Overwhelming

i7 4770K (at stock speed) EVA GTX 780 SC ACX 3GB 16GB GSkill Trident X 2400MHz Noctua u14s Samsung SSD 840 Pro 256GB Everything is maxed, except motion blur, wich I don't like and always toggle off in every game. Visibility (including objects) set to ~6300. Framerate: 60FPS (sometimes drops to 55, never goes above 60, which I think it's related to my 60Hz monitor. So far, it plays smooth as butter. Thank God! When ArmA2 was released, I've bought a new computer and it still struggled to play that game! :)

I've only noticed this after the update, but I'm not sure this only happened after that update. In the village that has a dry river crossing in the middle, I've entered a home and tried to shoot the enemy outside through the window. Everytime I shoot I hear the glass shattering (although I can't see any glass) and the bullets don't reach the destination. One of the enemies was just a couple inches from the window, so I certainly didn't miss. Also, he wasn't even aware that I was shooting him, he was just standing there. I got out side and shot them all. It's as if inside the house i was outside the gameworld: I can't shoot them, they can't hear me or detect me. Anyone noticed this?

Where can I buy this DLC? I've bought ArmA 2, OA and Reinformcements on DVD. Can't find anything outside STEAM.

The game just arrived in my mail. I've installed it, followed by both patches, in the correct order. I've started a new campaign and even before I get to control my character, the game goes to the background (as if I did Alt+Tab). I can't return to the game, although I still listen to the game's sounds. I have to terminate the game (Ctrl+Alt+Del) and start again, to get the same problem all over again. I have windows vista 64bit and I have ArmA2 and all expansions and they all work fine. What coiuld be the problem? How can we fix this? Edit: it happened while playing with the editor as well.

Hello everyone. Years ago, I've waited a long time for the release of Operation Flashpoint. I loved it and still remember some good moments with it. I've skipped ArmA, but after all these years I'm itching to play a game like OF. So my attention now is directed to ArmA 2. One of the things appealing to me, is the mission editor and mods. Searching a little bit here, I've found an excelent guide by Mr Murray. Now I'm wondering if this excelent guide will be updated for ArmA 2. Does anyone know anything about this? Or knows the guy? :)

Can someone recommend me a good SP mission where I'm part of a team but not in charge? I want a mission where I don't have to babysit my AI allies but where I'm part of a team.

I've bought Arma 2 on release date. Unfortunately it had many bugs, some of them so serious that I just could play it anymore. So I cooled off, much to my disapointment. Recently I've heard about Arma 2: Reinforcements and it sparkled my drive to play Arma 2 again. Certainly the most serious bugs were already fixed, right? BUt now I don't know what to buy. There's: - Arma 2 - Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead - Arma 2: Combined Operations - Arma 2: British something - Arma 2: Private Military something - Arma 2: Reinforcements So, considering I already have the original Arma 2, what do I need to have the complete collection? How does everything integrates? Do they all merge together or will I have several different games, having to launch each one separately? Thanks for any clarifications you might give me. :)

When I view from certain from certain sniper scopes (not all), everything turns grey and I can't see almost nothing. If I press "ESC" to go to the main menu, the image clears and I see everything and in full colour (just a little bit blurry, but that's the expected main menu effect). I'll try later to take a screenshot of the problem. Meanwhile, is this a known bug? I've try to search this forum, but didn't find anything similar. Is there a fix? I'm running the game in a Windows Vista 64bit machine, with 6GB RAM and a GTX285 graphics card.

Ok, I was stupid. It seems some of those sniper rifles have TWS in their names and I assume that's some sort of thermal vision or night vision. I didn't had it pointed to a unit before, so when I was trying to take a screenshot for you, I've pointed to a unit and there he was, bright as the moon. So I assume it's a feature, not a bug. I've tried the Reinfeorcements and Operation Arrowhead's discs and it's failing! It installed fine, acepted the serial code that was in the back of the manual... But now securom doesn't let me play! Edit: for some reason, the game lauched, although with an error message. It seems it's installed nicely, with the three logos (Arma 2, OA and Reinforcements). But there's no campaign or missions from BAF or PMC. In the instalation options, I've chosen "install BAF and PMC only" instead of "install reiforcements", because I thought that having Arma 2 and OA installed, that's all I needed. I've uninstalled Reiforcements and I'm installing it again, with the "install REINFORCEMENTS" option. It didn't detect the game folder this time, so I redirected to it. Now I'm afraid it's replacing my CO instalation with a OA Lite version... So confusing... The manual just says to follow the autorun's instructions. It couldn't be more obscure!

I did that, but the error still appears. But using the option to "run as administrator" fixes the problem...

I've decided to open another topic, since I guess the problems with activation are gone (I just have to keep retrying, with the OA disk, not the Reinforcements one) until it acepted. Know it doesn't ask for it anymore. The problem is that the DLCs aren't available ingame. An error message appears when I launch the game: Failed to load file "pmc|addons|air_pmc.pbo" - decryption of headers failed. The game launches anyway. But I have no PMC or BAF new maps, missions and campaigns. If I go to the "Expansion" option in the main menu, both BAF and PMC are installed and enabled. My guess is that error is related to this problem. Is there a fix for this, please?

Yeah, I used that, with no success. The error apeared always. But the "run as administrator" solution has, apprently, solved the problem.

I've used the "Arma 2: Reinforcements"'s DVD installer. Anyway, I think I found a fix. I've tried to run it as an administrator, and it's working now. :)

Placed the Reinforcements DVD on my DVD drive and executed the tool you pointed me. Just arrived: With my original Arma 2, I guess now I have the complete colection: I've already installed OA and it created a shortcut to "combined operations". Great! I'm now installing Reinforcements. :)

Thanks, that was helpful. But I still have another doubt: Having Arma 2 and buying Arma 2: OA and Arma 2: R, I'll have the complete set. But how do they integrate? For example, having Arma 2 and Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead is the same thing as having Arma 2: Combined Operations? Can I use the mission and map editor from Arma 2: OA and edit Arma 2's maps? Or are those two games completely separate?
