You know it almost makes me laugh... A BI dev comes in the thread and says they are looking into it and would like some feedback, isn't that an official statement saying they recognise the problem and will try fix it? As soon as some one says they have this mouse problem they get accused of wanting to make this game a twitch shooter and then the people who dont have the problem jump on them saying "lol its realistic gtfo" So whats next? Shall we say to the people with ATI cards getting graphic corruption that its realistic because some people have bad eye sight in real life? As far as I see it and looking at that video the people with mouse problems don't want to be able to spin 360 degrees in a blink of a second but what they want is their weapon to move when they move the mouse not a fraction of a second later.
-
lol that wasn't a sniping rifle round.
-
May sound like too simple an answer but if you are not sure don't take the shot. Watch the direction he is travelling in, weapon he is using, colouring of uniform shape of helmet etc etc. But the most important one... talk to people around and work with them rather than trying to go solo (Not aimed at you or assuming you are doing that.. just an observation)
-
Bingo, have 10 points :-)
-
Yup, get it square on in the lid and you will be going down no matter what. Alot of troops got a bollocking for taking them off because the advantage of wearing them was outweighed by the drawbacks. But the same goes for vests too, it will of course lessen the impact,I think I have heard the words ballistic barrier being used in place of bullet proof for obvious reasons. I'd say the game was pretty close on the mark, not exact but I wouldn't like to try and guess the physics behind it all. Video above, I read the round struck him in the equipment that he had rigged to the vest and he was still injured, just wasn't a fatal or fully debilitating hit was all.
-
The vests given to the guys in iraq are no where near what you need to stop a 7.62 round. If they were to wear protection to stop that kinda round they would be too restricted. Scary enough the main use of the vests are to keep your inside bits on the inside if you do get unluck and catch one but they don't tell you that bit on the news do they ;-)

Holy crap you guys worked this late on a friday night to get the patch out??? For every one who may have bad comments about how BIS do things, name me one other games company that would do this and then have senior members of staff post on the forums? Damn good work that. -
The Eagle (ArmA2) has Landed: 505/North America Territories, got yours yet?

Great, first you get ArmA2 then you get your thread locked real soon hehe Ninja Edit: Placebo must be in a generous mood to merge it rather than delete it lol -
I played silent warriors server a lot with A1 and now A2 is here I don't see a reason to change. See you in there :-)

Yet another video using the same tired sound track. Seriously the amount of videos using this sound track is killing it... Never mind blackhawk down it should be put the soundtrack down!

When I was testing it I was only on the keyboard and mouse with default keybindings. Surely if it was device/keybinding causing it than it would manifest across all planes and not just two (for me).
-
When I said I was not out of control it was mostly toward Paladin who said he would lose control of the plane with it, I fully agree the plane should nose about like that. But yeah I am more than confident it will be sorted.
-
Well just a quick blast around in a few of the planes in the armoury and on my end it and I can so far only get the "nose wobble" in two planes, the F-35 and the AV-B. Even then its only a slight wobble and I wouldnt say I was out of control. The SU's seemed very solid and no nose wobble at all.
-
Is it particular to one plane or across them all? In fact bugger it, firing up the armoury now to test a few planes at high speed (heh any excuse really)
-
I've noticed a little "swinging" in the nose of the plane but not enough where I am not in control.
-
Arma2 isnt like this thread... arma2 has a future.
-
From what I am seeing flying seems to be a lot easier than it was in ArmA1.

Yeah mine just landed on my door mat and is installing right now. Curious as to where this pre order PDF map is now though, any one shed any light on that one? -
how can i improve my situational awareness?
luckypsd replied to okarr's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Woot first time poster here bout time I did... I know the TrackIR is a great tool but with its price I got myself the cheap man's version of it in the shape of an N52 speedpad. Puts all my controls right at hand but the bit that raises my awareness is I have mapped the d-pad to the look around option that is normally the number pad. The amount of times a quick flick around has saved my neck means its worth its weight in gold and is a lot cheaper than a trackIR (though admittedly not as powerful).
