    Can play MP with Alpha Lite?

    HACKING IN [THE] MULTIPLAYER. Joining servers and nuking everybody, making everybody dance, RUINING everything for everybody. And when they get banned they can just send their one lite invite they get with their first lite invite to a new steam account and do the same fucking thing over again. CHEATING. BEING MASSIVE DICKHEADS. DO I NEED TO SPELL IT OUT MORE?

    ArmA 3 System Requirements

    As a fellow diehard AMD user i have to say that AMD is not good for gaming rigs. Intel managed to "win" and AMD cant compete anymore. Their next gen desktop chipsets where indefinitely postponed and Intel now has a monopoly on high end desktops. And for Intel the extra features for the i7 does nothing for gaming compared to the i5. For the best price/performence go for an intel i5.

    ARMA 3 - still unrealistic optics

    For the average of 10 times per page in this thread and threads like it, lets repeat again. It it technically possible in Arma 3, As in the engine since take on helicopters has the functionality to produce this effect. But it is not worth the performance penalty. At the same time I have to say that the Arma 2 style optics don't cut it anymore visually. ACE Animated Scopes + Das Attorney's ScopeFX should be how they should look like at a bare minimum.
  4. Nope that is an Arma 2 issue. I once drove an Abrams tank over a small rock and got launched over 500 meters.

    ACE for OA 1.13

    Look up your arma 2 profiles .ArmA2OAProfile (In "My Documents/...") near the bottom you will find FovLeft (Horizontal) FovTop (Vertical), they are in radians. Then decide what Fov you want, lets say 85. Now go to google and put in "85 degrees in radians". Google gives us the answer 1.48352986. That is your FovLeft. Now take the value you got for FovLeft and dive it with your screens width and then multiply it by the screens height. So if you have a 16:9 screen the formula for this example is 1.48352986 / 16 * 9 = 0.83448554625. This is what you put as FovTop. And thats it.

    Well thanks. So now i know why the scopes don't work. I have edited my FOV. Because playing with 68.75493541569878° FOV (default FOV on a 16:10 monitor) is not a nice experience. And choosing between that and nicer scopes is an easy choice. But i am curious as to why only the ACOG/PSO/G36/1p29 style scopes are effected. Higher powered scopes work for me.

  8. Yes it confirmed its something they are working on. But how and to what extent is not something they have gone in to. Its already under Sort of confirmed/developer wishes.

    I really hope not. And thats just me being cynical about the ability to form critical thoughts by people that say "I only buy from Steam". Its not nuclear endoscopy to buy from somewhere that is not Steam.

An there was a lot of them. The ATC tower looked like you could camp up in. and thats nice. Actually i have to take that back. I watched it again and at least one of the warehouses have windows you can see through. So there is hope.

    Wow this is not a good sign of what to come with A3. I mean just look at the CZ 75. I have seen plastic toy guns looking more metallic. It looks like the textures were drawn with crayons. And i think they have a error in the model where the forward part of the slide is to far down causing the front ironsight to be to low and when all bullets are expended the barrel is clipping through it.

    Opinions on manual gun cocking?

    I vote yes under the assumption that it is optional (recruit vs veteran). And i hope that you will be reloading bolt actions and shotguns one shot at a time (If it makes sense for the gun, Saiga 12K vs m1014) so we can abort the reload if we want to. More features never killed anyone right?
  15. Did you download from Bohemia store? I did and it crashed for me. But when i re downloaded from other mirror it worked just fine.

    Everything except the ATI 4850 is way above the recommended specs for Arma. You should just replace it with something newer and you are set for the next year.

  18. What would you say if i told you that the Arma default FOV (for me) is 68 degrees? 1680:1050 monitor. I have increased it to 91 degrees and it results in much smoother gameplay. While not being as useless as the Fov you get from double tapping -. As in i can still see things at 600m out clearly but i have much more awareness. Id probably go up to 100 deg if i had a 1080p monitor. If you are hating on increasing the Fov and saying that those who want more should "double tap numpad -". Well all i can say is stfu and try it. I have done that and playing with a Fov of about 140 degrees you might as well be blind. Fov Slider all the way! And while we are at it, why not the ability to change all 3 values. min, default and max. So if i don't want all the "Zoom" i can dial it back a couple of degrees and set a default that feels good for me. (In this scenario get a max and minimum value to move the sliders within)
  19. Java is an convoluted POS that is so object obsessed it makes no sense. Python is the best programming language there is. However its runtime environment('s) leaves a lot to wish for especially in terms of performance. With Arma making the unfortunate move to Java I guess ill make a fifth attempt to learn it. Generally I give up when I cant properly set up the massive IDE's Java requires to even do hello world and there is never any good documentation them. Last time was with Take on Helis but the options the setup guide directed me to did not exist. People say Java is easy and great to learn but they are full of crap. I have experience in C and Python since almost 10 years but i cant for the life of me understand the IDE´s Java hides behind. First you learn the language and then you use the tools around it, not the other way around. Sorry if I got a bit passionate. I'm hopefully going back to proper school this fall to study Java. I guess we'll see then.
  20. MP-Balance is not a game design issue in Arma, Its a mission specific issue. And balance does not have to be symmetrical.

    I just got myself a ASUS Radeon HD7870. I was going to wait a bit but my 4870 (512MB) was really getting tired. The reason i got it now is that it had a ~1000 SEK (140 USD) discount... Brand new... ... So now i think I'm set for A3. At least for medium-low settings. And I'm fine with that. Ill get an SSD around Christmas and then it should run smoothly all the time.

    actually it did not work before. However it does work in Take on Helis and i think it works in the latest OA Beta. So I'm going to guess it works in A3.

    They changed/upgraded from PhysX 2 to PhysX 3 so they have to reconfigure everything.
  24. It would be great on Lingor and probably Duala as well. But mostly Lingor. But i would say that additional maps should not happen before a stable and somewhat complete base mod.
  25. I had a similar problem with PMC i just purchased. Since i installed it after i applied the 1.60 patch it was an older version. I reapplied the patch and now it works just fine.
