Yesterday i played MP with a Friend using Hamachi. At first we didn't see us in the LAN list but if you type in the IP from the host he'll light up in the LAN screen. The good thing was that inital data transfer to the client was much faster compared to a normal join process over "internet". Had not much time yesterday to run a full test on it but maybe it can help also in other ways. What i want to test next is if join in progress is possible with this. I put it as an alternative because i doubt that it's an universal solution

Would be cool or somehow realistic i think if everyone (not the driver)on board most vehicles could shoot. It's a pain if you drive a truck with couple of men on board and have to dismount because some guy is shooting at you.

I suppose the diffrence is really what the engine tries to do in the background. If it would just count this 1 texture it would give you insane fps but when you would turn around to look somewhere else your fsp would drop below ground zero because they haven't been "pre-calculated" what would make for a horrid game experience. At some point the diffrence in fps is logical. I sure think you could optimize everything to a far better result than it is now. -

It seems to have improved with the final version but only overland driving. In citys they still go against walls while driving around corners or go back and forth where it would be sensles to do so. Because the Ai always crashed into a corner that didn't go down on impact the AI constantly crashed into the wall not beeing able to get past this point. -
Look at the boards from other games..bugs are everywhere. Compared to many other games ARMA 2 does very well on inital release. I don't know why you have a problem with securom cause i never did with any game. I even have 1 dvd and 1 blueray drive in my pc..i even can run virtual drive programms without conflict with securom. So i suppose your pc in general has troubles somewhere making securom kick in at some point. Just a guess but i think it would be like this.

I just have a question with self made models for ARMA 2. Can i buy them somehow in the game? Or does it require additional editing? I don't care if the detail on the Apache is lower because it's a port. Atleast we have one now :D Thanks to you that you have taken the time to give us one :D Hope new models will show up fast like for arma1..was cool having so many models :D -
In FPS games i prefer fps well above 40. While 25 may be playable it's a huge diffrence between 25 and let's say 60 fps. 15 fps would give me real pain

The GTX295 has 2 GPU's onboard. So it's not a SLI problem. SLI seems to be working. I have 3 GTX295 in SLI Mode running. FPS drop when you run on just 1 card even when it's no visible in game because the GTX295 holds much power by her own

If it would be some heat problem then i suppose you would have atleast exeeded 80C on a permanent level. If it's dust then the fans should have been noisy as hell trying to run on max. It doesn't have to be a heat problem on the cpu just because there has been an error on some secondary processor unit. Also if heat would be the problem the system would be running on max. Try running on Arma 2 on low settings...if it crashes again it sure is some other problem but with those specs it shouldn't overheat unless you push the settings to an unplayable level for your system what i doubt you would do. -

Strange. I never had this problem in Arma 2 and i have a WLAN Router. Really is some odd case. -
Hi there :) It's my first posting and i was able to have some runs with Arma 2. First of all it's a huge improvement over Arma 1. I played the first part and really enjoy the second part of the Game I have found some issues regarding Multiplayer. I made some test runs with a friend to be sure. I noticed strange lags once in a while where people and vehicles made a small "warp". Mostly lags are best seen while driving a vehicle. AI seems to have some problems with driving. They are able to get from A to B but with some problems. If a person crosses their path then they not only try to stop but tend to go back and forth and try to aviod it while the "obstacle" is allready long gone. They have some problems when going around corners in citys. They tend to crash against corners of walls. they really have problems driving in citys. I don't know if it's meant to be but when you order your squad to a certain point they tend to no go there but to be somewhere "close" to it. As an example i pointed my team to go to a wall because i wanted them to take cover there and they just stood 20m or so away from it in a really loose formation. There is yet another Multiplayer issue. I am able to join a game when it isn't started and is played from the begining. Trying to join while the game is started or when it's resumed from a certain "save" point then the joining process results in a can't establish connection after some longer wait in the "connecting to host" screen. When i and my friend play a mission from the begining no connection problems arise. ping to my friend is normaly between 15 and 30ms. Medics tend to ignore my "wounded" command. They sometimes come to help but mostly they don't. Have to run more tests on this one. In MP while playing the Map "Supermächte"..i don't know how it is named in english i noticed that i was under fire by an enemy BMP and i just had a rifle but there seems to be no command like "hey i have no chance in killing that thing...send some reinforcment that can kill it. This isn't a bug but more a wish to put such command into the game. I really was crawling in cover and no one came to help even after the X time of using the command "under fire". Hope this posting helps to improve the game even further :) Sorry for my bad english. I am playing the German Version 1.01 (beta patch) My Specs Core 2 Quad 2.83 ghz 3 GeForce GTX 295 (SLI) SATA 2 Raid System 8GB DDR3 Ram Vista 64 bit SP 2

I wonder what is causing those warping effects. It doesn't seem to be because of bad connection. And it doesn't seem to come from to high settings because from bottom to top it's just the same. :j:

Ragdoll is fun to watch but far from real. If you would shoot someone he wouldn't act like a rubber ducky, rolling all over the place bending his arms and legs, sticking them into his ass :p

Can't tell you atm. because i haven't played singleplayer up to this point yet. I play "Supermächte" in MP the most. I love the building and conquer MP Map :) But if you like to know i'll play up to this point in the game and see what i get. Is there some kind of command where you can see how much FPS you have? Mine should be high after what i see but i couldn't tell how much exactly they are.

SLI sure makes a diffrence and seems to work very well. I switched it off and just tested ARMA 2 with 1 card. It's sure a great diffrence. I have 3 cards in SLI mode running and it sure rocks on max settings.

Coop runs fine unless you try to continue from a certain save point or just try to join a running game you get a connection failure. At least thats what i saw while testing it with a friend of mine. But aside this Single Player Coop is hell of fun :) I also like the Big Maps where you try to conquer the Island, build up your base and outposts and buy vehicles or anything you can get your hands on :D ...thats where i had the most fun while playing with a friend :)

One thing i noticed was when your down in the grass you can't see anything because the grass blocks your sight. This doesn't seem to be for the AI. It can clearly see and shoot you as it seems -

I don't have the throttle issue somehow...atleast in helis. I can fine tune hight in helis with the throttle. Haven't yet looked at it while flying a plane. One thing that still seems to be odd like it was in Arma 1 is that you have an instant lock on a target. You just need to tab your way through targets while hammering the fire button. -
Something i forgot what would be a good addition in the game. Would be nice if you could get some better answers from squad members. If they are in a firefight and can't get to your position when ordered they could say something like "I'm under fire..can't get to you"..or "hey i could use some help over here...i'm beeing supressed"..or for the medic.."hey i'm healing somebody..can't help you atm. but your next" or something similar. Would give more information instead of the "negative" answer. :) If you respawn in MP grenades you used aren't refilled
