"KA weapons mods New" removed and I cant edit my mission now
dethjeff replied to dethjeff's topic in ARMA 3 - BI TOOLS - TROUBLESHOOTING
found a workaround that wont trash a mission file if a mod like this is removed..... 1 install the complete arsenal mod and place it in the editor 2 DO NOT set any modded ammo boxes or equip any players with modded weps in the editor you can now safely have modded weps that wont trash you mission if they get deleted (hopefully). Downside of course is your players must equip themselves in game -

"KA weapons mods New" removed and I cant edit my mission now
dethjeff posted a topic in ARMA 3 - BI TOOLS - TROUBLESHOOTING
Hi, made a complex base for my missions to launch from and I used the "KA weapons mod New" to have a lot of guns. Today I tried to edit the mission and I now get errors saying parts of the KA mod are broken and it wont load the mission in eden so I can fix it. -The mod is gone from the workshop,,, no access to the page -wont load in MP -from what I have seen I cant see the KA mod in the mission config file (to delete it) -the mod has been removed from my game files on my PC so I cant load it that way either. Any ideas on how to fix this? I spent about 30 hours setting the mission up and Im not happy at BIS right now. because a mod is broken it should still be removable in eden. -

One time, while he was making mission, we put an amp meter on StrongHarm's head and his brain was pulling 90Amps! I played your VIP mission and it was good too. jeff

Hey keep at the editor.... I thought you worked arma before but it is very powerful. running spec op missions with little bird insertions is really great. its fun to be the pilot but getting on the ground in arma is NOW really the schnizzle. The missions here i was running straight through attacks... im gonna try the funnel. the target designator is off after a while... maybe the AI need to see the enemy again to update it... maybe you need to call for smoke again. Hey StrongHarm its really cool to see you making missions here... I hope you get into it. Jeff

Hey StrongHarm... Mission works perfect. The random scenarios work great. It locked up once but i think its an alpha thing. Radioing for smoke makes you wait a few seconds before you can key it in as well (an alpha thing) It IS fun to jump in and run missions like this... But I still practice the A10 hehe I gotta learn the little bird again (its good in A3 so far!) and this mission's a great help. The units being in the same general area is helping me refine my turns and approaches. So are you gonna be playing this or waiting for more updates before making any large (an understatement by A10 terms) missions? good to see you again.. Ill look for you at SimHQ. jeff

Hey StrongHarm! good to see you making missions for arma man... Im getting this now. jeff

Ya ARMA2 is really demanding... I have a AMD phenom and it still runs choppy a lot. If you invest in a high-end I7 with triple channel RAM and a newer Nvidia card ARMA will run like Butta` Well for some reason the 2nd PS Eye is doing the same deal as before.... random vertical lines then after several minutes it goes full static. Must be something with my PC. Hopefully FaceTrack's API will be improved and become more stable. Im seriously looking at a buying a trackIR now... Looks like Ill have to become a Borg after all...sigh... Jeff

well ive bought 2 PS Eye cams and both are defective! they keep randomly putting static on the screen and then will go and completely scramble the entire image every few minutes. yippie! more chinese junk that doenst work. for the few seconds that i get it to work in A-10 it does seem more stable than my Logitech Orbit. The only thing I can figure out is that the Face track API has a serious flaw in it... you can see it when the mask it draws over your face is constantly moving and jittering around. I have a 50 watt spot light on my face (from about 10 feet away) so I am very well lit.... bummer. anyone else having issues with the PS Eye like this? UPDATE: I reinstalled the driver (after testing on a PS3, it was fine), went into device manager and removed the generic webcam profile under sound, video and game devices and now it works fine. I do find the PS Eye is indeed better than my Logitech Orbit as far as stability. Im running it at 640 x 480 (60FPS). there is no difference in CPU usage but a noticeable difference in stability of the head tracking. there is alas still some wobbling about especially when looking left/right. Jeff

i dont think the app can control the webcam unless there is some way of controlling it with an .ini file maybe. using that much CPU power isnt too surprising on a Core 2 duo.... is that on a laptop? You also need to be sure to disable autofocus and auto exposure on your webcam contrls. finally, if your face isnt lit well that will make your webcam use a lot of extra CPU to process the image.

Hi All, Installed this last night (v4) using faketrack and it works fairly well running DCS A-10C (32bit) on a AMD Phenom II 720 / ATI 4890 running Win7-64. The webcam being used is a Logitech Orbit (2 MPixel). the framerates are low (~15 - 20) even with all auto options set to off and at various resolutions (640 x 480 up to 2MPix). Im going to try to remove the logitech drivers and see if the MS drivers work any better. I just wanted to mention this camera as it is pretty high end and expensive (~$100). I was hoping it would provide a very clear picture to FaceTrack to help stabilize the wobbles but it isnt really doing it yet (room is well lit BTW but Im going to try more light on my face). Will experiment more and report back. thanks a lot for making this V4! The prospect of buying a Track IR and being a Borg isnt appealing. Jeff
