What does it take to run this game?

A friend of mine is running it on an E2140 C2D 1.6ghz, 2 GB of G.skill, and an 8600GT w/ all settings as low as possible w/ view distance at 1200 and at 1440X900 resolution and gets by around 20-25 FPS from what I saw last night. It is playable..not pretty, but playable. Any lower spec than that, and you will be thoroughly dissapointed.

    Should I Get It?

Complete noob to the series...and I say yes. I don't know my ass from my elbow about this game even though I've put 12+ hours in over the weekend, and I still say yes. It may be a bit buggy, but so is every other pc game ever released, and none have the sheer magnitude or ambition that this game does. The editors are friggin awesome. I can make it play however I want to play it for myself and my friends without being a rocket scientist, or a programmer. Pretty sweet. Buy it, and with some patience, you won't be disappointed.

  4. +3 here..I've forwarded it to 3 people, 1 preordered, 2 intend to purchase when it releases. That video is epic...I was tweaking my system over the weekend to see if I can pull off something similar. 2 days til it Steam drops it in the states...right on my girlfriend's birthday....I won't even get to play. :depressed:
  5. Thanks for sharing. Man, I can't wait for Friday.
  6. Just the fact that we have dedicated mods and developers keeping us up to date is saying a ton. Its pretty rare in this industry so I'm thrilled to see any info posted up here at all. Keep working at it until you're happy with is my opinion. I'll jump on it when its ready to go. I've pre-ordered, I'll download the demo if its out before the steam release, and if I find any issues, I'll post constructively about it. Nuf said. I'm sure a good chunk of the rest of you will do the same.
