Oh just use the normal patch. It still works for Steam I just installed it.

I just manually installed the patch on Steam. It works...so far. :)

(sigh)....ill try out the official patch. Im new to manually installing patches. Do I just put the file in directory?

Im too waiting for the Steam patch. Id much rather use a patch made for Steam than try something made for something else.

I downloaded and installed the newer version of ACRE. Previously I had 2.1.4. Before i even downloaded i was playing Arma 2 CO then I decided to update ACRE to 2.1.5. Ever since I updated it i have not been able to play Arma 2 OA or CO (by the way I bought them off Steam). I probably accidently deleted something or whatever but I dont know. When I try to start OA or CO the rectangle with the small squares shows up but then theres a pop up saying "Arma 2 OA has stopped working checking for a solution to a problem" I restarted my comp and it hasnt stopped since. I have no idea how to fix this (also I have windows 7). I dont know what other info to provide but please help me out. I didnt know what to post this in either the mod section or here, but I thought this section would be more helpful. Also if you need more info please let me know I really want to fix this. ---------- Post added at 12:42 AM ---------- Previous post was Yesterday at 11:43 PM ---------- PS. Im running mods like ACE and maps with a mod launcher. Ive restarted my comp, updated OA today, tried starting without any mods but to no avail. Only Arma 2 works. The others including the expansion packs (obviously) wont work.

Its fixed! The problem was that my ACRE files werent in the right spots I just had to move them! I appreciate everyones help!

i started OA, press ALt-Tab, started up TS3 but no luck. Any other fixes?

Another problem. I also keep getting this. Found custom addons in official game addons folders, please remove (if really custom addon): etc. Is it saying that itll need to redownload the whole thing because I aborted the previous installation because it just stopped at the mod i listed above.

When I install the mods how do I determine what folders the mods go in? I cant find that option anywhere.

I just downloaded Six Updater 2.1 and I have no idea how to use it. Im used to Yoma. All the tutorial vids on youtube are for previous versions of six updater. Need help here!

No I wasnt running ACE 2. The explosions are slightly big but doesnt even come close to arty or mortar explosions. Nice to know its being fixed.

Nice mod but plz fix the mortar and artillery explosions. They look like a slightly larger grenade explosion.

Any missions where you play as an officer in an FOB over looking the battlefield and directing a major operation? The missions in the campaign where you command an army isnt much fun when you gotta direct troops where to go while driving into battle with a tank. It just feels more like being a grunt.

If your Dad got it off Steam then using mods might be a little confusing.

I wouldnt call the Russians-chechyan war unbalanced. How long has that war been going on? Russia couldn't even take over Afghanistan and they aren't able to take Chechnya. But I should cut some slack for them on afghan. Mountainous warfare is challenging.

Just wanna say. I love how you start as a fresh recruit and the cutscenes are great. Also the stealth mission was awesome. Dodging patrols and attacking the towns were pretty cool. This campaign with Vopsound and warfx = awesome!

The Chechyan-Russian war would be so awesome right now. Do you have any idea how cruel they are to each other in war?! (shivers......)
