Performance woes - 1920x1200 with 9600GT
Panthe replied to Helmut_AUT's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Did that, looks the same and performance is way better. Great tip ! Also updated today, didn't know new drivers were out. Works like a charm, thanks ! -
Same here, I have less performance now with 185.x but it's working, I can finally play.

Performance woes - 1920x1200 with 9600GT

I'm running on XP and I upgraded my Nvidia drivers from 182.x to 185.x yesterday, unfortunately I experienced a noticeable performance loss. How much exactly I have to fraps first. When running on 182.x forcing off VSync gave me a little boost but with the 185.x I saw no difference. So far it sounds all bad for me but the good news I do no longer experience the "Receiving ..." bug mid-game mentioned in this other thread hence I can now fully enjoy multiplayer games. Are you using Kegety's no bloom, no blur mod yet to lower your shader load, even though it allowed on every server ? I'm giving it a shot now, the blurry zoom as the tank gunner is almost unbearable anyway. Wish you best of luck with your performance tuning also since we both run similar graphic cards, I'll subscribed to this thread and read up on it in case you achieve some major breakthrough :) -

Do you get the same feeling when looking at the sky only and moving about with the mouse ? Since Bohemia employs this sluggish movement feel since ArmA 1 and I could never get rid of it, no matter the system it runs on, it felt best however when reaching 60fps which is easily achived by looking at the sky for benchmarking. The game came never even close to the realtime and precise movement in any curser-aimed first person game, so I personally just accepted that, wish I could tell you more. The tricks I'm trying out with my older 8800 GTS is forcing v-sync off by drivers and perhaps adding Kegety's no bloom, no blur mod. That also reduces your shader load. -
Multiplayer screen flickering issues.

I have the same problem and it occurs frequently in Multiplayer, both on CTI and Warfare maps. Usually I get the black "Receiving ..." screen (German though) when I switch back from the map to my first person view. Once I could get out of it by just firing my weapon, suddenly I had a picture again. Just now I had another black screen and nothing I tried worked though. I would love a solution as currently it keeps me from playing multiplayer on a regular basis. I did not get the black receiving screen when playing the multiplayer coop campaign. Small update on my specs and drivers: WindowsXP, E8400, Geforce 8800GTS, Nvidia v 182.08 ---------- Post added at 02:11 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:36 PM ---------- Exact same discussion taking place here: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=74013 This thread should be closed by a moderator.
