    Patch 1.05 suggestions

    Hmm I love these wishlist-threads :) I'd like to see friendly unit markers for all friendly units in the lower difficulty modes, not just for the units in the player's squad. Also i'd like to adjust blur, bloom a.s.o. *crossing the fingers for appliance of these features* Best Sn@key Edit: I almost forgot my favorite - customizable Weapons :)

    Arma 2 Blue Screen

    Windows version, drivers used, starting parameters used, the error you finally get. Mostly it is a malfunctioning driver (mouse, soundcard, headset, graphics driver, raid driver, etc.)

    How improve player account?

    Details about the squad.xml can be found here: http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/squad.xml With the emblem I ran into trouble, that texview shows and exports it properly but it is not displayed ingame. Any ideas why? Edit: Solved. Nickname ingame and Nickname in squad.xml had not been the same!
  5. Perhaps you shouldn't use illegal versions :P SCNR! Beside the this (bad) joke, CS4 runs on Win7 X64 fine - 32-bit as well as 64-bit. The paa.8bi must be put into the 32-bit Version of your "Adobe Photoshop CS4\Plug-ins\File Formats\"-Directory. The 64-bit Version is not able to recognize the plugin. My question is another: a) what settings do i have to take on exporting my image ? b) what can be the reason when the image is referenced correctly in the xml, an the the path to xml is set correctly in the profile ?     Ai thread

    I'd like to see, that the AI is as well as the human player unable to see fully through grass and leafs (and acting like the environment consists only of rocks, quadric buildings, leafless trees and plain ground). Also I would like to see the "killing through massive objects" fixed. Lying behind a massive objekt like a stone or wall doesn't give really cover. Often you will be struck "through" the object. The supressing feature would be very nice. AI running into the swarm of bullets is pixel "genocide". Then the AI must exhaust too and needs to calm down before he/she/it can land the perfect shot. As well when they are wounded. Sometimes they are walking and running and shooting like never been hit. The AI should feel pain, affecting cognitive abilities like walking, running and aiming. Perhaps is should send my AI-Wishlist to Santa :D

    ArmA2 8GB RAM Problem

    Bug is still present in 1.03: Win7 RC1 x64 8 GB DDR3 ATi 4890 GS-Edition Can still be fixed with -winxp parameter.

    1.03 Performance

    performance increased. I am still missing LOS für AI. Trees seems for AI non existent. Also enemy bullets find their way through massive concrete walls.

  10. Hell yeah, My wished for 1.3... 1.) engine streaming /speed improvements 2.) AC-130 Spectre Gunship 3.) Fatigue for KI after running, affecting the aiming ability. 4.) AH-64 5.) Fix for MLRS not to autoreload the default ammunition after firing 12 rounds of artillery rockets. Perhaps, modifying the ammo types: M77/M26 "Bomblet" (277mm rocket, 644 bomblet cluster warhead), AT-2 (336 Mines, AoE 1000m x 400m) , 110mm ballistic rockets and the 604mm ATACMS warhead. (For details take a look at: RakArtBtl 12, Germany So far for now ;)

    Patch 1.02 Satisfaction Survey

    Stability has increased slightly, but arma2 still shuts down unexpected sometimes. For the next patch, these points are on my wishlist • Gamestability. • object rendering speedup, flying fast from landside over the cities south of chernarus cause heavy frame losses (graphics settings all at normal with 1600x1050/100% Fillrate) • collision check for spawning, sometimes in MP you spawn right inside a house you normally cannot enter. • LOS checks for AI, right now it seems they're "ignoring" any vegetation like leafs or grass where I am "handycapped" through LOS. • better collision check for bullets. Sometimes bullets go through massive walls • AI Aiming skills. Crewmen with a small AK (SMG like) provide headshots at distances 200+ For a future patch (game), i would like to see • ingame modable player weapons (custom addable scopes, camo, SD, like in COD4) :rolleyes:

    ARMA 2 changes language...

    Does anybody know, if there will be an option to switch languages in future ? I`ve bought the german version, and i don't like my language xD Well the audio is english, but the menus and subtitles are in german. Some translations are quite strange. Personally I favor the WHOLE game in ONE language, in this case: ENGLISH!. How are the chances that BI will let us change the language in future ?

    MLRS functionality

    Thanks for the hint. I've missed the Artillery GL System. But somehow its not working properly (like for the M119). The view is inflexible to about 1 klick radius around the launcher. About using the Artillery GL System for the MLRS, the Launcher must be Initialised with Artillery Ammunition, thats correct. But why it is called "XM-31 HE ?" :rolleyes: Also strange, that the launcher blew up, after firing the 12th Rocket. I also tried using the Artillery Module mention in biki, but ran into trouble setting up fire missions. So i wanted to "learn" from the sample Mission. Where do I have to put it, so I can load it inside the editor ? Personal note: I was fire mission controller in a MLRS platoon during my army duty. They're so awesome. And things will go really bad, when you are in the target area and these babys disassamble ;) Theoretically the M277 reach that altitude, but therefor the weapon system must be at 90°. Perhaps you meant "range" instead of altitude. In median, the range is about 34 km. That was the distance we had fired in Zaragossa, spain in 2002 fighting targets effective. Hahhhh. Great memories...
  14. The Parameter -winxp fixed it in the second try after resetting windows' gfx setting. Without resetting running arma2 resulted in a black screen. Thanks for this tip.
