  3. Dear Community, dear BIS, now we found more than 5 illegal keys on our server. The players got banned, but the problem still exists. We found it with logging and comparing IPs, Usernames and IDs and we are sure they are completely different person. Where can we report those IDs with IP and time? Or isn't BIS interested in this? Regards, Jake

    No sorry. The conditions are "BETA for registered players" and not "open beta". ;)
  5. Hi! [Maybe this is not the rigth forum for this.] Where can I find the netlog file which was cretaed by the start parameter "-netlog" in ArmA 1? This parameter seems not to work or write the file to an unknown place. Can someone please advice? --Jake

    Okay, me again. There should be a problem also with jip. 2009/06/25, 16:37:49 NetServer: users.get failed when sending to 1620087896 2009/06/25, 16:37:49 Message not sent - error 0, message ID = ffffffff, to 1620087896 (Pichet) 2009/06/25, 16:37:49 NetServer::SendMsg: cannot find channel #1620087896, users.card=14 2009/06/25, 16:37:49 NetServer: users.get failed when sending to 1620087896 2009/06/25, 16:37:49 Message not sent - error 0, message ID = ffffffff, to 1620087896 (Pichet) 2009/06/25, 16:37:49 NetServer::SendMsg: cannot find channel #1620087896, users.card=14 2009/06/25, 16:37:49 NetServer: users.get failed when sending to 1620087896 2009/06/25, 16:37:49 Message not sent - error 0, message ID = ffffffff, to 1620087896 (Pichet) 2009/06/25, 16:37:49 NetServer::SendMsg: cannot find channel #1620087896, users.card=14 2009/06/25, 16:37:49 NetServer: users.get failed when sending to 1620087896 2009/06/25, 16:37:49 Message not sent - error 0, message ID = ffffffff, to 1620087896 (Pichet) 2009/06/25, 16:37:49 NetServer::SendMsg: cannot find channel #1620087896, users.card=14 2009/06/25, 16:37:49 NetServer: users.get failed when sending to 1620087896 And then the server crashes completely and have to be restarted.     Arma2 dedicated server howto

    Sorry for altering my posting while you answered. ;) Okay, rhetorical question: Why should BIS remove those administration tools?! *doh* I would appreciate it when you give a short hint in case you find this out. Additionally, I hope someone official from BIS can assist us in this case because I cannot imagine we are the only ones with a problem of this kind of lack...

    Arma2 dedicated server howto

    Hi, thanks for your answer (again). The normal logfile is working already. The only problem is the netlog-file itself. We need the IPs and in the normal logfiles these are not listed. That is why I pointed on the netlog-file as in ArmA 1. There, we were able to activate the netlog-file with the start parameter "-netlog". And this parameter (-netlog) does not work for ArmA 2, the normal logfile runs well. Here is an example from the netlog of ArmA 1 0.000: NetLogger: start - Tue Jun 23 19:59:49 2009 ********* 0.000: Clk(3579545) ********* 4.346: ArmA version: 1.14 ********* 4.413: 19:59:53 Dedicated host created. ********* 4.438: Fac:start(1.1,2.2,'WinSock 2.0','Running',32767,65467) ********* 5.091: Par: 1.1,65535,1490,90,3,400000,2,4000,600,2000000,400,0,6000000,1.040,1000.0,0.980,3000000,3000000,65536 ********* 5.091: Par: 2.50,150000.0,400,15,0.1500,0.1000,0.0500,0.0200,2.20,30000.0,1.80,20000.0,1.40,10000.0,1.10,3000.0,1.40,1.20 Hope you can help once again! :) --Jake

    Yes. More tactics because you can hide yourself much better.

    Arma2 dedicated server howto

    @[KH]Jman I recognize you are very in charge with the configs. We have a short problem but do not know how to figure out: It seems the netlog does not work at all, or we do not know where the file gets created. In ArmA 1 it worked fine with "-netlog" as startparameter. Do you have any tip for us? Thanks in advance!

    Taking screenshots? How? What utility?

    I use the full version of MyGamersCam. This is not fully compatible to Win7, but you are able to create screenshots. Fraps works fine with ArmA 2, too. :) And there is a free program called snapsaver. I have no idea where to download, but someone attached it to our forums: http://rp-mods.com/Forum/wbb/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=939 And just a hint to everyone: When you use google, and you find a forum where is someone asking for a program, and the next answer is use google... imagine what's up in your head then.

    Anti-Cheat for ArmA 2?

    Battleye?! Sry too say but I hope there will be a better system like this. We have huge problems with BE and timeouts. The system itself works fine, yea, but when the players are getting in trouble, it is not useful for us. And it seems there are no netcodes fixed, so I see generally no long life time for a big player base. If BE fixes these aggressive check for connection issues, it would be much better. Our mission (Sahrani Life, and in a few days Chernarus Life) need a strong cpu, and players even with a low ping of 15-50 have connections issues. And when some players try to join, you can just sh*t on the performance. I ahev no idea about scripting and anything else, but I can say the old BE for ArmA 1 was not the solution the Community had prayed for...
  18. Check this solution: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=73119
  19. Okay, I am using now an internal DVD drive and ArmA 2 works fine now on Windows 7 RC (build 7100) x64. I had to disable my external DVD drive fully! I will change topic title and mark it as solved. Thanks for help gentlemen!
  20. The first "The Sims" (1) had SecuROM 4.x . ArmA 2 has no SecuROM + DRM check, so you can install it where and when you want. But you still need the original disk.
  21. Good to know it does not depend on the operating system (even because of some ppl. are claiming with a different OS the problem would not appear. Haha ;)) I will check this later, but with your answer I suppose the problem is solved. When I really solved the problem, I will report again. :) Thanks anyway!
  22. Okay, I checked now the compatibility modes for: Windows XP SP2 Windows XP SP3 Vista SP1 Vista SP2 2003 Every mode causes the same bluescreen. Als already tried disabling the autostarts and not needed services, but this just disabled my G15 and my VNCserver. I have nothing installed on the system yet, except the latest patches for windows, Firefox and ArmA 2. This system is purely fresh! So, I am sure it is no real problem of ArmA, more than the copy protection. But BIS should have the better connections to SecuROM. :D Tomorrow I will take a DVD drive for 5,25", then I will see and try again. The dmp-file is about 230MB. I could upload it on our FTP as far as BIS is interested in. Here is my DXDIAG: http://pastebin.com/m1428ceb1 I will report tomorrow, after I tried a different DVD drive (this time internal), again. Thanks to everyone who tried to help seriosly! And a much bigger thank to the one who told me W7x64 runs well. So THERE IS a solution, even for me. Regards, Jake
  23. So, what could be the problem? I (really) installed the RC of W7 yesterday, so the system is fresh and ArmA 2 is the first game I installed. Is there any option I have to check before startung or installing it? I would point on my external DVD drive, but I cannot check it because it is a "Lacie Porsche design", a own development. It is no fully DVD drive what I could install on a IDE or SATA cable inside of my PC. Is there a option to check the SecuROM driver? Using Vista or XP is NOT THE SOLUTION. It is still no BETA anymore, it is a RC, and I am sure I am not the only one using this OS. So how many ppl. should use a different sytsem now and in fact, it will come to market this year and before christmas. So, no solution to switch OS to an older version. Additionally someone has to use it, otherwise it would be everytime a alpha system. :) And do not forget, I need the new W7 for my company, so I am still an active beta tester and registered technet member. ;) I tried different compatibility modes, but not all. Checking Vista SP2 and all XP modes now, then I will report again! Thanks for your all replies! Jake
