I have it on PC, Steam, buying iMac 27

Why wouldn't a home built PC with a good sound card not be better for music than a Mac? (and the price you save from not paying the apple tax, and cramming stuff into a small space, could get you one hell of a nice sound card) -
Yes, this is something i'd very much want. mentioned it a few times around the place, but the OP really puts it into words+expamples very well.

I'd love to see some kind of heavily expanded vehicle damage system. Not this "bullets hit the car until it explodes" stuff, but proper "bullets hit the engine, it stops. and doesn't freaking explode". I'd particurally like it for the helicopters though, because as it is now its really either a choice of it going down in flames and leaving a large scar on the landscape and a burnt out wreck, or just bouncing off the ground and looking completely intact (but with low 'health' of course). something between those two extremes could make for some reall interesting downed helicopter rescue scenarioes etc.

Why ArmA2 players are smarter then CS/COD.

Can't beleive how many people don't get this. Its a joke thread. OP's jokes aren't the best, but hey, i can't really do better myself right now. (least i hope it is, otherwise i'm looking mighty silly) -
There's a difference between "does justice to the game" and "is so horrible its insane" The arma2 demo aint perfect, but i'm sure its sold a lot of copies of the game, despite some of its (the demos) shortcomings.

You Know how Awesome this is?

Considering what they're up against, they do a dam good job. Think about it, regular game, say, err, call of duty (dont lynch me). As long as you don't fall through the map, can kill everyone, mission keeps running, its a good game. OFP/arma/arma2: they can make all the scripting good, good weapon balance, but 100 people will complain about the unrealistic first aid or something like that. Some people wouldn't even be satisfied by what's in ACE2, whereas others are etc. There's unlimited scope for features that make it hard to code for (also making it more impressive that they don't lose sight of the most important things to do) -
Future Expansion engine additions (Survey poll)

I'd love vehicle damage models to be greatly worked on. We have great vehicle models now, but when they blow up they just magically morph into a shell of the same thing with a little flame, or helicopters just explode etc. personally this is what i'd like to see changed next, -
Use of subsonic ammunition in ArmA2
sneakey pete replied to Inkompetent's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
I thought that the low power subsonic ammunition wouldnt work in the unspressed weapons, lets say a m4, due to the lower grass pressure not being enough to overcome the spring. Put the silencer on and it restricts it enough to work properly? (and of course, full power ammunition overpressurises it, leading to failure?) As for reasons for wanting to use subsonic ammunition in your M4 or other weapon, but without a silencer... i really wouldn't know. Sure, its not going to be as loud... but i wouldn't have though it would reduce to being a third as loud. Still quite a lot of noise. Of course, i can't say for sure. Don't have silencers, m4's and my own different ammunition loads in this country. -
Interestingly enough that gun he shot with probably wouldn't have even been a .50cal bullet. Still, i would be interested to know what a reuglar .50bmg round (eg, not a extra special long range accuracy one. what the average M82a1 would be issued with) would actually do at ranges of 2.7km. wouldn't the bullet become unstable by that sort of flight length?
-
I thought that was already partly in game: lots of bullets landing next to you causes you to loose a bit of stamina, leading to a more jumpy crosshair? or maybe it was just me going prone/getting back up to often. More sway would certianly be more realistic, though maybe not as horrible as i am with a real weapon. Think: the level of sway you get with two wounded arms, and that's what i'm like on a good day.
-
Looking at that 2.7km shot, i start to wonder if the bullet would even be able to penetrate body armour at that range. If i have time later i might write an iterative python program to get a handle on how slow the bullet was going then. Need to refresh my knowledge of drag first.

They cut things out of the demo, including the models for one of the guns found in the crate for the mout training. should work fine on the full game i'd imagine.
