Thanks, Stagler! You saved me some searching! :) nettrucker: I will remember to search from now on before posting. Again, my apologies.

How do I get AI to patrol in an endless loop in the editor? Edit: Just realized that this was placed in the incorrect forum section. My apologies! Could a moderator or administrator please move this to the appropriate area?

Player looking for squad (not for squads to post looking for players!)
EightSeven replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SQUADS AND FANPAGES
This is my second attempt at establishing communication with an organization that suits my needs. I'll get right to brass tacks on those: - mature, populated, and active roster of knowledgeable, experienced individuals - effective use of communication and combat skills - no wasted effort trying to bring real-world techniques into the game where they do not apply (my biggest gripe about most realism units, though I still love them!) - the realization that ArmA2, though an advanced simulation, is still a game and that it will be treated as such by this recruit Speaking of this recruit... My work schedule is rotational and will periodically prevent me from attending regularly scheduled meetings/competitions/practices/drills/etc. While I will do my absolute best to meet unit participation requirements, I ask that I only be approached with the understanding that this is still a game and that the game comes after my real-life priorities (sleep not being one of them!). That said, I still feel that I can bring a lot to the right group of people. I've been around the block more than a few times and know what works and what doesn't when it comes to military simulations and realism units. My real life training is entirely private sector, so I don't have a "big-Army" mentality to slow the process of transitioning to the game world. I've been a gamer for almost as long as the term has existed and I've played practically every major title released for the PC platform, and many for consoles! I could go on, but I'm sure that a summary would be better appreciated: - I have Ventrilo & TeamSpeak 3 and am familiar with their use. I own a headset and believe in PTT! - I have a TrackIR and a joystick and have almost as much flight time in ArmA 1, 2, and OA as a real pilot! That said, I still believe in the power of infantry as the ultimate power on the battlefield. - I've been through dozens upon dozens of digital bootcamps. If I had a nickel for every time someone taught me how to walk in formation over the net, I'd be rich. I've also been the one teaching a bunch of times, too. - I understand the importance of a chain of command, but I also understand the importance of personal dignity and the fact that this is a video game that we're playing. I seek an enjoyable gaming atmosphere where I can destroy the enemy and have a laugh while doing so! Looking forward to hearing from you! -
Will my PC Run this? What CPU/GPU to get? What settings? System Specifications.

I have the same processor and motherboard, but I'm running an ATI HD4890 and 4GB DDR2 RAM on Windows 7 and Operation Arrowhead runs smooth on high settings, 3k draw distance, and 1920x1080 resolution. I think you'll be good to go. Your bottleneck will be your graphics card, but I really don't seeing it hamstringing you. -

Been playing online shooters, combat sims, flight sims, role playing games, strategy, etc. since the late 90's. I've done a lot of realism, have experience in management and skills in web development. Real-life shooter and team captain. TS/Vent + microphone and broadband connection. Eastern timezone and prefer playing on servers in the sub-100 ping zone. Looking for a group of good people who know what they're doing to play with. My work and competition schedule will conflict with any participation requirements you may have, but I am willing to sit down and work something out. I contribute financially to the teams I join. -

So I downloaded the sprocket.exe app' and it completed downloading successfully, but I don't know where it placed the OA installation files. When I try to start the sprocket.exe app again it just tells me that the files are already downloaded. Uhm... -
Purchased on Sprocket yesterday. Now I just need to figure out where this installer places the files!
-
I suppose a regular digital download would install just like the retail copy, so I wouldn't have any problems.
-
Which is the better bet? I had purchased the retail version of A2 after some friends of mine had difficulty with the Steam one. Is this going to be the case with Arrowhead? Steam will allow me to get it earlier - I'm just worried about mod compatibility.

Arrowhead seems to be bringing many things that ACE has to the table. How will this affect the ACE mod and will it continue in Arrowhead? -

Oh, I am most certainly aware of this and I find it really useful when playing with a human player (though a royal pain when I'm working with AI), but what I've found is that only certain missiles (I think only the 114L's) will lock onto anything from the gunner's seat, and the laser ones tend to just fly straight from the aircraft, regardless of where the gunner crosshair is pointing. I've since installed Mando Missile and it has rectified my problems, but I'd like to not have to rely on another mod to fix my issues with another. lol -

How about that attack chopper missile issue? I can't fire anything but hellfires and cannons in ACE. What changed, how do I overcome that? -

I love everything ACE brings to the game, but the update process bugs me. You guys are more productive than any "professional" team I've ever seen, but do we really need three updates a week? It almost feels wrong for me to be saying that, after all the developer neglect which has become common in the mainsteam gaming industry, but it's a pain to be all up to date before the servers, or vice-versa. It is my firm opinion that there should only be one update per month, and perhaps weekly hotfixes for those real burning issues that need to be fixed right away. I've noticed a lot of servers reverting back to vanilla because of the current update tempo. Anyway, that issue aside, is there a way around the whole missile problem? The attack helicopters are rendered useless without an additional missile addon in ACE.
