Some of those less than awsome ArmA2 features

Seconded! -
I have also noticed this allot with the F35... if you set up any yaw motion at high speed it quickly becomes and uncontrollable oscillation... the Yaw damper is either too slow or overcorrecting, I have a feeling that its the a bit of both. One thing to try as well is.. get the F35 into a stable hover and let go of the stick.. On my system it WILL yaw one way or another requiring rudder input to get it back... If you go to the outside view and look at the rudders you can see that they are actually the cause of it yawing like mad in the hover, as you let go of the stick in the hover the rudders slooowwly go full deflection one way or another... Very strange Ironically the real F35 has a "hands off" hover stabilisation system allowing the pilot to pretty much take his hand off the stick while in the hover... The same thing can't be said for A2 version :p

A2 Not starting after install.

Ofcourse I don't mind!.. but no.. neither of them are USB.. both are internal, plugged directly into the Mobo. Thanks man, that would be good! I asked in a gaming IRC channel and some guys said that a good way of checking if you have fade is to either try hitting ANYTHING with the M9 pistol (if you have fade rounds leave the barrel at like 45 degrees or something insane) or getting the F-35 and doing a straffing run with its gun. If the bullets come out as a nice smooth stream and its very accurate then you are fine.. If however it sprays the ground over a wide area (like 20-30 feet across) then you have a FADE problem. I just tried it and its very accurate so I am pretty sure I am okay. Anyway... I guessed that SecuROM had given me an old exe.. I will just stay offline and mess about practicing my dieing skills until 1.02 is released (soon please.... soooon oh god soooooooooooooonnn :P ) Cheers Cav -

Ok guys here is the current situation with this.. I sent a "startup analysis" to the SecuROM guys and they sent me back an edited .exe which now allows the game to start.. interestingly as soon as I get into the menu I now get an error saying " No Entry 'bin\config.com/cfgworlds.west'. " which doesn't sound good.. And I noticed that the version number in the bottom right hand corner is now 1.00.57270 which I believe is not the correct number as the 505Games version of the game (which mine is) is patched up to 1.01 Anybody got any ideas? Also.. will this updated .exe give me any problems with FADE? and is there any way of telling if I have already triggered FADE? Cheers Cav -
Hiya all.. Just got my shiney new Arma II through the post this morning.. Installed it as soon as I got home from work.. Install went through with no problems at all.. I then go to launch A2 from the desktop icon and what happened next... Precisly bupkus... nada.. zip.. nothing.. not a fricking thing. Not even an error!? I have searched around here and found a few other people have had a similar problem and its been caused by the disk-check during program start up.. With this in mind I have updated both my DVD drives's firmware ( Plextor PX-755A and a Samsung SH-D162C ) to there latest version.. made sure both my GFX drivers and Direct X is fully up to date... I dunno what else to check.. I have tried Installing the game from each DVD drive.. and booting the game with the DVD in each drive. And no, I don't currently have any programs such as Deamon Tools or whatever running... I have 'aquired' a no-CD crack and that does solve the problem, the game boots perfectly, but I would rather run this game legally, as its meant to be run and not using a crappy workaround. (I know that last sentence will probably get me banned/flamed or whatever but meh) Any input on getting this game working as it should would be greatly accepted. Thanks! :D Cav
