There are different aspects to roleplaying the part of a Slave. I think previously I mentioned the series of "Gor" Novels by John Norman. He wrote of a fantasy "counter-earth" society where slavery was the norm. The hero (Tarl Cabot) spent much of his time as a slave and there were times later when he became master, and back to slave again. I don't think this fits into the ARMA world. Here I'm thinking of scenarios more like what has gone on and is still going on in the real world. Let's face it, slavery today is a reality. Yesterday I listened to an interveiw on NPR of someone high up in U.S. anti-slavery enforcement and he was discussing the fact that it is actually occurring on U.S. shores but the enforcement community is tiny and the population often does not recognize it happening right under their noses! Anyway, the setting of ARMA will work wel for "blood diamond" type scenarios and that is what I'm going to look into first - once I get back. BTW, I really think the poll results are interesting. Since the first day, the percentages have stayed pretty constant.

Thanks for the serious replies, there were some good ones. Well, ARMA 2 is scheduled to become available for me tomorrow, and I'm REALLY looking forward to it. Unfortunately I just got myself involved in a sailboat delivery that will keep me away from home (Seattle) for most of July - fun and adventure of another kind! My plan at this point is to play the game and learn what I can about it as a player. I'll probably visit the RP-MODS "Chernarus Life" server and start roll-playing my Slaver character a little as well, just to get to know that community and how they are approaching the game. I'm sure the SP/MP game will hold my attention long enough to learn the normal ways of playing. This will probably lead to me doing some modding work to create some kind of slave camp mission. Probably something like the "mine" in Blood Diamonds - maybe based on a coal mine or other operation not to difficult to model at first (more like an open pit mine than a system of tunnels). There will probably be some innocent women there forced to be "comfort women" for the slavers also but I'm not an artist so I won't be doing any body modelling soon. From here, this might expand into the ability to rescue the slaves, take them somewhere safe, perhaps recruit some of them to fight for your side, perhaps much later have relation with some of them. this all assumes something that is persistent and does not just end when the battle is done. This is the area I might be expecting too much from the game. Anyone interested in helping out, let me know, but as I say, I'll be gone for most/all of July, finishing refit on a wooden boat, doing sea-trials, then motor-sailing it the "wrong way" up the Pacific Northwest coast from San Francisco to Seattle. Thanks again for the great replies and tell me what you think of my mission idea. In MP it would be the slavers defending against the forces on the side of human rights so it will be a GIVEN that the attackers will want to limit killing the innocent victims. The slaver faction won't really care except their view of the slaves being human economic assets (and human shields). It should be interesting as a start.

Thanks for this reply Some Kind of Guy: Now this is the kind of response I'm looking for. Don't forget I cannot start playing (or modding) ARMA 2 until June 26th and I have not played ARMA. I have been doing some reasearch and I found the group trying to use the engine to create an RPG world. They are called RP-MODS.COM It seems to me that with 222km^^2 of land, assuming the buildings have interiors (I have not seen any screenshots of building interiors) that a faction might be able to set up some kind of defensable stronghold and maintain ongoing operations there ... or is this a game more like counterstrike or battlefield where you just go from one big battle to the next? For me this is not about fap. I'm healthy, slim, and in good shape, I'm happily married with an active and satifying sex life with my wife, and I simply enjoy playing realistic RPG worlds. I have been a roleplayer for almost 40 years now and I'm pretty serious about some of the charactors I have created over the years. This all started because of a bad-karma (slaver) charactor I created in Fallout 3 using the adult mods such as wasteland player and the slaving mods and want very much to play this character in a multiplayer game. I have been looking for the ENGINE that could be used to do this and the modding community interested in doing this. ARMA 2 may or may not be the one to use and so this thread is to open that discussion and see if there are modders interested in working with me on this. Some kind of Guy tells me he thinks it would be quite difficult to turn this game (engine) into a CRPG. I have pre-purchased it and will play it and do a little experimentation with some modding, I do sometimes play hack and slashers such as BF2 and COD but they just don't hold my interest for all that long. I'm still interested in using this thread to find some other modders who migh be interested in running with this idea. Thanks to those who are replying seriously to this thread.

Then consider the forces on the side of "good" who are trying to clean this all up; they can't just airstrike the base because of the innocents there, they will have to raid and decide who to shoot and whom to set free. I'm not saying free "speech = tits everywhere" as one poster suggests, but that side of it is for realism and depth of content. You are a good guy who just saved a woman from a life of prostitution and you may find yourself with a girlfreind, now you have to put her somewhere safe and protect her... when you visit you may just get some... So, since I still cannot load up the game since it is not yet available here, my question is will the engine and the modding community support this kind of depth? One question is - is the world persistant? I have not seen a video with a building interior yet, are my expectations for this engine too high?

Hopefully the developers and those modders who are interested can fix the bugs. Other modders might work on this sort of content - I'm NOT suggesting BI take it on. and yes, I am mainly interested in the RPG potential of this game and engine. I find that playing the "hack and slash" games (including World In Conflict, COD, etc) does not hold long term interest for me personally, however it is the games where I can actually roleplay a charactor that I keep coming back to - with different charactors, good and bad. Mainly I am more interested in developing, via the modding community, this ENGINE into the RPG I have long awated -- however I also see how these ideas could also work in a large scale warfare scenario - raiding or defending forced labor camps, prostitution, whores being emigrated/immigrated to service the troops... this has all happened in warfare before and (god forbid) may happen again if it is not already happening now. The beauty I see in ARMA 2 is that you can join the "good" or "evil" (dependng on your point of view) factions and that you DO NOT kill everything that moves - yet, this game has extensive multiplayer. It would be interesting to see how many players will defend the prostitution ring and get a little nookie for doing it!

check out rp-mods: http://rp-mods.com/Forum/wbb/index.php?page=Index Also, there could be missions to defend/raid slaver compounds where forced labor (blood diamonds, concentration camps), prostitution rings, organ harvest, or child kidnapping for "adoption" could take place. the bad Karma charactors can buy a prostitues services, rape a woman or man, or otherwise force or convince through dialog a woman/man to have sex with him. the sex need not be explicit, Some modders in Fallout 3 have been using a fade-to-black effect. I must say that I have not yet been able to start playing the game, but it seems the engine would support this kind of modding...

I should defend myself on this one: First off, if you knew me you would know that I am the last person who would ever support slavery in any form in real life - I am an american liberal and belive in equal rights, self determination, and fair treatment and opportunities for all. BUT THIS IS NOT REAL LIFE, IT IS A GAME. for the most part, I have been playing good aligned charactors ever since I started playing D&D edition 1 (d&d, NOT ad&d AND yes, I am that old). But recently I have been playing a bad-karma charactor in Fallout 3 along with some of the adult mods, slavery mods, etc that are available for that game. That charactor is nothing like me personally, but it is fun and interesting to make the bad moral choices in FRP where those choices hurt no-one. I have been wanting to bring this charactor to a multiplayer game and see ARMA 2 as possibly the game engine that could support this. No other engine I know of can support my ideas for how this might go. Thanks for your attention.

I live in the USA and have pre-purchased ARMA 2 on Steam. I'm awaiting it's availability and looking forward to see what can be done with it. After searching for terms that might be related to Adult content (sex, nude nude models, slavery, etc). I have seen no mention of it, which surprises me and makes me suspect that perhaps the forums have been cleaned of such discussion in an attempt to preserve a rating of some kind. I'm no pervert, but I have been playing a low karma charactor in Fallout 3 along with some of the adult mods. I'm wondering if it would be possible to create scenarios, models, factions, etc, that include nude adult models, sexual content, slavery, etc. I could envision organized crime syndicates or warlords, based on slavery, prostitution, etc. My question: is there a repression of such adult content, little interest, or perhaps some link to some other area where this is discussed and such mods are or can be made available? Perhaps I am expecting too much of the game and this type of scenario is impossible to create by the modding community? Thanks

I have been playing a slaver character in Fallout 3 whom will I'll be bringing to Arma 2. I'm guessing that the developers have not considered this angle but if folks are interested... we may need some folks who can do some development and maybe we can start something. Those interested, contact me. My username is ARGold, but I'll be playing the character - Randy... join him or fight him, but slavery is real; always has been.
