  1. I've downloaded this game from steam. And i updated it with the patch. Now when i want to play OA it asks me for the retail disc. Why is this?
  2. I have had problems running Arma2 at my system. My specs= 3,2g X4 955 black edition, 4 gig ram, two ati 4870 1gb, windows xp professional 32 bit. Running my cards crossfire made my screen have the sunflickering all the time. Playing with 1 card made artifacts specially in cities. I dicided to install windows 7 64bit version. Also by having that installing direct x 11. All i can say is.... WOW ! The difference is HUGE ! Game looks perfect, no artifacts, great FPS everywhere. My cards are running crossfire perfectly So, people who are still having problems, downloading and installing windows 7 with perhaps direct x 11 is a great try! It solved all my problems
  3. I had high hopes for the 1.03 patch. But the artifact problems still are there with my 4870 cards. Crossfire makes the light flickering going crazy. All by all... No damn fix ! Still the same problem. Im getting a little tired... Im not even going to try tweaking this damn game anymore.
  4. These artifacts appear only at places with lots of textures like the bigger cities. When im walking in the woods, i never have problems, but when im getting close to a city and looking to its direction, the artifacts come up. Then when i look at the ground or in the sky, or whatever what doesnt look like the city, it works fine again. And now by enabling Crossfire for my two 4870 1 gb cards, the white "sun" flickering happens. Really hope a patch can resolve these problems. Cause it sounds like quite a few people are having these problems with this game.
  5. With the 9.7 catalyst driver, im experiencing this problem when coming near / in towns / cities. When this happens, fps drops to 1, and is not playable offcourse, untill i alt tab it, or press at video options Default, i can play again, untill it happens again. I just deleted the 9.7 catalyst drivers totally, using driver cleaner etc, and reinstalled 9.6 again, but still keeping the problem, while before when i used 9.6 i never had this problem. Really annoying, i just cant enter villages or cities cause this happens all the time since i installed the 9.7 driver when it 1st came out.
  6. Ginnge51... u mean these boxes/squares? Well... some weeks ago when i had just 1 4870 1 gb card, i got these weird colored squares during play. Weird thing was, it only occured during Arma2 and COD:MD2. When i was playing arma1, i had no problems at all. I requested an RMA for that card, and they told me the card was unrepairable, so they send me a new 4870 1 gb card, and since then i've never have any weird squares / colors problems anymore. Problem that happens now sometimes, and that with crossfire disabled, is grey artifacts sometime pop up and make the game just unplayable. Not sure weather this is a driver or game problem, perhaps just both. These artifacts problems only happens sometimes. I press video options Default, and i can play normal again. But im glad that with crossfire disabled i got almost everywhere 50 a 60 fps no mather where i stand.
  7. Before.. Crossfire is making the game run more bad then when crossfire is disabled. So with 1 4870 1gb card i could play the game quite good, no artifact problems. With crossfire enabled the game works for a moment but artifacts will pop up and ruin it. Now... Now with the newest ati catalyst driver the game works even more bad then ever. Now i even also get artifacts using just one 4870 card. When im getting the artifacts, my fps drops from +/- 60 to 1, and then when i go back to video options and press "default" everything will run smooth again, untill at some point the artifacts arrive again and so on and so on. I expect more of BIS. Im sure this cant be just a driver problem, but also a game problem. Without all this shit this game will be great, and im loving the game when it runs smooth before the artifacts etc starts. BIS...... FIX THIS ! NOW ! DAMNIT ! my rig: phenom 2 x4 955 black edition 2 Ati hd 4870 1 gb 4mb ram windows xp pro 32bit.
  8. My pc is now busy doing the memtest86+ test. Its gonna take a long time. Now done 10 % in 1 hour
  9. Just did 3dmark and furmark test without any artifact problems. Yet, playing arma2 the artifacts are back
  10. Isnt it weird that when i play Arma1, i dont have any artifact problems. It works just great in Arma1. Does someone know an explanation why it plays Arma just fine, and when i play Arma 2 or call of duty 4 i get these artifacts. btw.. i send a rma request tot he company
  11. underclocking doesnt solve the problem, still artefacts visable. I've send an email to the company where i bought the card. It's still got 9 months warranty, so that shouldnt be a problem.
  12. So ur opinions are this has nothing to do about the driver? The card is just fucked up? Dont u guys think its a real small chance that they will accept it back and fix it, or giving me a new card? I ordered this card online.
  13. I always have cooled it more then it normally does. I got this card now more or less 3 months. I played Arma, and it worked great, no problems at all. Then a few weeks ago i thought, lets see how Call Of Duty 4 looks like with my new card. And then i saw a few of those weird squares during gameplay. But then again, After that Playing Arma it works fine, without any weird graphic problems. And now im playing Arma 2, and those squares are back, and even more then when i was playing COD 4. And, when i play Arma 2, sometimes i dont see the squares, and then suddenly they appear again. Then i press alt tab 2 times and arma2 makes a quick load and then the squares are gone again, while coming back later again. Real weird. So u guys think my card is broken? If so.. im pretty pissed of. Its quite new, and it hasnt been heavy overclocked. Even the Temps ( 80c' normally fanned ) are not that bad. And im cooling it at a temp of 60c'. Really weird this.
  14. Its not overclocked at the moment. I had it overclocked before, but not manualy The program Catalist Control Center has the option to automatic overclock the graphic card, keeping it save. I manualy got my fan running on a higher speed then it normal does. Cause normally the card gets when gaming at 80c', but cause i got my fan running faster my card is arround the 60c'. Im using the latest driver released from ATI. Graphic drivers version is: ATI Catalystâ„¢ 9.5 Display Driver for Windows XP Professional/Home Edition Intel pentium D 2.8ghz 3 gig mbram Ati radeon 4870 1 Gig Windows Xp professional pack 3
  15. Hi guys Im having some graphical issues playing Arma2. I received this game yesterday, and while playing i noticed some weird colored squares. Sometimes they are big, sometimes they are small. When i press alt tab and again alt tab the problem is solved for a short time, it comes back again after a few moments. I 1st noticed this problem few weeks ago when i played Call of Duty 4 after i bought a new graphic card ATI radeon 4870 1 Gig. I had the same weird squares. Yesterday i put in my old nvidia 8600GTS, and no problems then. Weird thing is, when i play Arma 1 i dont have any problems with the Ati card Anyone knows how to solve this problem? Its defenitly an graphic card problem, maybe the driver. Here are 2 pics. laoding menu, these squares are there sometimes. And when playing also these weird orange spots are there.
