  1. Sorry to have say this, but the joy I first had when switching to windows 7, has now turned to disappointment again. I tried out a number of 30 player Evolution severs today and have to say my FPS sucked again. I could only manage a frame rate of around 16 -27 and this is on a clean install of windows 7. I was also getting horrible player clipping, so shooting at any moving targets was a nightmare. I really don’t see the point in having such a massive map when it struggles with only 30 human players and a number of Ai on it. What FPS were Bis getting when they tested this game? And what hardware were they using? I would also like to know if Bis see the Fps as a problem they can fix, or are we just going to blame it on mine and other people's computers?
  2. Thanks to Bulldogs I may just have found out part of the problem. I have just tried running this game on windows 7 and I have noticed a much improved FPS - I am now getting a 26-34 FPS, instead of the 20 FPS I was getting. I know it's not a fantastic improvement, but anything is better than 20 FPS. Sorry to say this guys but it looks like Vista 32bit killed my game. I only hope Bis can do something for the Vista users!! SWAT BigBear - I am using Geforce 260 GTX.
  3. I am trying this game on windows 7, but can only play the game in a windows screen. I cannot get it to play in a full screen unless I set the resolution to 1920 x 1200, and I know that resolution would be a kill off any decent fps. When I try any lower resolutions this is when my screen changes to a window view. I have a Geforce 260 GTS with the latest window 7 driver installed, but how do I run this game in full screen on any of the ingame resolutions.
  4. Placebo - This isn't only about me posting a complaint about Bis, there are a large number of posts about this issue already. So for everyone who counteracts my claim about FPS, there is also somebody who is having the same issues as me. Also, I have not mentioned which driver I am using simply because I have tried all the obvious fixes before posting. I have tried all different drivers, all different settings, but like so many others have already mentioned, nothing seems to fix this issue. I also feel like the rest of the ones who are having the same issue, that it's is down to Bis to do the fixing here. Keycat - This is a forum and this thread is under "Troubleshooting," so lose the silly comments like "whining/nagging." If people are experiancing problems they have every right to post here without the funny remarks. Bully for you if you are not having any issues, but this thread is for people who are.
  5. The reply above really had me "LMAO," it's that daft. Seriously dude, don't you think they have had plenty of time to get this spot on? They have had all the time from Armed Assault 1 to get this right, so don't give me this rubbish > "Some things just don't happens over a night or two." Most people think Armed Assault was just one big beta, so wouldn't you of thought Arma 2 would of come on leaps and bounds since then?
  6. As I thought, no comment from Bis. It would seem the days of ofp are well and truly over. I look back then to when Bis would regularly help out with issues on these forums, but I suppose back then there wasn't a forum littered with complaints. How on this earth do they expect people to play a game that has such low Fps? Surly Fps should be first priority when producing a game - Everyone knows that this is the most important factor in a game. I just cannot see a magic patch comming along that will fix my Fps. I only hope Ofp2 isn't any near as bigger let down as this is.
  7. Since this has gone to page 3 without relpy, I now feel the need to bump the thread. I know people are using windows 7 to play this game, so how do I fix this issue? Or are you already playing in full screen without the need to fix anything?
  8. You don't have a problem in windows 7 right? Well I tried it on windows 7, but could only play the game in a windows screen. I could never get it to play in a full screen unless I set the resolution to 1920 x 1200, and I know that resolution would be a killer so I gave up. What resolution are you using in windows 7 and how did you get it to play in full screen? Also, what are your FPS and your settings? I have a Geforce 260 GTX with latest drivers for windows 7 and I still cannot get it to play on a lower resolution with a full screen. Can anyone help with this - Thanks!!

How Satisfied with Arma2 Are you??

The game is unplayable for me even though I have a decent computer. So for those reasons I will have to say the games sucks.
  10. The Multiplayer aspect of this game has got to be the worst I have ever seen in a game. How on this earth are you suppose to play this game online with so much lagg? I have a 10 meg connection and a ping of 17ms, but all I get is massive lagg. Looking back at Ofp and how great that game was, it makes me scratch my head and wonder where Bis went so wrong with this effort. With this game it seems they went wrong at every turn. I played Ofp for 4years soiled and have already given up on Arma 2 up after just 3 days.
  11. Edited - I have found a better fix that works and will post it in a new thread.
  12. I have made a new post since it turns out that I am not getting multiplayer lagg at all. However, what I am getting is constant multiplayer freezing every few seconds. What can I do to fix this freezing issue since I have tried everything I know already. I have tried defraging the harddrive and all sorts, but nothing seems to work. List of my spacs below: CPU: Amd64 dual core 3.21 Ghz motherboard: Asus Crosshair Memory: 4gb Graphics Card: geforce260GTX Soundcard: Audigy Gamer windows: Vista 32bit home Monitor: iiyama 24 Inch lcd TFT
  13. You say you have no problems? Well maybe you would like to share your secret of a lagg free game. I think most people here already know that if you connect to a sever with high ping you are going to have problems... I know it's the first thing I learnt when I started online gamming. Maybe you are playing a four man coop or maybe it's a single player coop and that's the reason you have no lagg...Please go and play warfare with thirty players and come back and tell me you have no problems. Because I certainly don't feel it's my 10 meg connection that is at fault, or my computer that I would consider to be a very good rig. So I'll repeat what I have said -Would you mined explaining the secret of your lagg free games to everyone!!
  14. Now I know why only the good games release a free beta that you can test and play before you buy.
  15. Lima-14 - The problem been is how long do they need? They have had as far back as Ofp and Arma 1 to get the netcode right - I really never thought a game in this day and age could play so bad online.
  16. Cobalt Uk - Bis just don't seem to make progress from there past mistakes! How can the multiplayer aspect of this game still be so bad - When in Ofp they seemed to master a game that wasn't really built with multiplayer in mind. I was very disapointed when Armed assault 1 arrived, but I have to say Arma 2 is the the biggest disapoinment of the lot. I am a member of a clan that has over thirty players and the few that bought the game to trial it for our clan have given up on it already. That to me says this will not last as a multiplayer game, it's like they made arma 2 with all the fancy graphics and such, but didn't realise that no computer is good enough to run it all. I even joined a sever tonight that had all the terrain switched off and yet still it was unplayable.
  17. Since Fps have a major impact on how a game plays out, isn't it obvious to you that alot of people will post about it? This is a forum and this post is under a section called "TROUBLESHOOTING." Now may I suggest this, if you don't wish to help or read the posts, then it would be a good idear to stay out of them. Can I will also assure you - THAT NOBODY HERE IS FORCING YOU TO READ THIS. I also notice you are not a Moderator, so you don't even have to visit the forums and read what you consider crap if you don't want to.
  18. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sorry to say this, but this game runs terrible for me and I have what I would call a half decent computer. Most of my settings are on normal and at 25 fps I feel like I am running through treacle. Another fault I have come across is in wooded areas, they are pitch black for me and no amount of adjustments to setting stops this. I have tried adjusting gamma and brightness, but this only results in outside of the forests been to bright. The other faults I have ran into is the occasional freeze, I am currently trying to workout if this has anything to do with radio chatter, as this appears to happen when radio chatter kicks in. May I also add that all my other games on this computer run very smooth and I have never had a crash to desktop yet. Motherboard: Asus Crosshair Graphics card: Geforce 260 GTX Memory: 4GB CPU: Amd Athlon 64 x2 3.21 GHz SoundCard: Audigy Gamer Wndows 7 BTW - I have also tested this on my vista 32 bit and it runs just as bad if not worse. I also have the 505 game with 1.01 patch already installed.
  19. I have looked where you have suggested but I don't dont see any such setting.
  20. The mod said the resolution was weird because it didn't exist. I made a mistake with the resoultion, but have since edited my post and put in the correct resolution I use. The monitor I have is a iiyama 24 inch Lcd TFT. I have tried all different resolutions, but my game plays really slow and unplayable for me. The resolution I have mentioned in my post already is the only one I have found that works well for me. I would be greatfull if you could suggest some other resolution that you think would work for me, and also explain why the resolution I have mentioned already makes the game run really quick and smooth. Also, you say that by setting the FSAA to 2, that I have disabled shadows? How is that? I thought this setting was the Anti alias setting.
  21. My Anti Aliasing just remains disabled and there is no arrow at the side to enable it like there is for other options. Can anyone help me out with this, is it suppose to be locked at disabled?
  22. Erm - this post isn't about defrag! So maybe you need to make your own post. I am trying to find out info from people who use the settings I suggested.

    For gtx 295 users

Well try what I mentioned in my post above yours.
  24. Sorry I mean this -I have set interface resolution to 1280x768 and the 3D resolution to 1600x960. I also set Anti alias to 2 in the config. El nino - Try that resolution above and see if it improves your gameplay. Like I already meantioned I to tried lower settings aswell, but it gave me bad preformance and only the ones I meantion work good for me. My cpu is Amd 64 dual core 3.12Ghz. Graphics card Geforce 260GTX Memory 4GB

    For gtx 295 users

I have set interface resolution to 1280x768 and the 3D resolution to 1600x960 and my game runs really quick and with no mouse lagg. Any other resolution lower or higher than the one I mention and my game plays horrible. Please try what I have said and let me know if this works for you. One other thing mt Anti alias is set to 2 in the config.
