    Helicopter CONTROLS

Ditto that C and X buttons, its very easy and very contollable. this give no roll what so ever, what on earth are you on about Vlad 13, you are obviously using the wrong controls. People really shouldnt post up complaints if they havent even bothered to read the manual. Helicopter flies fine with even mouse and keyboard. I fly solo with manual fire all the time and do very well. I prefer the mouse and keyboard than a joystick for the helis in this, you have more precise small movement control once you get the hang of it.

New evga sli fix works :-)

LoL neuro you have almost everything turned off, that result doesnt really tell us much. I didnt buy a GTX295 to turn the shadows off, it looks terrible without them. When people are posting their fps it would help if they included a screen shot of their settings. Impossible to compare if someone has everything turned off like Neuro or running at low resolution. Also your view distance of only a 1000 makes it almost unplayable, the enemy will see you long before you can ever see them. Impossible to fly a pane or heli at that setting mate.
  3. The support apc DOES come, it just take a bloody long time. I used the apc from the start (the wheeled one NOT the tracked one as it has a heavier gun able to damage the T72) On activating the main camp run away then start taking long range shots and take out the BMP that is cruising around there and finally damage the T72 from afar enough to make the crew bail. Then its easy mopping up and about this stage the backup will arrive to share the limelight.

YES! thats what i was waiting for too. New in game framerate cap is 60. Yes you can use it with any SLI card or dual GPU card. Brand doesnt matter. yeah signup at EVGA is a bit of a pain...dont tell them but I lied about my phone number, I just gave them yours

Notice the difference between the tree shadow here. First picture is with shadows set to "normal" whilst the second picture is shadows set to "High". The slight blur is the rain falling. Only a framerate drop of 2 Forgot to mention Im runnning Arma 2 at 1920 by 1200 with settings as shown in top image i7 920 @ 3.67GHz 6 gig Ram GTX 295 Vista 64 Prior to this patch/mod I was and averaging 24 to 28FPS in game.
  6. Here then, a photo of my G15 LCD displaying FRAPS Its IS internally capped at 30 fps in game and 60 fps in the menu screens for many of us (not all) Live framerate is on 23 here and to the right is the 30 capped framerate which does NOT move in game. It changes to a capped 60 in themenus. The live framerate can not go over this cap. Look, its great if your SLI is working etc but for many of us it is not. Having said that the game is still very playable and hugely entertaining (albiet frustrating at times) and a great evolution from Arma 1. Ill be waiting for new Nvidia drivers and a new BI patch to sort my framerate and SLI issues out.
  7. This doesn't do anything at all as its just creating a default global setting that was already in place. It changes nothing. Thanks for trying to help anyway :)
  8. Its IS internally capped at 30 fps in game and 60 fps in the menu screens here check out the photo of my G15 Fraps display..live framerate is on 23 here and to the right is the 30 capped framerate which does NOT move in game. It changes to a capped 60 in themenus. Seems like SLi GTX295 owners are getting the worst of this. As you are not running an SLI setup you may actually be getting better framerates than those of us with higher cards and cpus than you, its crazy!

    Who got SLI to work?

same for me..it is capped at 30 in game isnt it
  10. You can select all by just using the "~" key.
  11. Great, thanks for that I was looking for the command for ages :) How do you tell them to enter a vehicle as a driver or gunner? I dont seem to be getting the option of where to place them in the vehicles? How can I make my AI go prone etc?
  12. This only works on the first startup for me, as soon as I restart or run another mission it drops back
  13. I know in Arma 1 it was easy through the menu select but Arma 2 seems to have done away with that option as far as I can see. Its a real pain. They may have just moved it to a different menu selection branch but I cant find it. You also cant order your men to scan a particular direction or go prone etc as you could in Arma 1. This robs you of useful squad tatics, although perhaps the have increased the AI enough that they can act for themselves more and thus need less babysitting? Hmm that may be it....
  14. Yell out if you get it working because I cant. Vista 64, i7 920 at 3.7GHz, GTX 295, 6 gig Ram, Lastest drivers
  15. Thats great. :) I presume that is ingame, not just in the menu screen. Can I ask: What screen resolution? What Operating system? We know Win Xp seesm to be enabling SLI on the GTX295 Vista 64 is giving some trouble.
  16. Read the other threads, its a common problem around here. No one solution works for all people even with similiar hardware/software.
  17. If its this simple why havent BI release something to advise us to do that? No offense but in-menu framerate doesnt mean anything. Again in my situation the frame rate is LOCKED/CAPPED at 30 FPS in game. In the menu screen its locked at 60. Older drivers or v-sync settings wont change this, its software activated. Again I have yet to see any screenshots of above 40 ingame framerates running at 1920 by 1200 with i7 920 and GTX295 cards with most other settings at high/medium on Vista 64. If someone can do that, please, please please show us and explain exactly what settings/drivers you are running. I think Im kicking a dead horse on this one. Goldkid an avg of 22 is pretty low.
  18. Ummmm thanks for all your advice although half of your post was numbers and acronyms. It looked like a bunch of gobblegook to me, can you please keep any advice threads on settings and the like clear and simple to follow. I appologise if English is your second language as it appears is the case. An i7 920 overclocked with a GTX295 is a high end machine that should be able to get much better framerates than we are all getting. It appears SLI is not working for many of us. So basically you just popped into this thread to abuse most of us and our machines and mouth off on how great your computer is. Yes, excellent all my Armed Assault 2 problems have now been solved, thanks again ...mate By the way "your a troll' does not make sense. Again please don't be offended if you are not a native English speaker
  19. Do you have some screenshots to back this up? No one else except you seems to have these results. If it works then could you write up a step by step guide on how to do it with screenies.
  20. Crysis64 trick only works for a limited time, run Fraps and see for yourself. Basically like the rest of us you are stuck with poor performance on high end rigs until someone readies up with some decent drivers and/or a mega patch from the publishers themselves  As per Arma 1 it will happen...eventually..........:j:
  21. Add me to the list i7 920@3.6GHz and GTX295, I had better fps on my old 8800 ultra and a standard 3GHZ duo core and less ram.

    For gtx 295 users

Im running a i7 920 at 3.6GHz and a GTX295 on vista 64. It cant be the cpu bottleneck surely. The game just is being handicapped and running at about half power on i7 cpu and GTX295 combos IMO  Something is stopping SLI from working correctly and IS locking the framerate on my game at 30 and 60 fps respectively. Its displayed on my Fraps G15 LCD screen right in front of me when I play. My ingame framerate varies between 25 and 30..it can not go over 30. The number 30 is sitting LOCKED in the LCD Fraps screen to the right of the live framerate. The live framerate hovers around 30 and never goes over it. In the menus that solid 30 changes to a locked 60 and the live framerate hovers around 55 to 60 never to go over that. I can only presume that this 30 and 60 are the game locking the framerate to these 2 figures, what else could it be? So is it a combination of SLI not working properly AND this locked framerate hampering us?? My machine eats every other game out there but.... this one...oh this one @$@$%@#%%^&&&@!!!!!!

    For gtx 295 users

Yeah 60 fps in menus then drops to a locked 30fps in game. You can see it actually happening when you run Fraps on a G15 keyboard. The set locked framerate is displayed to the right of the running live framerate ticker in small numerals on the G15 LCD screen. In the menu scenes it sits on 60 then as soon as you jump in game it drops to a locked 30. Your subsequent in game fps can not go over that set locked framerate (60 and 30 respectively). Its just crazy, why have they locked SLI out and put this 30 frames cap on? I run the crysis64.exe trick and its fine in single player missions for the first game, SLI is running. As soon as I change to a second game its reset and the framerate almost halves. Nothing makes much sense and there is no across the board fix out yet. Just accept it and wait for the patch.
  24. Update: Played again today and everything had reverted back to 30-35ish FPS..I just dont understand. It was rock solid yesterday. Saw another post someone had the same early success with a fresh Vista 64 install then later it dropped back. Im pinning my hopes on some new super Nvidia drivers and a super patch to coincide with the retail Australian release next month. Seems like my fix is a one shot thing. Maybe its the over zealous copyright protection that detects on the restart that the main arma2.exe has been altered and forces things back to stock or something..meeeeh Ive tried everything else...Ill just play with crap framerate untill a fix appears.
  25. My exact system specs are: Cpu: Intel Core i7 920 running @ 3.8GHz GPU: Nividia GTX 295 Mobo: ASUS P6T X58 Ram: Kingston 6GB 1333MHz DDR3 HDD: Weston Digital 300GB Velociraptor and Weston Digital 1TB HDD Im running Vista 64bit Home edition fully updated Drivers are the lastest NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295 185.85 My command line is: "E:\Games\Arma\Bohemia Interactive\Crysis64.exe" -winxp -nosplash -world=empty -profiles=profiles -mod=@EN -maxmem=2047 OK just finshed my first Arma 2 trials with my new rig. My settings should work for some of you. On first running Arma I was getting a very poorly 25 to 35 fps running at these exact settings. Playable yes but hardly worthy of my new PC and a GTX295. After reading through a few posts about Vista being crap with Arma I did see some people getting results with the Crysis renaming trick. The online explanations are often vague as I found with just renaming the desktop shortcut to crysis.exe did nothing. You must of course rename the Arma.exe in your main game folder not just the shortcut. Ok that done no improvement...hmm I had a look in my Nvidia advanced settings ...Choosing crysis .exe did nothing here but on choosing crysis64.exe and then renaming my arma.exe to CRYSIS64.EXE my framerate instantly doubled! Im now running a constant 40 to 60 FPS at the same video settings as the top image. :D
