Hey. I think it's really bad of BI to not have a quick link, or any option asking if you would like to EITHER buy(already exists ofcourse), OR simply download the install file IF you have already paid for it before on their arma2 website. It's pretty obvious that they want you to pay a second time to be able to download it again. Last time i played Arma2 was in mid 2009, now i got a new computer and want to install Arma2 again, but i just don't seem to find the link on arma2.com to do so. I have already double searched the website for any clue where to find a download link without having to pay again. It's just completely stupid by BI to not have a link right next to the "Buy Arma2 Online now!", where you can DL it if you already have paid for it before. If they think that i'm going to pay for Arma2 a second time they must be very stupid. I thought BI atleast would act alittle bit professional with this online purchase part, maybe i was wrong. Trust me, it makes you mad at them.

Oh jesus! it was the tool i used to make PBO's into WSS that screwed up the sounds, WSS-File-Converter was shit, atleast for me on my computer, i tried PBO-View, and it's wonderful. PBO-View to turn PBO's into WSS, then use OFP-Utility-WSS to turn WSS into Wave. Sorry if i troubled you alot, but i've learned much, and it all ended good :) I just kept trying to get new programs to turn the WSS files into Wave, should have checked the one that turns the PBO to WSS first, d'oh!

Thanks again for helping, i'll try anything that people suggest. ---------- Post added at 04:48 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:24 AM ---------- It's just that the files i've decoded turns up as Wave's, not Waw's. I got Goldwave now, and it can't open WSS files to decode them as Waves. And when i open the soundfiles in Goldwave it says that the files that sounds as glass being broken already are PCM signed 16 bit mono, and got a playback rate at 44100 hz.

Thanks for the information about P3D & WSS files, i appreciate that you take your time to explain how it works etc, things really get cleared up for us less experienced in this area. I've downloaded a WSS file converter now, and managed to decode WSS files to Wave, but i don't know what's wrong, because when i play up, let's say a sound from a weapon, a rifle, it just sounds like as if glass is being broken. How come? Cheap decoder program, or just lousy made one? Other? All of the sounds i've decoded sounds like glass is being broken, but with different tones ofcourse.

So, i've managed to Un-PBO the files, but then i got lots of P3D files i need to extract, after a long time of googling around, with no success, i asked a friend of mine if he knew any program that could open them, somehow he found Peak3D, in the descrition of the program it said it could open P3D files, but no, it couldn't. I read somewhere that there is no program available at the moment to open the Arma2 P3D files, but in my ears that sounds ridiculous. BI isn't offering any tools for it tho.

Respawn script doesn't work for me

Heya. I've watched tutorials, read here in the forums about the respawn script in Arma2, followed the videos and doing exactly the same, but still no success, are the tutorials forgetting to mention something to me? I've been attempting to do the player respawn- Following: Making a notepad document called Description.ext, containing: respawn= "BASE"; respawndelay= 10; And placing this notepad document in the same mission folder as the test map i've made. And i've placed a marker in the editor called respawn_west I've seen how the people making the tutorials do exactly like this, they show every step in the editor, and when they are done in the editor they put the notepad file in the same folder as the map is in, and simply click the preview button in the editor, the game is loading, the round starts, they suicide, after 10 seconds they respawn. I've done exactly the same, but i don't respawn after suiciding. Does anybody here know what i'm doing wrong? I've heard people mentioning a Multiplayer Editor, but i don't know if it exists or not, or where to get it in that case. And i've noticed how the tutorial-people's screen looks different to mine. Like when they are about to preview their map while being in the editor, they hit the preview button, then they get a new screen coming up, the same screen you get when you're in the multiplayer section and you're about to choose wich unit you want to play as, Rifleman, AT Specialist, Officer etc. I don't get that window up, when i hit preview in the editor then the round starts immediately. Since i've done the same as other people has done, i've started thinking that the problem has to be somewhere within the game options or map editor options, well you get what i mean, i hope. Though i've already been looking around in the game options if there's something i can change in the editor, same in the editor, but there is no options button there. I'd be thankful if anyone here could help me out with this problem, if you got any idea what to do. Thanks. -
Hello. I'm wondering if BI are offering their weapon sound files to be downloaded somewhere, i've been searching around on Arma2, the forums, BI, google, but no success. (The sound when bullets are fired, explosions, vehicle sounds etc) Would appreciate if anyone could give information here if they know anything. Thanks.

Targeting & Manual Fire aiming (helicopters)

I'd like to see the programmers of Arma2 to enhance the "Manual Fire" system if you're flying a helicopter for example, same thing for tanks, so when you activate the manual fire in an AH-1 helicopter, then you can actually control the automatic cannon if you hold down, let's say "Left Alt", the button you look around with. Same thing for tanks, or if any addoncreator can modify the current tanks so that they can be controlled by just one player. As far as i know the Manual Fire is there to make a single player able to fire the weapons, such as the weapons in the attack helicopters. And one more thing, about the targeting as pilot when you got Manual Fire activated. Am i the only one who seem to not be able to target vehicles, aircrafts and ships? I've tried the "Lock Target", it doesn't work. I've also tried the "Next Target", it doesn't work either. Making the targeting system better and more reliable would be a +

Need help with scripting problem

I've got help from several people now, well atleast having several people telling me to do either this or that, but i don't get any progress because i'm the one making something wrong. I do think i've read through exactly what has been said to me. I got the script right in the map editor in Arma2, the one that is suppose to run the sqf file in the map folder. I'm not a programmer, probably never will be, so writing my own programming code for the sqf file is not an option for me, i really do appreciate that there are people willing to share their knowledge by uploading scripts etc, i really am happy for that. All i want is just to be able to make a balanced map for me and my friends, a map where we will be able to respawn on, aswell as have the vehicles to respawn. I have tried several script/programming codes for the SQF file, but none seem to work for me. The only message i get when i try to run a multiplayer map is: "SCRIPT [name] NOT FOUND" :< -

Ok thanks, and no, all the scripts I've copied had no link or extra window for the actual script/program code, it's odd. I got XP, and I did have that problem before, recently got my new computer, and I had to change that in the map options, to show hidden files. I couldn't find Arma2 maps before so i figured it out later on. -

I don't seem to be able to load a multiplayer or singleplayer map while bein in the map editor. I can only load other maps i've saved into the User Mission. What am i doing wrong? I've tried to move maps around in the mission folders, but no success. Or isn't it possible to do so?
