It might be easier and take load off their servers if they put out a torrent? [sCu] Spanky_nz -
Too many Pub servers banning Vopsound!
nzjono replied to l mandrake's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
Huh?? He was talking about VOPSOUND not VOIP. Server admin rofl. Having a sound mod does not change the 'level playing field' in the slightest. Read the thread topic more carefully next time before posting 'server admin' lol -
Yeah there is, Im almost ready to jump ship to Op Flashpoint ..sigh

lastest patch 1.04 has killed my vopsound 2.1 :-(

Why did you guys change your name? I thought it was Virtual Maori Army? -
So is there a mobile spawn APZ or only a teleport to the hosipital? We can drive a HQ APC but no one can spawn to it. Seems like a lot of driving foward all the time from the last town or am I missing something??
-
Same, absolute rubbish on BI part to do this and not warn anyone in the changelog before we all installed the patch. Im jumping ship to Flashpoint as soon as it released. Im sick of this haphazard illogical way they release things.

ARMA II Patch 1.03 & Dedicated Server Released .
nzjono replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
I agree, if they had mentioned this none of my clan would have updated. now we cant roll back to the earlier patch and we cant update our dedicated server. What is BI idea, to try and alienate their entire fan base patch by infuriating patch? -
How Satisfied with Arma2 Are you??

Ummm you are just contradicting yourself. -
Tried the lastest version again tonight with my clanmates. Everything was going well except on dieing some of us were spawn on the small offshore island. It didnt matter which spawn we tried to choose or even if we were revived. Also the helicopter never seemed to show up at the target area, we waited for ages. Nothign came , some ground troop arrived. By this time half the squad was stuck on the offshore island spawn. Loooked like such a good mission but the spawn bug made it unplayable as the only way off the island was swimming which meant loosing all your weapons.

Thanks Ill put it on our clan server tonight. Swing by our forums and say hi sometime, always nice to see another kiwi :) http://www.simcentral.co.nz/forums/

Do I need to download the revive script seperately? Whenever we die in this we spawn on a small off-shore island. the medics have no option ot actually revive us? What are we doing wrong?

NVIDIA video card(s) owners read here!
nzjono replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
What a load of missinformed nonsense. It works perfectly fine with both Arma 1 and 2. What you are referring to would be using FRAPS to record video at the highest settings which does have an effect on FPS. Using FRAPS as a screen overlay to show FPS in game has no discernable impact on the game. -
EVGA fix works for me Tested as below, working well FPS has doubled. I tested in both single player and multiplayer. Single player getting around 45 to 55 and in MP hitting 60 most of the time which seems to be the new framerate cap. This is the driver fix we have been waiting for, its an add on of sorts for the new Nvidia drivers so hopefully it will beintergrated in the next Nvidia update. In the meantime this works. phew!!! :D http://www.evga.com/articles/00463/Default.asp You need the lastest Nvidia 186.18 drivers and you must also sign up with a new account

GTX 295 - Finally Greate FPS Success with 186.18 drivers
nzjono replied to thewusman's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I think most of us with GTX295's expect to be getting much better framerates than this at these low settings. 30 to 40 fps with most of your sliders at normal levels and this lower resolution is pretty poor performance. You have the same crappy performance that the rest of us have. Running at 1920 by 1200 with everything set on high and a view distance of 3000 should be par for the course and above 40fps for most of our new quad core machines running GTX295s. -
Did you bother to read any of the multiple post on exactly the same issue in this forum before making a new post?

nzjono replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
What resolution? Cant really compare FPS until we know what resolution you run the game at. Also what is your view distance set at? -
Its IS internally capped at 30 fps in game and 60 fps in the menu screens here check out the photo of my G15 Fraps display..live framerate is on 23 here and to the right is the 30 capped framerate which does NOT move in game. It changes to a capped 60 in themenus. The EVGA fix helps raise the cap to 60 in game but the actual live framerate does not get much above 30 anyway.

505 Version: Release Date & Other topics - EU/Aus/NZ/SA/ME/Israel etc.
nzjono replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Why didnt you just download the digital copy? Why wait, you could be playing it tonight. You can burn the downloaded copy to a dvd so you have a hard copy as backup so what on earth is the problem? -
It is locked on vista when you use an SLI card.
-
He doesnt tell us what resolution hes playing at, what grahic settings, fillrate, view distance etc that he is using. It is impossible for you to compare your gameplay to his.

SLi working - i7 GTX295 on V64 & Win7 -my how to
nzjono replied to FraG_AU's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Nice to know someone is getting it working, for the moment Im sick and tired of all the workarounds. Im sticking with the EVGA patch in the meantime which at least brings my Framerate up to a rather lame mid 30s early 40s fps. If I go in a city or near buildings it drops down though, just too depressing to even bother complaining about. By the way you dont tell us what your view distance is set at as that makes a big difference. I just dont see why we have to spend our time testing out workarounds, isnt that meant to have been done before it is sold to us as a completed product? -
?? Troubleshooting is exactly where people will go to bitch and moan about the TROUBLES. You want them all giving thumbs up for a very poorly optimised game? I have posted threads on temp fixes for this http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=76369 Even after all of that the game still runs badly, it still crases to desktop at random. It still stutters like mad. It still gives low framerates with GTX295 card.....its amazing that it even still works. It took a 3rd party card developer to release a semi working fix for some people. There has been no official response form BI about the lack of out of the box support for 200 series SLI Nvidia card owners and the 30 FPS cap lock with said cards. After all the issues with Arma 1 I expected a better, well at least a working playable product on my new $3000 PC. It played better on my old Windows XP system with my old Nvidia 8800 Ultra. Ki ora
