You'll just have to give it time for the Beta to be out and then the full version. Arma has sadly never been much of a PvP game, but rather PvAI/coop or CTI style. There are a couple, or often just one really good PvP server that runs on Arma2. Hopefully there will be a few more servers out there for Arma3 who run PvP missions. I mean actual PvP, not the rpg style missions like Wasteland etc.

I printed one a few weeks back, on 16 pages. Just had to razor knife the edges and tape them all together. Topo map!

I am also getting the same issue as of today. Full Steam versions of all Arma2 plus addons. Trying to run in Combined Ops. I get to a load screen and it freezes. I have to CTRL ALT DEL to get the game to end via task manager. I do run DayZ but only through the Six Launcher. nvidia GTX260 Win 7 64bit 6 GIGS ddr3 RAM

Does anyone have any knowledge of this or better up to date on what is being worked on for a fix? Thanks.

Did you install anything to play DayZ? I'm getting the same issue as are many others becasue of a recent beta patch. It allows DayZ to function but all other Arma2 servers will not work. *EDIT*. Sorry, nevermind....just noticed the date on the post.

I came here to find this thread because I'm experiencing the same issue. Up until a few beta patches ago I played both DayZ and then Arma2, Operation Arrowhead multiplayer servers. Not sure what patch caused the issue because it was only tonight that I tried to go play some multiplayer. I am getting the same crash as described here. I am also very low knowledge level when it comes to this type of thing, and not sure how to do some of those fixes that have been described. If I wait and just play DayZ, will an upcoming beta patch or full patch fix the issue? Thanks.

Biggest way to get players into Arma3..... MORE servers running PvP, that involves human vs. human.

I have the Steam version as well of all content and wishing Steam would get in gear and get it out. I'm leery of using non-Steam to patch when Steam will be putting theirs out. This has caused HUGE problems for me in the past and a few patches ago, Steam actually redownloaded the whole game. Anyone here have Steam and installed the patch and it works fine?

LOL, my step 8 about 3 posts up said to do this.

I purchased PMC through STEAM, it downloaded ok and installed and is asking me for a CD key. I have found in the STEAM games menu where the CD key is listed. I record that, start PMC and enter the key I was given and it does not work. I have tried over and over and triple and quadurple checked so yes, the key is correct, but it does not activate the product. Has anyone else had this issue and what recourse is there for the DLC that I paid $9.99 for not working?

When you go to your Steam games menu, at the bottom left of the Steam box, and click "add a game" to add a non-steam game to your steam? Then, delete your desktop shortcut and go to the new listing for Arma2 CD version on your Steam list and right click and ask Steam to create a desktop shortcut. That might get the pathways right for Steam versions of Arrowhead. I know other threads I looked were mentioning there are extra problems with retail Arma2 and Steam Arrowhead. Make sure you have updated your non-Steam CD before you add it to Steam and THEN use Steam to create a desktop icon. Just in case this adds another variable. Now try verifying the game cache of the Operation Arrowhead. Make sure all your icons and Steam are as administrator. Then, run the new CD version desktop icon that Steam created first, if game works, close, then run Arrowhead, if works close, then run Combined Operations. If that works, the missing vehicle bug is still there but you can still play the games. Just making some educated guesses here so I hope it works for you. Not sure what else to do.

Well, BIS certainly knows sales figures. They will have an idea of how many copies of the game have been sold. That may even be public knowledge, haven't checked. THere are currently 72146 registered members of this forum. That represents a percentage of the owners of the games sold that belong to the forum, roughly. Of those, only a small percent are still active. That number doesn't even matter really, just the number of people who respond to a poll vs. total sales. Run a poll on here to determine who had issues and who didn't have issues. Figure out what percent of total users took the poll, multiply that by the ratio of poll participants to total sales and you get the likely number (rough ballpark figure) that had trouble with the patch overall. If anyone is adept at doing that stuff, would be interesting to know. I suspect a lot higher than BIS wants to let on.

Fraternite, it seems the missing vehicles had something to do with the registry entries that were missing and preventing the CO from starting. Fix the CO startup and the other fixes. WHen you re-verified your caches through Steam, did you first open Steam as an administrator, then verify? You might have to change the desktop icon to always run as administrator. Then did you load the vanilla Arma2 first?, then Arrowhead? After that the Combined ops worked again for me.

OK, after a frustrating number of combinations I have found a solution to the probem (that worked on my system at least). Reading other threads and Steam threads regarding my no startup issue I tried many things. I ended up at this by trying the ones suggested and them not working and thinking I should try the other combinations that should be possible. This fixed my no startup issue and resolved the missing vehicle files. 1. Go to Steam (ENSURE STEAM IS RUNNING AS ADMINISTRATOR, then Verify game cache of Arma2 (Vanilla) 2. Verify cache (AS ADMINISTRATOR), Arma2: Operation Arrowhead 3. Verify cache (AS ADMINISTRATOR), Arma2: British Armed Forces (I have the full addon) 4. Delete the desktop icons of all versions of Steam Arma games. 5. Have Steam recreate the desktop icons through the Steam games menu. 6. I have windows7 and only the administrator account. Set the icons to run as administrator if you do this differently. 6. FIRST, run vanilla Arma2 from the new desktop icon. It loads up, exit. This apparently creates an entry to pathfind the program in the registry (paraphrasing). 7. SECOND, run Arma2 Operation arrowhead from new desktop icon. It loads up, exit (must be after vanilla and from new icon in admin mode to get the registry entry) I did this in my hours of trials without this step and it did not work and this step is not mentioned in the few other threads I found!!!!!! 8. THIRD, you can either exit Steam and click Arma2:OPeration arrowhead icon then choose the combined operations selection on the bottom of the menu that pops uo --- OR ---in Steam menu, GAMES, VIEW GAMES LIBRARY, ARMA2:OPERATION ARROWHEAD scroll down and choose to launch combined operations. This and this alone worked for me, in that order. I tried it a half dozen other ways based on the advice from two friends and from several threads I found here and on the Steam forums. None of them mentioned the deleting and recreating the desktop icons (this also worked for me to fix another issue in the past with a Steam game no longer working after a patch...don't ask me why I have no idea how a desktop icon changes from patch to patch, and I do not know if it is absolutely necessary, it might work for you if you don't, I'm just reporting what worked for me). None of the other threads mentioned that it had to be Arma2, then Arma2:OA, then Arma2:Com Ops ran from the new icons in admin mode AFTER all have been verified in Steam. I hope this helps at least someone forego the frustration that has been my day or two trying again to get this game working after another borked up patch.

I am having the same errors. I cannot find a solution in another thread for how to get around or fix the missing vehicles bug. I am unable to play on all of the multiplayer servers I've tried on. I am also having a problem when I try to launch combined operations, the game does not launch at all. I can only start OA. I use Steam version. Have started with the selection screen that comes up when Steam is closed and chosen Combined ops; does not start, load or even get the processors thinking. Have also tried starting Steam and going into games menu and launching Combined operations, same thing. Other versions work, but can't join any servers as I'm missing the vehicle files that everyone is talking about.

So what is the status on any fixes? Kind of getting sick of the problems for days on end every single time this game updates, same thing this time. Can you devs let us know what you think the problem is if you have any idea and if a fix will be coming soon?

I have the Steam versions of all and cannot join anything. Am running in adminstrator mode and BAF, OA and Arma2 have done autoupdates. Have reinstalled BattleEye through Steam as well. Still get BattlEye failed to initialize disconnect.

Still have the problem; running Windows 7 Home premium and Steam versions of Arma2, Operation Arrowhead and full BAF.

I have not installed any beta patches and currently cannot join any server after the patch. After the selection of slot screen as the data downloads, I get booted back to server list with the error something like "BattlEye failed to initialize" or something like that. I am unable to join any servers at all, with the same error. So far, with those I've been able to communicate with in the green group chat in the slot selection menu before trying to join and disconnecting, every last one has been a Steam version player. (This editorial comment is made from here on in frustration: I am SOOOO sick of BI F$@#ing up every single patch they release, not a single one has been successful, every one has had issues to be dealt with and the less expert one is at computers the longer it seems to take to fix it when the patches finally come out. COme on BIS, get your S#!T together, at least once in the lifetime of this game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Well, I"m getting a battleye failed error whenever I try to load servers now. I get to the select a slot screen, can choose connect and the download of the data starts, when it completes, instead if the mission starting, I get booted back to the server list screen. I was playing tonight for about 45 minutes after my patch completed, then the server crashed, when it came back up, this was the problem. A dozen or so others keep loading and all I see is the same error as I'm told happens to me when I try to load, "BattlEye failed to initiate" or something like that. So, I stand by what I said....not a single update or patch has worked without hours or days of trying to fix the issues caused by it to get to play again.

THat shouldn't be the choice. Getting very sick of BI screwing up every single patch they release that results in me having to waste my time (sometimes days) figuring out how to fix their faulty patches. Even delete and reinstall is a hassle to reconfigure everything and the time it takes. Is it so hard by now in the gaming world (other games do it all the time) to ask that developers make sure their patches work before releasing them???

Never once in this game, has there been a fully functional, non FUBAR'ed patch released. Do the Developers just assume we are all so loyal as to just eat up the crap they put out and the hassle to fix it and stick around for the next one? (Well, we are all still here so I guess they can assume that.) It must however, have an impact on new players and incoming player base to the game. Get it together!

Has anyone else gotten their Arrowhead or Arma2 to work via Steam yet? I'ts been going on 3 days for me now and while something huge seems to have downloaded on Arrowhead last night it is still not working. Wont' launch and I get some error about not being able to contact key servers?

OK, I see closed threads all over about this, and I"ve searched and still find no help or new file. I have the Steam version of both Arrorhead and Arma2 and cannot play, for 2 days now. Is there a patch coming or a fix so that the many many Steam players can play as well? I'm beyond frustrated that yet again, it takes days and some sort of technical knowledge to figure out a BI/Steam update for a game. Ugh... I hope I've just overlooked something simple.
