armafreak replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I'm on i7 920 @ 3.8, with Asus 285 Top's in Sli, latest drivers killed the game but 182.06 removes BSOD, stutter, artifacts and yeah, it hasn't frozen either.. -
Blur after changing video settings

It only happened to me while changing video options in-game with Fraps running... -
HMMMM Seems i can play without CD?
armafreak replied to aussieterry84's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Yep, I think its using ur German activation still. I uninstalled the game (I have the German version too) and then reinstalled (without formatting the drive) and it completely skipper the online registration process.. Handy to know though, as I will probably purchase the english version at some stage too... ---------- Post added at 06:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:29 PM ---------- Skipped -

Your all going to love this.... Referring to the earlier post of smooth/acceptable performance.. I applied the x64 SP2... And its rooted... down to 15-18 fps.. CPU overheated after 1 minute of campaign time and auto shutdown the computer. Now I played last night for almost 3 hours and had no drama at all. Very very strange. I'm on watercooling as well.. Its almost like the original install profile with exisiting system specs is fine, but as soon as a few parameters are changed, it all goes south.. Well, I think I know how the rest of the day is shaping up :) -

Hi all, I just recieved my rig, i7 920 (stock) Asus 285 TOP in SLI, Rampage 2 Extreme, 6gb Ram, Vista 64 SP1, 182.06 drivers. In campaign, all settings very high except AA disabled, 1900x1080 (24" Asus lcd)I'm recieving 40-50 fps (fraps). Armamark2 same settings second run 3200pts. (i will try it with binksters settings later) I have SP2 and 186.18+sli patch ready to install but not sure whether to go for it or leave everything as it is. I have no mouse lag, no texture popping, no articles.. Does someone have similar rig with Vista SP2 and 186***** with inproved performance over what I have listed? ---------- Post added at 10:38 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:37 AM ---------- improved... -
Consider those that can't play multiplayer
armafreak replied to BKnight3's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Thank you richiespeed13, I actually stopped looking at this thread as it threatened to turn into one of those self-perpetuating loads of dung that are so often prevalent on this forum. It was a simple statement, missed by those that dont share the same circumstances. In times like this a little empathy goes a long way and I really enjoy this game, I paid an absolut fortune for it (retail price + 22kb's @ $1/hour x 12 days) and I am not knocking it, I love it, but I understand where the original OP is coming from... -

Zipper5, we are not asking for anything really from BIS, especially not an increase in internet speed.. The original post was simply highlighting the difference between having the option to play MP or not. While the game is being patched, most would tune into the MP until the SP is at a playable state. But this is not a dreary feel sorry for us post, rather its a simple reflection... -

I understand exactly where he is coming from. I live and work on a tiny island in the middle of the Indian ocean. Internet streams to me at an amazing 22kb's, and I pay almost $1/hour US for that service. Now imagine how much it cost me to download it from Petergames the day after release. Well in actual fact it finished downloading 12 days after release. I've been quite fortunate with the Campaign (FPS, bugs) and am thankful for that. But yeah, miss the big city lights and high speed internet.. ---------- Post added at 09:36 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:35 PM ---------- In short, most people are happy they have MP as a backup if the SP is shonky, whereas in an isolated environment, SP is all you have. -
Badlands/warfare- how rearm squad members?
armafreak replied to vshadow's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
Sending squad members to friendly BTR's worked for me, as well as rearming Coops (only ammo though) -
I'm with you on this one. Even after I had a lovely M107 in Manhattan, I lost it as soon as I got back to base, and was left with picking over dead bodies...

Hi all, I've played through this one a few times, and each time this has worked for me.. As soon as the mission starts, shoot your medic (O'hara) twice in the leg with your AK. Heal him straight away. As soon as he can move, order him to heal himself again. While he is doing that, shoot Rodriguez twice in the leg. Order O'hara to heal him, once done, repeat on Sykes. This has worked every time, and all of them remain controllable for the rest of the mission. This also works in Badlands...

Evil sob, did you do the 2 side missions?

Post you most annoying bug !
armafreak replied to Blueshift's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Collision detection Imagine a large open field, my soldiers standing roughly 20 metres apart in a line, and a supply truck conveniently lines them up and mows them all down! Not sure if its the home distilled vodka they are drinking or there's some hooch in them hills, but if they could drive in a straight line like that on the road I would be really happy! -
Razor Two, dead end after visiting clue spots
armafreak replied to jake01's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
He can appear in many different places, then, when you do spot him the real fun begins. I've killed him twice accidentaly while trying to stop him. But it can be done (without the .50 cal usually helps ) :) Also, ask as many questions as you can from everyone that is willing to talk to you, otherwise its a huge map and its pretty easy to lose sight of objectives.. -

armafreak replied to jake01's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
Ok Ok, we were being a bit cheeky... There is no auto censoring at all.. Its Vyshnoye.. But its more fun if you speak to everybody and work it out. Thats assuming that all the scripts launch... Enjoy anyway... As for catching Bardak, thats a different story all together.. -

During the chat to Dressler, did you ask him about V * * * * * * * e? He brushes it off but thinks it might be worth a look. I included spaces....... :) -
Random SecOps in Scenario Wizard canceling themselves
armafreak replied to maturin's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Yep, all too often.. Team switch, team control and general scripting issues prevail. But we are patient, and we will see the game in its full glory some day... -
Yes. The golden AK has served absolutely no purpose no for me.... And why would you pick it up? BI?

Have you spoken to everyone that you were supposed to? Check your notes as well for a certain town V********, talk to some people there. There will also be 20 minute notification of Bardak leaving the country.. (thats if the script kicks in) -
Lost ability to switch between team members and control them : Normal?
armafreak replied to -C4-Draeger-OwP-'s topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Hmmm, I think I might need to apologise there Draeger, it is a bug indeed, the feature was my sarcasm at play. You should be able to control your characters, the only way that works for me "sometimes" is to shoot my boys in the knee, and then heal them. -
hopefully pleasing news on the crashing and black screens
armafreak replied to happygharry's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Maybe you could ask him to have a look at the scripting as well! But good luck anyway.. -
Sorry to have to ask an obvious question gunzz, and please dont take offence, but did you unzip it? I played this mission without probs at all. ---------- Post added at 11:32 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:31 AM ---------- Oh and by the way, nice mission SaOk.
