Hi I'm loosing my faith here. I've reinstalled arma several times and usually after new install I'm able to play ARMA normally. But again today arma2.exe just totally freezes and takes 50% cpu and 12,6Mb of memory. I've tried to disable my virus scanner but that didn't help. 12 hours ago it all worked just well.

I can naturally extract the self-extracting file containing folder DXredistMar2009 and the file ARMA2Patch_1_02.exe, but are you saying you extracted this final exe file which is the actual patcher and you didn't need to run patcher at all?

I found a solution. I bought Sims3 and try to forget this episode. This is the first time I had any problems with any protection software. Too bad it had to be ARMA. :butbut:

I give up. Too bad securom killed my fun. Securom support send me a program that was suppose to help me create an analysis file for them but that didn't work. They even send me modified arma2.exe but didn't work either. F* this.

Nvidia driver rollback didn't help. Soundcard drivers for P5K mobo are old but I did reinstall them anyway. Nothing changed :(

Vista32 sp2, 2gb, 8800gt 186.08 drivers, Core2Duo E6750 and integrated soundcard.

I still can't start the game. I've removed securom and tried with version 1.0 and with 1.01. With and without virus scanner. I've tried in xp compatibility mode. I have installed it on different hdds but it just won't start. I'm lost here. It worked for a week and now nothing. Guess how pissed I am.

No idea. Sometimes the game won't start even after the first successful start after fresh install.
