leafy trees, huge fps killer, especialy orange one's
S7_Mega replied to POTS's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Orange trees do work my 4870 pretty hard, when I look at them the fan on the gpu runs pretty fast. -
Will my PC Run this? What CPU/GPU to get? What settings? System Specifications.

Unfortunately, it probably will not run the game any better than a stuttering slide show. -
I highly recommend the Track Clip Pro. You can use the other reflector but you need to mount it on a hat, kinda silly.

The ACE mod incorporated a flare system, looking forward to their release. Modern aircraft in the US inventory do have threat warning systems, standard equipment as well as the ECM pod that you see on the win tip of the A-10. When any radar system locks onto your aircraft the RWR system gives a tone. This is the display that's not active on the upper left of the cockpit in the A-10. Passive seaker heads may not generate a warning tone but active seeker heads will. I was surprised BIS didn't include the Arma1 work done by the community in this respect. ACE rules.

Unfortunately, the game still has some issues with the gtx295's. -
3D Pro as well and it works great. Wouldn't fly without one, and TrackIR 5!!

Can you blend the two? Place a trigger in an area just after takeoff and set the plane damage to 0 for the explosion. Then you can just record a guy on the ground and record him firing a Strella and blend the two videos.

New to the editor and have been reading as much as possible the last couple of days. I appreciate the time so many people have donated to help us newcomers. Can you use ALICE to spawn/despawn civialian populations as East or West approaches a city with a trigger? I am assuming it may be possible with a .sqf if scripted correctly. It would add tremendous atmosphere to a mission. Would anyone have an example or link? On the other hand, if I'm looking for specific civilian actions to be performed what is the most efficient process to have them spawn at predetermined locations? Then how do you despawn them? For example: A squad is traveling through a few towns on the way to an objective, civilians are seen as they ride through each town. Now they approach the objective city. A street is blocked by a car accident. As they approach the accident it also triggers insurgents entering the same city.

We can tell.

It's a real shame the tone of the forums has repeatedly come to this. Boomboomer is correct from what I remember.

Amen. I simply don't understand this mentallity. You see this behavior more and more these days. This type gets some sort of perverse satisfaction out of constantly complaining.
-
I disagree. You are being ridiculous. This is Arma, for better or worse. Those of us that went through the growing pains of Arma1 understand this. Is Arma2 perfect, no it isn't. Will BIS fix the issues? Yes they will, as they did in the first release. In today's society of immediate satisfaction I understand that you cannot believe that they have not yet waved the magic wand to fix the issues. Again, something I was taught that is not common these days, patience. For those of you that are new to the ArmA experience, go download Arma1. Play that as it was released before any patches, same thing we see with ArmaII. And for those of you that don't understand why it takes so long to fix gaming issues, any game, have a look at the raw code. Do yourself a favor and learn how to mod in any discipline. Try map creation, modeling, animation or scripting. You will come to respect the work it actually takes to create a game. Patience.

This personality type is a real concern for our society. When I was a kid if you didn't like something you voiced your opinion, once. Then you moved on. Today's kids voice their negative opinion, then again and again and again and again.... Check out the name, "arma2dissapointed". Ok so now we know your aren't happy. Then posts like this. Then add in all the other hate this game" kids who fill gaming forums and turn what use to be a helpful and intelligent Arma 1 community into what we see today. I can't wait for some other hyped up game tittle to be released so all the addicted "twitch" players can move on and pollute another forum site.

Yup, and in ten minutes someone else will post the same thing, in a new thread. -
No but it does run alot better than it use to. Same growing pains for Arma2 as Arma1.

Scripts are scripts, either in the vanilla version or with an addon.

No way.

And people are crying about framerates now. So add more stress to the current game? No thanks.
