive managed to reduce the lag from mouse to acceptable level, but TrackIR lag is high.

    Infantry shooting at choppers

Small arms fire is effective even against gunships it seems: "The U.S. Army's only disastrous operation in Gulf War II (at least the only one we know about) took place on March 24, when 33 Apache helicopters were ordered to move out ahead of the 3rd Infantry Division and to attack an Iraqi Republican Guard regiment in the suburbs of Karbala. Meeting heavy fire from small arms and shoulder-mounted rocket-propelled grenades, the Apaches flew back to base, 30 of them shot up, several disablingly so. One helicopter was shot down in the encounter, and its two crewmen were taken prisoner." http://www.slate.com/id/2081906/ http://www.jjraymond.com/political/articles/helicopters112004.html
  7. Now that Ive tested it more I still have a slight delay, could be somekind of inertia modelling as it stays the same regardless of gfx settings... it increases slightly between low-very high settings. Nevertheless, the game is now much improved for me. Still it isn't Red Orchestra type of control, still slightly floaty.
  8. I just popped here to comment that I had the same mouse lag problem (Mouse lags and the lag gets worse as you tweak the graphics settings higher and vice versa) I have had this same problem with Crysis and Stalker. For some time I've suspected that my bluetooth was to blame and when I finally got my hands on ArmA 2 and being crippled with this same problem, I just went and bought myself sidewinder x8 mouse to bypass the bluetooth link. I just tried the mouse and there seems to be no mouse lag at any gfx settings so it worked for me. Ive read that some of you have mouse lag problems without bluetooth keyboard/mouse so there is probably more causes than 1, but some of you might benefit from not using bluetooth mouse. I'm off to finally start the first campaign mission, good times!
