Make all units you want to spawn as playable in the editor. That should bring them back to life at your respawn marker. Sometimes I get some weird respawn results, as in opfor spawning in blufor spawn :p -

Would help if you posted some specs. Try older drivers for the gpu (nvidia, right?) browse around the forum and play around with settings.

Hmm, most laptops have a numpad activated by pressing the 'NumLk' button. And somewhere on the keyboard you will have numbers next to the letters, these are the laptop numkeys. press NumLk then Hold Shift and press numpad minus, for me it is left of the right shift key. release and type campaign, you may not get a verification.

I think ArmAII's big selling point is the engine and its capabilities. Showcasing this on youtube would hopefully increase sale. BIS should invest in a big rig and showcase the engine, thousands of AIs and townfights and so on. It's no shame to notice that Mil orgs are using this engine as well :) A number of sales would be very interesting!

Knife or bayonets in upcoming patch?

knife/Bayonet is for hand2hand combat (sort of anyway) and it would be difficult to implement here i think.. There was a mod for OFP1 that had bayonets i think. -
Game publishing and review industry is corrupt. That's nothing I can prove but only what i have heard from some insiders. As in Big Publishers gives reviews anything they may 'need'. That's why I don't read gaming magz or take reviews seriously, even tho there are alot of good guys. Stalker is right about the punchwelcome but it is probably not affecting sales. I have faith in BIS supporting this game so I always recommends ArmA2. You dont even need a perfect setup to play the game, it runs playable and enjoyable on my machine for now.

I don't think it was tested on thousands of systems. I also have performance issues, but I've been around and know what to wait for. I'd suggest BIS next time to send beta copies to a beta house and let them test with different machines, then they could work out most issues before release. Btw, expect nothing as simple as BF2, this engine is far more superior. -
I dont like the idea, I would pay for expansion packs if they are good. I like that BIS gives us freedom to make addons and missions in our own way, I like to play on private servers where I know I will get a good game. IF ArmA II is their final milsim then I hope they will support it forever. Personally I think BIS should make some rts games with smart AI.

Use the mission wizard to make specific missions, its simple, takes less than 5 minutes to get a playable mission ready. -
Getting an A10 to take off?

Tried a few things in the editor and it seems, just placing a plane on the field will make it take off. My solution for your problem could be solved by placing an empty a10 and a pilot, then give the waypoint to the pilot and once trigger is activated, make the pilot get into the airplane and then setpos the a10 above ground with speedmode. -
you could put something on the building and have the plane bomb that object. Like a invisible H or something. Not sure if it would work.

I love the editor as it is, however a script utility for writing script would be nice if it where added. I dont like alt tab, anyway. I love the editor and its the first thing I do when launching arma. Try different things out, test everything, use the biki, comref and the classnames and have fun :)

In the Artillery Module article on the biki, there are two example missions, check them out. They have a radio function to add artillery strikes, you can use that as an example. -
Are you serious? Maybe because when you get back at the menu after MP the world= not empty.

I had the same problem, but i think it gets installed anyway. To be sure, check the version number of arma2.exe, you can also spot the version number in the main menu ( I think). -
Is it just me or is the interface (dialogs/menus) veeeery slow? Im stuck in barracks, they are destroyed, alot of enemy tanks here. I play alone on LAN :(

Team up with some experienced guys and you will gain some skill.. And it's better to be safe than sorry, so dont rush into things, like entering a village with one visible opfor unit? nah. scan around.

I read somewhere that you should force v-sync OFF in gpu control panel.

I just got my new pc today :D I installed and patched straight away so I could not compare however there seems to be some cases when the game slows down a bit. I have experienced this before too on my.. older pc, which ran the game badly anyway. I placed severals flying planes and some opfor tunguskas on map and watch the air 2 ground fight and it at some points slowed down. Windows Vista Premium Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 4GB DDR2 SDRAM - 667 MHz NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT - 1 GB Just a short test.

"get some" ? Wow. To me it sounds like You are only interested in the, hmm how do I put it... f***ing part. But to answer Your question, yes it IS possible to create a mod like that, but you would a lot of time, skills and sanity to get a quality mod out of it. I'd suggest finding an RPG game with modding capabilities but I doubt you would find an engine as modfriendly as ArmA II. Maybe ask the Chernarus Life guys to work with them to get an RPG mod up and then add your own content? For me, ArmA II is already filled with pr0n. Yes, I am perverse!

Guard way points. what's it good for?

Test it. Create a group with guard wp and make one of the units(not the leader) in the group as player and try for yourself. Try being a civilian and make OPFOR attack BLUFOR guarding somewhere, then add two BLUFOR groups somewhere close by but hidden and see them reinforce. The size of the trigger may be important as in its this area that is guarded and any enemy units spotted will be engaged. But I'm not sure yet. Im gonna try this out, I usually only use move/cycle waypoints and scripts.
