Good info thanks, I've been jonesing for a good tactical FPS for some time. I even checked out DFX2 extreme .... what a waste. I am very excited to try out the demo.

Swat there was a followup to JOTR, it was called Escalation. They went belly up shortly there after. Escalation brought a ton of vehicles into the game and killed it in my opinion. On to map size, so are these maps Bigger than JO? I don't mind big maps but some of those island maps took forever to get near any action. A couple of mins is fine but like you said 10 mins via chopper is too much.

I always had quite a blast on the NovaLogic public Joint Operations 150 player servers. Something like that would be awesome for ARMA2. Wow I didn't know anyone was still around who used to play JO. I was a huge JO fan. Im hoping this has some of the same style of game play. I like COD style games for getting rid of aggression but they dont hold my interest for long periods of time. ARMA2 appears to be more of a tactical style game. At least that is what Im hoping. Realism and munitions take a back seat to game play and tactics for me.

So will there be US Servers? Public BIS as well as private? I never played ARMA 1 so I have nothing to go on except what I read here. It never occurred to me there might not be a bunch of public servers here. I would love some clarification/confirmation from BIS. Thanks

Don't get me wrong I still like steam, I just hope what happened with COD does not happen elsewhere. I have a ton of other games through steam and have never had a problem patching any of them. Hoak, very good point about the CRC. It is a very nice feature. It is very useful to be able to delete certain files that might be causing issues and have them re-downloaded automatically. I have used that feature more than once.

I wanted to give feedback about steam. I happen to really like steam for Valve games, however for 3rd party games I am a bit hesitant. Here is why. I am a COD player and purchased World at War via steam. Everything works fine until a patch is released. Retail and D2D people had the patch day 1. Steam users had to wait 2 weeks to get a patch/new maps. You could download the retail patch and make some changes to the registry to get it to work but you shouldn't have to. This isn't a one time thing, its happened twice now with COD. I have no idea what deals BIS has with steam but people should be aware. Hopefully BIS has addressed this in some manner. Now a question. Say I buy this via steam and they are delayed in releasing a patch. Will I be able to MP and play with people on the newer version or relegated to servers at the old patch level. I'm sure I know the answer but thought I'd ask anyway. Thanks in advance
