What is this setting? It seems the be the most signifcant detriment to visual quality and performance. As I can tell from playing with it, when it slides all the way to the left, it makes everything blurry and generally makes the graphics crap. All the way to the right seems to make the game look like it should.

The voice acting and general cinematics are exceptionally bad. Typically, you can forgive games such as Men Of War for really crappy cinematics, but ArmA 2 brings it to whole new level. I think there is a basic lack of artistic ability with the development crew. Take this example... The first mission in the campaign is a covert ops, 4 man night mission. I mean, wtf!? Talk about being thrown in the deep end with the paedophiles! Could I not have been eased into the game with some daytime patrol mission?!?!? It's jam packed full of bugs. It simply doesn't work. I can't play it even though I want to.

I sympathise with disgruntled customers. This is by far the worst developed game I have ever purchased.

I think this is broken. I played my first mission, commanding 3 other men. I ordered ¬, 1, 1 (all return to formation)... advanced 300m, turned around and surprised to see myself totally on my own. I quit the game rather sharpish.

I've played multiplayer twice: 1st time... CTD after 10 minutes. 2nd time... Server got dance-hacked This game was released prematurely.

1. I crashed to desktop (not responding) after playing about 10 mins of a MP Coop game. Latest patch and graphics drivers. 2. I notice as you move around and look around, the visual appearance gets blurred. Then when you stop, it gets sharper. What is this, and can it be disabled????

Getting this graphical bug every so often, which makes the game unplayable. Then, jumped in a chopper in mission editor, flied around for a bit until the same bug occurred, then I get a CTD ...

Does anyone have an inclination to "why" there are so many problems with this game? I'm very curious. More and more these days i'm seeing games being released with a plethora of technical problems. Could it be the credit crunch? Do developers have low budgets and short deadlines?

Considering the size of the game? It would be interesting to measure the bug:size ratio of todays games. I would assume ArmA II performs badly on that scale. I'm not going to report all the bugs because it's like working for BA, for nothing.

This is getting silly. How the hell do i climb over that obstacle on USS K.S.?

I think sticking to the clunky control mechanism was a mistake. It feels awful, especially today. The game is heavily bugged from a graphics point of view, but also some game mechanics are buggered. I sympathise with Balgorg.

Normal setting doesn't seem to change anything. Low setting I refuse to try, since it changes lots of graphics settings to minimal, and thus makes the game ugly. E.g. Can't see the slides in the 1st mission briefing.
