The Athlon's do not have an L3 cache. I would not recommend them because of this.

It will play the game but will not be as smooth as a cpu with L3 cache.

+1 And honestly, running FRAPS is not the ideal way to benchmark anything as it's impossible to run the exact same path, AI included.

It's a good build but the 5750 is the weak spot. You don't need a 700 watt psu for that set up. If you can find a solid 500-600 watt psu and get a 5770 would be better.

You are correct. The 5870 is faster than a stock 5850 but for a steep premium in price. Most 5850's overclock extremely well, approaching 5870 speeds. I have an Asus DirectCu 5850 overclocked to 900/1125 on stock volts. But the 460's are a tremendous value. Just a bit slower than the 5850 in DX10 games but the 460 handles tessellation much better.

You have complained in a couple of threads about the game. If it's having a negative effect on you work and family life maybe you need to take a break for a while.

Good tip but I don't think this about trouble controlling the character, it's about how smooth the player control is in this game versus others.

I haven't played in a while until a couple of days ago. I use to have a 4870 and now have a 5850. Only played single player so far but the framerates are better. I was zooming in and out of the red trees and 30-35fps at lowest, 60fps at best with medium to medium high settings. At work now so I don't remember what they are set to.

Glad to hear this Maruk. We do appreciate your time and your personal attention to the community. It's says a great deal about you and Bohemia. I too have enjoyed the series and no other game offers the same playing experience. I share the same issue as the OP relative to how smooth the character moves in space as it directly affects the combat experience when infantry fighting. If the ground ponding experience can smoothed out it will be a tremendous improvement to the series.

Not a great way to get help. I understand your complaint, a $600-$700 graphics card. Still have no idea why the devs have not taken advantage of SLI and CrossfireX.
