  1. Win7 64 with i7 920 - Crashes to desktop
  2. I read a lot of peoples posts about Patch 1.02 and they complain that there's no FSAA. But when I change FSAA=0 in my ArmA2.cfg config file to FSAA=4 The ingame menue says "AntiAliasing: Very High". Costs only 5 Fps and no more edges, looks awesome. But I wonder why so many complain about this ? Or am I wrong and it isn't integrated yet ? Edit: Ok I thnik I know why no one uses it, because there's a bug with the shadows then =( Lets wait for Patch 1.03

    Patch 1.02 Satisfaction Survey

That's already integrated isn't it ? I can use 4xAA without any Problem, looks awesome, no edges and costs only a few FPS. Just got to your Arma2.cfg and change FSAA from 0 to 4.

    Patch 1.02 Stability Survey

My stutters went away after deleting the startparameter "-winxp". THis parameter gave me fps before, with 1.02 it causes texture lagging/stuttering. Now runs fine
  5. So I installed Patch 1.02 and started a little round in Chernogorsk and... WTF is going on here, it's stuttering like hell. With 1.01 there wasn't this issue. But after some time of trying some things out I noticed the problem was the parameter "-winxp" that I used before because it gave me like 5-10 Fps even I didn't have Crossfire. So I deleted that parameter and since then it's very fluent again and the stutters every 3 seconds are gone. Hope this will help someone =) greetz Cionara

    Patch 1.02 Stability Survey

I have the texture-lag, too even with GTX280. It helped me to set the texturequality options in the driver from Quality to Performance.

    Patch 1.02 Stability Survey

Got the same issue. Before it ran great and now with 1.02 it stutters every 3 steps and setting it to very high didn't fix it. Also before the patch my framerate was constant, lets say 60fps in Chernogorks, so when I stood there for 10 seconds the frames jumped from 59 to 60. Now my frames jump from 39 to 60, it's crazy. I mean I stand there and do nothing and the frames are jumping like hell.

    ArmA II's infinite land

This screens definitely look better than the spooky green, graveyard green infinite land from 1.01 :D
  9. You already got it. When you have to play it on maximum details, it's your fault. No one guarenteed you can play it on everything maxed out. I got a gtx280 and a Q9550 @ 3,75Ghz and it's very playable. My settings: View distance: 3000 Fillrate: 100% Resolution: 1920*1080 Textures: Very High Anisotropic Filtering: Very High Landscape: Low Objectdetail: Very Low Shadows: Normal Postprocessing: Very High

    patch 1.02 suggestions

Right Exactly Yes I agree these points =)
  11. Arma 2 runs fine on my PC, when I set everything to very high, only landscape to low and objectdetail to ver low I got 60 fps everywhere except for bigger cities, there it's around 50fps and it looks awesome cause landscape detail and objectdetail don't really change the optic that much. But I have a friend with a very good compupter and he has always 30fps in the game (first I said multiplayer but he has it in the whole game). Its a framelock, it's like vsync with 30 fps instead of 60. When he sets everything to very high and maxed out he got around 20fps but everything on low gives him 30 again. Precise 30 fps all the time. Hope someone got a solution for it. His OS is Windows7 (32bit) and also tested on Windows XP (32bit). Plz help =)

    30 Fps Framelock Multiplayer ?

Ok I talked to him yesterday and he got over the 30fps and it seems that it only happens in games in whcih AI is involved. I can notice this, too. When I start a round on Coop Evolution first it runs with 50-60fps and after an hour it never goes over 30/40 depending on the viewdistance... Does the AI eat that much performance ? This happens when creating an own server or playing on a server somewhere else. I thought when I play on a server the server does calculate the AI, doesn't it ? When my computer has to calculate the AI even when playing on other servers that would explain it. Otherwise the framerate of the server is strongly connected to the one that players have on that server...
  13. My results are a little bit low, aren't they ? System in Signature.

    30 Fps Framelock Multiplayer ?

Someone else with the same problem of maximum 30fps ?
  15. I haven't read the whole thread but what you describe in the first post is the same like when you're standing near a tree. It only happens on the shadow side. Like with the house, looking into the direction of the sun. It's the HDR that does this framedrop. With a setting in the menu to disable HDR I think it would be a lot better. But they have to patch such a setting into the game. There's Kegetys mod but it doesn't disable it, it just lays a new mask on the screen and Arma2 calculates the HDR although.

    Horrible Graphics/FPS

I like the high postprocessing it makes it more realistic if you look at things near you and i don't look at shadows that much but that's a matter of taste... I made a comparison for you with the settings which I though meet your demands the best ;-) The first screen is with my settings (52 Fps), the 2nd without postprocessing, better shadows and better vegetation like you wantet it (44Fps), the 3rd has landscape and objects at very high (28Fps). http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/2256/armavergleich.gif So you could play with best looking settings at good performance even in big cities (screens at Electrozavodsk, in smaller towns performance will be better 50-60 fps), because objectdetail from normal to very high or landsacpe from low to very high doesn't make any difference except for 3 meters more grass and loosing a lot of performance. greetz Cionara

    Horrible Graphics/FPS

I have a Q9550 Quadcore to @ 3,8Ghz combined with 4GB Ram and a GTX280 and always have 50-60Fps with amazing graphics. I can give you the advice, first turn the fillrate down to 100%, 150% isn't neccessary and kills performance, then turn Objectdetail to very low/normal and landscape to low because it doesn't make a difference in the look but my fps improved from 28 to 60 all the time. And using the startparameter -winxp gave me 5fps. And I have no patience for the people who want to play with everything on very high, fillrate 200% even if it doesn't make a difference (objectdetail and landscapedetail to very low/low, just try it) and then they cry about bad FPS. Also on 100% fillrate it will be sharp as it could be, 150% will only round up the edges a little little bit and cost a lot of performance. Here's a little comparison with the landscape-details: http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/4457/arma22009061019305532.gif My Settings: 1920'1080 Fillrate 100% Objectdetail: very low LandsacpedetaiL: low Shadows: Normal Rest is very high. Like I said i always have 50-60fps even in the big cities. Made some screens of my graphics yesterday; They're even looking better but had to lower the quality because of the forum rules.

    ArmaHolic ArmA 2 Optimization

With maxmem I get random crashes. But the -winxp gave me 5 Fps more all the time. Thanks for the help. WIth evertything on very high, only landscape and objectdetail on low I got 60 frames even in the big cities that's amazing :D I got a question. What does the shading detail change ? Also I made a Comparison between different settings: The first screen is with my settings with 52 Fps, the 2nd without postprocessing(low), better shadows (high) and better vegetation (objectdetail=normal) with 44Fps, the 3rd has landscape and objects at very high (28Fps). http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/2256/armavergleich.gif So you could play with best looking settings even in big cities with good performance (screens at Electrozavodsk, in smaller towns performance will be better), and I can't recommend all settings on very high like you can see on the last screen because there's no difference but loosing a lot of performance. greetz Cionara

    30 Fps Framelock Multiplayer ?

Ok but that ain't cool cause he has a computer and not a 360 ^^ He got an ATI graphics card. And as far as I know the Xbox360, too. Maybe there's something wrong in the code there =/ I mean, Xbox360 ATI, 30fps framelock. And my friend PC ATI 30 Fps framelock.

    VopSound 2.1

The GAU-8 Sound gives me cracking noise when firing more than a single shot. A single shot is like : ratatat and when I keep firing it's like ratatat*crack*ratatat*crack*ratatat You know what I mean ? I think it's always when the sound is played again to continue. Otherwise the mod is great but that cracking noise is very annoying ^^

    Su-34: No sound in cockpit?

Yep confirmed. Asked the same question some time before :D But got a soundmod installed and there are sounds for the Su-34, so that's cool.

    ArmAII-Mark

After applying sound-hardware acceleration and setting my rendersize to the size of my resolution in the config I now get 5842 points :D that's awesome, maybe I'll break the 6000 ^.^ next Don't forget that my cpu is overcloked to 3,71 Ghz (normally 2,83Ghz). Also my GTX280 is.

  25. I tested some more and it's only when you are looking in the direction of the sun trough a tree. Not when looking directly into it because then it only renders the sky what of course doesn't take any performance. Looking at the tree to the opposite direction of the sun (60 Fps): http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/5124/arma22009060701283953.png Looking at the tree to the direction of the sun (45 Fps): http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/7262/arma22009060701285534.png
