I have noticed that arma2 can sometimes still be running in the background after a CTD. I checked task manager and arma2 is still using cpu resources after it has CTD. This game is unbelievable!

It may not be your memory. I can run memtest without any faults and my I can't play arma2 without CTD. No other game does this. I have a core i7920, GTX295 and 6GB RAM. The game has problems, wait until they fix it.

Every single time I play, I get a CTD. It only started last week so I don't know what causes it but I have changed nothing. Stopped playing game now until next patch is released and if it continues after that, I will shelve the game forever. Sorry but I don't have much free time and if I do get some free time, I am not interested in devoting it to a game that doesn't work. But then again, BI already have my money so why would they care. Is anyone gettings black and white flashing screen for a few seconds after selecting a mission?

Yes I am using GTX295 with latest 186 nvidea drivers. Also the nvidea sli patch. Just need to stop the CTD's in every game:(:(:(:(

Any help would be appreciated. Running a core i7 920, GTX295 and 6GB RAM.

I am in the same boat as you interox with same spec. Are the 182.50 drivers the best to use? To be honest, the latest 186 drivers give me better performance in all of my other games though. I have put the game back on the shelf until a patch arrives. Getting kicked back to desktop any any time has ruined this game for me. I hope BI can sort it as I am loving the game.

I have vista 64 with latest NVIDEA drivers. core i7 920 with GTX295 and 6 GB RAM. I am always getting kicked back to desktop and a black and white flashing screen befor I enter a game. This is terrible for a game like this.

I can see your point! It's extremely frustrating and to be honest, I don't think it will be fixed. So much for dual GPU cards, wish I never bought the bloody thing now.

Yes but remember the 360 is 720p and the graphical effects would have been turnde down. Play the game at that res with all settings on normal and you will fing the 360 could have coped no problem. But if this is the case then why not release the game on 360 or are we PC gamers doing a beta test before it comes to 360!!!!!!

Core i7 920 OC'd3.2GHz, GTX295 with latest drivers, 6GB 1600MHz RAM and vista64. Performance differs all the time, sometimes it's perfect and then the game goes downhill and only a sytem restart will fix it. Getting kicked back to desktop all the time and sometimes cannot suspend from campaign and have to use task manger to stop arma 2 and then have to do system restart. Is BI going to fix GTX295 issue or will nvidea sort it.

I have a core i7 920 OC'd to 3.2GHz, GTX295, 6GB RAM and vista 64. The game runs fine for the first 20 mins with native and 3D res set to 1900x1200.all settings very high and view distance 4000. Latest drivers and EVGA SLi patch used. Then after 20 mins it all goes downhill, the framerate drops everywhere including the flyover on the aircraft carrier on the options screen. I am getting kicked back to desktop and sometimes I can't quit and I have to use task manager to close down arma2. On a small note, go prone when in water and you don't drown. Bug or have the men got scuba gear? LOL. I am loving the game but I think I will put it back on the bookshelf until it is sorted. In all respect to BI, the game is extremely ambitious and I never expected it to work perfect on release.

I have 6434MB allocated to page file memory but is that enough? It says 9201MB is recommended so should I change it? Also in task manager I have 6134 MB total and 4705 cached but there is 331 free, is this okay? Thanks.

What is the most popular view distance setting/number for the whole campaign? I have everything on very high, AA normal with 3d reloution 1900x1200 and it runs great. But i don't want to sacrifice view distance for better graphics. What would be the lowest I can go on view distance yet not to low that I could be sacrificing gameplay.

I was getting errors too. I got rid of the new drivers with EVGA patch and reinstalled new drivers with new arma 2 1.2 patch and it now works. I think the EVGA patch conflicts with patch 1.2

I run driversweeper and reinstalled the nvidea drivers. Seems fixed. I think the new EVGA sli patch for arma2 may be conflicting with the new 1.2 patch.
