Done with Bohemia Interactive! READ IT BI!
Sloop replied to ShaiCZ's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I completely agree with ShaiCZ. I'm so upset and frustrated and I cannot beliebe I PURCHASED this game! I will sell it on ebay or somehow else, but I am sure that I NEVER EVER will purchase something again from BIS. What the hell do they expect from the clients? Let them pay to be beta-tester (or better said: Alpha-Prerelease-Tester!) ???? SHAME ON YOU BIS! I'm looking forward to get OperationFlashpoint2 and I'm sure this will be much more better. A very disappointed buyer, Sloop. -
NVIDIA video card(s) owners read here!
Sloop replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I already tried this pal, I entered exact these values you mentioned, and I write-protected afterwards the arma2.cfg file. But still no success! :( I'm frustraded dear BIS support ... please help! -
I installed the patch, but Arma2 doesn't recognize my graphic card fine. I cannot choose VERY HIGH graphic card, and VERY HIGH Texture details. So the graphic looks horrible in game (no good gras details, no uniform of soldiers, vehicles looks bad, etc...) still looking for a working solution :(

I have GTX 295 and neither PhysX disabling helped nore using the SLI enhancment fix from EVGA. My problem still is, that Arma2 doesn't recognize my graphic card correctly with the latest nvidia drivers 186.18. In Arma2 menu there are only 2 options for TEXTURE DETAILS and GRAPHIC CARD MEMORY (LOW & NORMAL). The graphics inside game look horrible, no rendered textures, everythign looks like rabbish. There are missing options HIGH and ULTRAHIGH in graphic options menu, because the game can't allocate all the memory for the GTX-295 and recognize it as a high-end graphic card. Also tried to manually change values in arma2.cfg on this side but without success! I tried a lot, but still no success. That sucks! -
:) LoL. Well, what else do to with it? I cannot use it. And I filled up my system with 12 Gigs of RAM because I'm doin' a lot of video and audio stuff mate... But the problem isn't dedicated to the RAM, but to the game itself which cannot handle correctly the latest nvidia driver, so my graphic card is recognized correctly and all the memory available is allocated. That's the reason why I got stuck

Damn it, NO! I have 12GB RAM in my system and won't throttle it down just for this ***** game. I will wait max. 1 month for further updates. If BI cannot fix this alpha-prelease which they sell official on stores, I will sell my game and share my oppinion.

No way man. I manually entered the values in my arma2.cfg but I still have the problem: In texture details and graphic memory there are only two option: LOW AND NORMAL. There is missing the HIGH and EXTRA HIGH option! I had this only with the old nvidia driver 182.50 which I don't want to use! So, can someone please explain me how to teach Arma2 that I have a good graphic card so all memory will be allocated correctly? Damn, I'm so upset and I'm short before to sell my game on ebay or somewhere else. I'm really upset! I have a high-end system and Arma2 won't run! DAMN IT!

@the luck people who succeeded in running ArmA2 fine with EVGA Patch: Which operating system are you using??? Anyone got Arma2 running at Windows7 RC 1, with latest nvidia drivers with GTX-295?? If so, please tell me how. Why is my graphic card not regcognized well by the game ???
-
Well,I de-installed ArmA 2, I de-installed nvidia 182.50 drivers, rebooted two times. Then I installed the latest nvidia driver for Windows7 64-bit, I completely installed Arma2 from my DVD, I executed the latest Arma2 patch (of today), and I installed this EVGA SLI Hotfix. After that I checked that no arma2-directory is located in my User-Directory Documents. So a new arma2.cfg and profile is created. But I have following problem with the latest nvidia drivers: as soon I start Arma2 for the first time, it shows me correct and latest patch version on the bottom right corner, but in the Graphic Option I cannot choose VERY HIGH Graphiccard RAM and Performance. That's because Arma2 don't recognize my GTX-295. Here is the arma2.cfg it creates after my first launch and setting up my graphics. Because of that I get texture flickering, the grass and all the other textures look very bad. It's no fun playing with rubbish textures. language="German"; adapter=-1; 3D_Performance=-4194304; Resolution_Bpp=32; Resolution_W=1920; Resolution_H=1200; refresh=60; Render_W=1920; Render_H=1200; FSAA=3; postFX=2; HDRPrecision=8; lastDeviceId=""; localVRAM=191033344; nonlocalVRAM=191033344;

@NVidia-Users: which nvidia driver are u using?? Can I use the latest nvidia driver with this SLI hotfix? I have GTX-295 but running the old nvidia driver which only worked for me on Arma2. It was 182.50 or something like that?? Can someone tell me, if 186.18 is running fine with the game? I would like to try this SLI hotfix tonight. But I would also like to use the latest nvidia driver. Thanks

Is anyone out there succeeded in running ArmA2 on nvidias latest driver 186.18 ???
-
Hi, I have the GAINWARD GTX-295. Will this EVGA-Fix work for me, too???
-
@Jade77: I have Intel i7 running at 3,2GHz with 12Gigs DDR3-RAM, and the Gainward GTX-295. Yesterday I succeeded running Arma2 with nvidia drivers 182.50. I have shadows at normal, post-processing at high, texture details at very high, land object details at normal, AA disabled, AF normal, and I am running the game after renamed it to crysis64.exe and using the syntax -nosplash -cpucount=4 -winxp -maxmem=2047 -openal Fraps show me that I am running about 50-60 Frames but I don't believe this. When turning quickly mouse I have breaks, it looks like Im running 20-30 frames. So why Fraps show me so many frames?? I don't think it's right. Can you tell me the exact details of your resolution set? I have 3D screen at 1920x1200 and Menu also at 1920x1200. Isn't that good? You wrote something about 200%. What exactly did you have setup for a resolution in the game? Please tell me. Thank you and greetings, Sloop.

ArmA2 running on Windows7 64-bit with GTX-295
Sloop replied to Sloop's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I installed nvidia driver 182.50 now, and seems running now. But I still have texture failures somewhere in game. I am looking forward for the next patches, because the game is still full of bugs. One example: I am doint the first training mission, and then I choose to learn driving. As soon as I enter the Humvee, it automatically accelerates and turns to left although I don't press the key for accelerating or turning on my keyboard. I cannot drive! This suxx! -
Hi @ll, I just bought ArmA2 and I'm really upset because it's not working fine. My system is following: Asus Rampage II Extreme X58, i7 920 D0-Stepping, 12GB RAM OCZ Platinum 1866MHz CL8 Series Low-Voltage Triple-Kit, Noctua NH-U12P SE1366, Gainward GTX-295, SSD Intel X-25 M, 1000GB WD Caviar Green, be quiet Dark Power Pro P7 650W AT, Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion, LG Blu-Ray-ROM LG DVD+/-RW, Aerocool FP-01 Flip-Panel, Lian Li ARMORSUIT P60 black, 24" Dell 2408WFP Dualmonitor running @1920x1200. I am using the latest nVidia driver for Win7 64-bit which is currently 186.18 from 18th June 2009. I red a lot in various forums and it seems that are still lots of bugs out there. I have noticed in many thread, that 182.50 would work fine for the GTX, but the problem is: this version 182.50 is not available for Windows7 64-bit ! The previous version found on nVidia is 181.71. So I have my system up-to-date running Win7 64bit with nvidia 186.18. According to many advices from various forums I renamed ArmA2.exe to Crysis.exe and using the syntax -nosplash -winxp -maxmem=2047 -cpuCount=4 and -winxp. The first problem I encountered in ArmA2 is that textures are not rendered well. Grass looks silly, no uniforms textures, cars look terrible, quite everything looks terrible! Although I have high settings used in Arma2. I checked my arma2.cfg and I realized that my card is not recognized well. I searched the forums and there is this problem with latest nvidia driver, so only 256MB of my graphic card is allocated. Well, I decided then to try the 181.71 although it's an old driver. I deleted arma2.cfg and the profile and start Arma2. And the textures looks now fine, but the frames are sick! And when I play Crysis on my system with this driver I get 20 Frames less than before with 186.18 and in other games, too. I don't want to use this old driver anymore so I switched back to the latest 186.18 driver. This is very sick, I have a very good system and I cannot play this game! Shame on you Bohemians! I would like to know if anyone else has succeeded in running this game well over 30FPS with a GTX-295 on Windows7 64-bit. Any help appreciated.
