I too get crap FPS when playing multiplayer even though I change my settings to the lowest possible, which makes next to no difference. FX8150 ASROCK 990FX Extreme 3 MSI 4870 HD 8GB AMD DDR3 OCZ SSD 3TB HDD OCZ 750Watt Power Supply I can run Arma 2 with pretty high settings at a decent FPS but not this. I've tried around 4 different drivers with ARMA 3 and also monitored my CPU and GPU usage. CPU didn't use over 40% and GPU bounced from 26% to 34% throughout an online game but only getting 8-14 FPS at 1080P (low settings).

I was a massive fan of Op Flash and enjoyed most at LAN Parties because people used to work together using team work. I didn't get ARMA 1 but decided to get ARMA 2 and although there is a bundle of things to patch there is great potential in the game except for one thing. I've been a gamer since the ZX81, going through the C64, Amiga 500, 1200 and then onto PC. I've ran a UK gaming community for over 10 years and played through everything Multiplayer like CS (beta 3), through BF1942 (DC) to BF2 (Reality Mod) and the COD series. I am in the UK military so not a kiddie and wish to play this game in a serious manner with my friends who are also Servicemen. Now don't all jump down my neck here but I thought that the ARMA community would be bereft from clowns and bellends but it sadly seems that every server I jump on reminds me of the day they released counterstrike as a retail product. that community soon filled up with twats and kiddies who thought that spoiling other peoples pleasure was more important than working as a team to complete an objective. Over the last two days I've experienced the worst kind of team killing since Counterstrike and every server has dickheads taking off in heles on their own and people sitting in their own spawn site just mowing down everyone that spawns. This has happened on every single server and its as much fun as pulling a tooth. I even got banned from fantastichen server today after I flew three shuttles to the LZ in the Osprey today dropping off over 30 troops. As I got back to the MOB I was rocketed which caused the aircraft to yaw left. In a bid to get it on the ground I tried to steady it and slowly bring her down away from the main hele pads to avoid a collision and what did I get for my troubles? A fucking Ban. What sort of community is this for gods sake?

Take the Airport - A large scale mission

Okay I might be thick here but do you have to install the sen_weapons on the server as you would on your own install and the same for the hele model? -
Take the Airport - A large scale mission
wobbly replied to CaptainBravo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
In the server config Twilight is the mission that we set to default to. So when we try to load FUBR it can't load it and it defaults back to twilight. I can't wait to get this running on the dedi. I am hosting a LAN in 3 weeks time so at least I will be able to play it alongside 35 players or so :) As for another server. Can any other dedi server operators try and run this map for fault diagnosis purposes please? -

What I mean is I log onto the dedi, get the mission screen up, scroll down to your mission, select it and the screen blinks for a second and its back to the default mission. All you see on the dedi server console is the same as the post I did earlier on. It should work like you say but it seems to attempt to load but then can't and defaults back to the default mission we have in our config. -

I've managed to get it going on my system on a lan setting but its the same as above with our dedi server. Has anyone else got it working on a dedi? If so how did you do it? CaptainBravo, my time with this mission on my own was pretty intense, well done!! -

hi there, thanks for your update. I have a few questions though. I Installed the bikeys for the PMC_Apache and Sentinel Weapons addons and the mission file from Armaholic.com onto our server and rebooted it. I then put the mission file into my MPmissions folder. After this I made two mod folders in my ARMA 2 install folder. One called @PMC_Apache and one called @sen_weapons. In these folders I put the usual Addon sub folders and put the two files (.pbo and bisign) for these addons into their respective addon folder. I then added the usual "-mod=@blah blah" into my taget line in my shortcut. After this I launched the game and joined out server which didn't pull up any problems. However, when I pull up the missions page I select the mission but it defaults back to the mission that our server is set to default to. This is the server log 12:19:50 Mission co07 Island Twilight read from bank. 12:20:06 Roles assigned. 12:20:06 Reading mission ... 12:20:18 Mission read. 12:22:57 Mission Operation_FUBR.Chernarus read from bank. 12:22:57 Mission co07 Island Twilight read from bank. Any help would be appreciated -
It seems that when I run the normal 2.1 vopsound the server says I have the wrong keys and then when I use the repack version I can get in the server but get no sound out of guns, aircraft etc.
-
I want to add vopsound and landtex to our server. I've added the keys (Landtex_2009_08_17.bikey and VopSound.bikey) to the keys directory on the server but when I try to join the server with the addons and it says that I am running files that are not accepted by the server. Any ideas?
-
Yes mate, restarted the server numerous times. It seems to only be the _c_ files and not the _s_ files.
-
you need to take all the .pbo files out of the sub folders and stick them directly into the vopsound addons folder inside your main arma install directory. On another note I asked for help on getting our server to allow the use of this mod. I installed the repack version of 2.1 to my install then added the key to the keys directory on the server but it throws up this error upon joining the server. Files "@vopsound_2.1\addons\vops_c_environmental.pbo ", "@vopsound_2.1\addons\vops_c_fixedwings.pbo", "@vopsound_2.1\addons\vops_c_gear.pbo", "@vopsound_2.1\addons\vops_c_guns.pbo", "@vopsound_2.1\addons\vops_c_impact.pbo", "@vopsound_2.1\addons\vops_c_environmental.pbo ", ... are not signed by a key accepted by this server. To play on this server, remove listed files or install additional accepted keys. Any ideas?
-
I guess there is no solution to this so I think I will just delete the mod and live without it. It's strange that nobody else is suffering the same problems with these files yet Landtex is working now with the key files.
-
Yes mate I did as you said and installed the repack that you linked to and then put the key in the key directory on the server.
-
^^Bump^^
-
The error is: Files "@vopsound_2.1\addons\vops_c_environmental.pbo", "@vopsound_2.1\addons\vops_c_fixedwings.pbo", "@vopsound_2.1\addons\vops_c_gear.pbo", "@vopsound_2.1\addons\vops_c_guns.pbo", "@vopsound_2.1\addons\vops_c_impact.pbo", "@vopsound_2.1\addons\vops_c_environmental.pbo", ... are not signed by a key accepted by this server. To play on this server, remove listed files or install additional accepted keys. Now being a bit of a noob with regards to ARMA II (Big fan of the original Op Flash though) am I to add the _c_ files to the addons directory as well as the _s_ files or am I just being an idiot? Are the C and S files Client and Server? I don't know. Thanks for your help btw mate. Landtex is now okay for some reason,
-
Yes fella I restarted the server.

Hi there, Yes I restarted the server. I have both Landtex and vopsound keys on the server and both installed on my machine and the server is saying that all the files from both mods are not allowed on the server. I am using folders in my main install, one called @LandTex and the other @Vopsound_2.1. These are the only 2 mods I have installed. -

Hi there, I've added the keys to our servers KEYS folder for landtex and vopsound21 but when I try to join I get booted saying that the files on my system are unsigned. Any ideas? Its almost like the server isn't looking at the keys directory. -
Just a quickie lads and lasses. We have a server running now and want to add this but need to know how to add it to the server. Also, if we do add it do you need to be running the mod to join the server or can you join it without? I have put the key file in the in the KEYS directory on the server. Do I need to do anything else like add the files to the server too? Sorry for being a noob but its the first time I've had anything to do with running an ARMA2 server. ---------- Post added at 04:43 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:35 PM ---------- Doh, found out how to do it but still need to know if you need the mod installed to actually join a server running it.

Okay I'm thick. I've tred joing a server with this installed and it keeps rejecting my connection. I put all the files into the correct directory and the scenery is now bloody outstanding. Any ideas? Could it be that the key files on the server are different? -
I am looking at sorting out a dedicated server to run ARMA 2 but I am a bit confused as to what OS will run it. Obviously Linux but when it comes to windows OS's I'm confused as to what it will run on. In the BIS wiki for dedi servers it says ARMA 2 will only run with windows XP as the OS. Is this true? The reason I ask is that I've seen posts on these forums where people reckon they are running it on Windows 2000. I just need to clear this up before I lay out a shed load of cash on a server. Any help would be appreciated.
