well I don't understand that for starters. but in essence; A. Install Six Updater B. run Six Updater C. it launches the web admin D. Lost Goto main and select either mod vanila, mod beta, vanilla, beta no idea what I am meant to select here. so select one and hit execute, it tells me it is skipping all mods and I can reset this in "main" this function does nothing it still skips them, DOS window opens and sits there doing nothing till I hit "enter to close" rinse repeat. Instructions tell me to goto configuration and enter username password which I have no idea where I get them from close browser.

I'm back to square one with this now, ive been asked to update the installer and have done only to find that its all changed again and I cant simply select option 2 and let it work. The web admin is simply incomprehensible and the instructions are without wanting to offend utterly useless. I'm left with pretty much no other option but to un installs it which inst going to go down well with the lads that use the server. Stalker

is there no Windows Server exe ?

Sorry mate, I'm not an Arma2 player, so if its not on the "guide" I wouldn't know where to even look.

kk thanks again chaps that worked. although now they are saying it needs ACE maps :S

OK the chaps are telling me I need some server keys as they cant join the server? Any ideas ?

KK well its running again, no idea if its running ACE or not (dont have ARMA2 installed, i'm just the server gibbon ) Are there any stats tracking stuff with ACE ? Can I also add my thanks for the time youve all spent on me :)

Our current shortcut switches are ; "E:\Program files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\ArmA2Server.exe" -port=51100 -name=server1 -config=server1\server1.cfg -cfg=server1\basic1.cfg -profiles=server1 the new one its created is;"E:\Program files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2.exe" -noSplash -noFilePatching -mod=@CBA;@ACE;@ACEX can I simply add the -mod=@CBA;@ACE;@ACEX to the end of the current one ? and what happens to the current config file as that lists maps ?

its created a shortcut (rather dangerously I'll add because it points to arma2.exe and not arma2server.exe) that when launched asks for a DVD. Thank god it did that or else we would have just incurred a restart fee on the co-lo box

I have; Preset : Beta/Vanilla Action : install update, install update start etc etc then an override option both of which have no options in the drop downs.

I'm so sorry to even post this, I feel like an idiot tbh, I/we have been hosting servers of various game types for nearly a decade but this has me beaten. I don't even know where to begin, Sickboy has linked me in a previous post to http://dev-heaven.net/wiki/ace-mod2/Lazy But it means nothing to me :( I dont even know if they are the instructions for the server Is there a step by step guide anywhere ? or should I just give up ?

as usual, I'm speechless And to add, I really don't believe that any significant portion of the online community would want to run hidden servers, Sure there will be a few with some reason or other, but for the most part they will want to advertise their community even if its invite only, Why would you hide it when you can password it. Its far to easy to say "the game has healthy constant playing numbers, its just they are all on hidden servers" even if it were true, its not healthy
