  1. I recently reformatted and went to windows 7 x64. I cannot run the game in fullscreen mode, It will not display my monitors supported resolutions (only application that doesn't). It gives me a list of just out of this world un-standard resolutions. I've updated my drivers, and tried different ones (Catalyst 9.6, .7 and i'm on .8 right now) I can play in windowed mode, BUT here is my other problem. When trying to get some internet games, the browser finds them then removes them. So I'm left with nothing but two X's and a host session button. http://img180.imageshack.us/img180/1685/bull.png That's what i get. Nothing but problems... I am at a loss of what to do.
  2. yea i got the server browser working, But still can't play fullscreen

    VopSound 2.1

What? I don't understand what you mean here, a clarifying word might be missing... Really lost at what this means.
  4. It'd be cool if someone could make an AC-130 gunship :).

    Patch 1.03 suggestions

One thing that really bothers me is the Voice chat, No matter the server i play on, eventually it will get all chop-tastic, Inaudible. Also Vsync off would ruuulleee
  6. Hmm, They do for me, Which difficulty setting are you playing on? Normally it would take 2 smaw rounds before they smoke/bail out of a t-90.
  7. You can hear it yes, But I'd recommend vopsound2.0. Seriously improved sounds for everything. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=74004
  8. I never did understand why at night, NO LIGHT EXISTS EVER. We were converging on a town and there were street-lights, vehicle lights, but if you took your NVs off, Hah! You weren't seeing bunk...

    ArmA II is #1!

Hopefully the rampant team killing and base killing ends.. I've played games where people jump in, Shoot the gear supplys and leave. Horrible.

    Updated patch 1.02.58134

You should make sure from now on to mention that steam users should never ever use retail patches :) My fault totally though, I was just overly excited to play the game finally. Re-downloading the game, going to take a few hours though...

    Updated patch 1.02.58134

Steam mocks me by not looking at the filesystem, It just (I think it does nothing actually) checks one file. I tried this two or three times, once without the exe incase the patch i used accidentally added a securom hook. http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/1702/verify.jpg This is all i see no matter what i do.

    Updated patch 1.02.58134

So I lost my brains for a second and thought, oh boy a patch! And installed it for my steam version. http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/8595/securom.jpg I'm boned now, I didn't know steam version had securom (Or doesn't, something broke) Anyone have an idea of what to do?
  13. That card won't run the game well. the rest looks good though
  14. Get one in the east coast so I have low pings :D

    Totally Unplayable

Black lines sound like artifacts. What are your temps? You can grab GPU-Z and hit log to file, run the game for a while, and see how they are.

    Digital or Boxed Copy?

If your download was 20kb/s, that was completely fixable. https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=9498-WPDF-3220 But anyway, this topic has kind of gotten off track

    Digital or Boxed Copy?

Thats odd, I had a great connection to steam the day americas army 3 released. 3MB/s and no pauses or delays... But everyone has different experiences with the service, I have had absolutely no problems with steam in years. The last problem I can recall was the release of Hl2, but steam was in its infant stages then. I can fully recommend steam to anyone, at anytime. (At least in USA).

    Digital or Boxed Copy?

Remember, Steams version has no drm aside from steam itself. Sold it for me. Well think of it this way, That is like going to gamestop and saying "My game has a direct-x issue with my system, wtf is up?" They'd look at you very strange and probably say the same thing. Steam is an online store pretty much, unless it is a Valve game.
  20. Grab the steam version, No DRM at all (Aside from steam itself, which I don't mind one bit.)
  21. I'll be able to throw my hat in to the testing once the demo comes out, Vista 64 4gigs of system memory and a Sapphire 4870 1gb. I hope I don't have these problems, but my luck says otherwise. One thing I'm wondering, is why hasn't Bohemia fixed it if was occurring in the original arma. None of them own a radeon?
  22. There was a ridiculous amount of information in there. Read and bookmarked, Have a feeling I'll need to read that beast over 3 or 4 times.
  23. If you could, Grab a 4890. Really snazzy card. If you want to go above that, then a gtx 285 would be your bet.
  24. That PC isn't that bad, you could probably save 20% building your own, but you seem to have no intention of doing (Completely understandable). Plus you'll have some customer support and stuff through ibuypower, i've dealt with them before and they are pretty good. I'd recommend that PC for you easily. I would personally get an intel processor, but that is me.
