In all it's glory... Tanoa;

I stand corrected.

I thought this is Arma lll's version of Arma ll's Operation Arrowhead. A stand alone expansion pack that requires Arma lll to play.

When I first checked in this thread I was 71 and now I just turned 74, still playing with the same community I joined in 2009. The mind and spirit are still willing but the AI are getting even harder to spot and I get more of the "Hey chief, over here...No this way!" than I seem to remember from a couple of years ago. Good thing there are no mess hall or pencil pusher slots in the game, I would never see any action.

Are you complaining about Arma 3? You need to watch this video.
chiefboatsret replied to ajsarge's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Thanks to Dslyecxi for making this and to you for posting it. It won't help much against the teeth gnashing, fist waving, chicken little the sky is falling doomsayers, but it made me feel better. -
Lack of content in vanilla Arma 3
chiefboatsret replied to UkropyPrivyet's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
To the malcontents; Get a lawyer and sue BIS for all their misdeeds to get your life altering and bank account draining $60 back (probably less than that). You pays your money and takes your chances, deal with it and move on. Grow the fuck up. -

Winter is coming and there is not enough to keep some bored people occupied. Take this crap back to where it came from. -
I belong to a community that accepts donations to help pay for the daily operations but anyone can play there without paying. The only perk is getting to bump non contributors on full servers in some but not all games. I don't consider that pay to play since the servers are open to the public.

13€ DLC, hefty price for 2 choppers
chiefboatsret replied to TrueCruel's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
When I add up dollars to hours of entertainment even including the dlc, I am still far ahead on entertainment value to dollar with BIS. What some of you fail to understand is Arma will never be a completed game. I do not mind spending some of the cash I saved by not purchasing COD, BF and Dragon rising, on dlc's to keep Arma moving along for years to come. -

A More Sophisticated Scoring Algorithm?
chiefboatsret replied to infiltrator_2k's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
How does a scoring system add immersion or dimension to Arma? Scores, leveling up and collecting trinkets not needed where teamwork and completing the mission with the least loss of life and resources is what matters. Penalties for lone wolfing and misplaying Arma is a pretty quick death, the only atta boys I need is "thanks guys, great game". -
+1 goes to Bl1p

I paid more for a dinner that was gone in less than an hour, I am still enjoying Arma III.

fictitious Altis Armed Forces Structure & Ranks

Sort of a "Dear Diary" kind of thread. -
I have never seen leveling up in Arma for killing or anything else.

Wat???

I have a solution: uninstall it and play something else. Why do something that makes you unhappy.

Most of the really good play is on servers that make their own missions for their style of play for their community. These are usually pass worded or semi public servers with admins and rules, you just need to know where to go. I have played at the same community for five years where missions are well tested before play on the servers and we are blessed with a talented group of mission makers. Find a good community where there are like minded players and you will find Arma is still going as strong as ever.

I would rather spend my time getting into battle than primping in front of the ammo crates asking "Do these cammies make me look fat"? This is a military shooter GAME not dress up Ken & Barbie.

Floating an idea for a unique realism "unit"
chiefboatsret replied to ScharfSepp's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Not unique. There are already Arma communities with well trained players (even trained elite units) that play tvt events against each other, you just have to know where to find them. Not everyone runs around playing Domination, Altis life and Wasteland. Tread lightly when approaching other communities with an "elite" unit, you may get your butt handed to you in battle. -
Arma 3 Cheating / hacking / Exploiting.
chiefboatsret replied to esfumato's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Never say never. If you never play again then you would never need to come back here.
