  1. Second that. I would go for sprocket, directly from the developers and no possible problems with trying to get addons to work when having the steam version etc. Hope you can get your money back. And otherwise, I think you'll have to re-download the corrupted file, because it sounds as if a .bin file has an error. :(
  2. I don't get how you put your heels on the floor on the saitek pedals:
  3. Good to hear it's all fixed now! Enjoy the beta :)
  4. x2 I can fly with stick + pedals in expert. It's sometimes hard, but it's possible
  5. You need all the .bin files and the setup.exe. When you run setup.exe it will use the data from the .bin files to install. All files should be in the same folder. I also advise to contact simware. EDIT: you posted at the same time. ---------- Post added at 12:40 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:37 PM ---------- This is what sprocket gives me for download: TKOH_Pre-Order_Beta.exe TKOH_Pre-Order_Beta01.bin TKOH_Pre-Order_Beta02.bin TKOH_Pre-Order_Beta03.bin TKOH_Pre-Order_Beta04.bin TKOH_Pre-Order_Beta05.bin So yeah, maybe one of your six files should be renamed to .exe because it should be six in total.
  6. As far as I know CH Products is, in general, considered as a manufacturer which builds products which last for ages. Top notch quality and as far as I know most of the testimonials praise CH Products. I recently bought the CH Pro pedals for TKOH, I don't regret it so far (they auto center btw). The others pedals might be good too, I don't know. Also search some sim forums for experiences like those of the DCS series, Simhq etc.

    Ghost Recon: Podagorsk

Nice, I was just searching for this campaign and just stumbled on your today's update on the progress :)
  8. I'm also unable to drop the interface items into the second screen. The game is only running on screen #1.
  9. If you are in the mission select screen you can click on the difficulty name for example "beginner" and it toggles to the next difficulty level. When you start the mission it will be in the difficulty selected in the mission screen. Also, to check which difficulty you fly you can press Esc in-game and the difficulty will be shown at the bottom of the pause menu. And yeah, you can tinker with specific difficulty settings for every category in the game options menu.
  10. While we're at it, it would also be nice to always have the map available on a 2nd screen :)
  11. I see. It's also in the ION mission (if you enter SUV) btw, but didn't know it was ok in free flight :)
  12. Btw, you should activate the interaction menu by scrolling your mouse wheel, not right mouse button (yes, I also saw it posted somewhere, but it's not how it works normally). So scroll your mouse wheel en then look at the chopper controls and a new option in het action menu should appear (get in chopper as pilot or something). There is a bug though that if you switch vehicles you cannot get back in the previous one.
  13. Try trainee, see if that resembles your experiences with the CP. Because it sounds like you just have to re-learn with the more advanced flight model and without any aides like auto-trim. Could also be an error/bug, but it sounds more like user error atm. So I'd advise to compare with trainee difficulty first.

    CD Version

Let's hope, for the DVD enthusiasts, that it's not the same as with the Arma 2 release (no retail availability for weeks).
  15. Also check you difficulty settings. In the beta you might be using harder difficulty (expert) compared to how you played in the preview (some difficulty settings didn't even work right in preview if if i remember correctly).

    Military Missins

I think there is nothing to worry. The editor has endless possibilities, there will be military style missions in release (maybe just ass&trash) and you can bet that there will be nice military addons from the community. With BIS & the community background we can guarantee you that TKOH will also have or get a military side ;)
  17. Can you post a screenshot of your video settings? Just in general: view distance and object distance are very heavy on any system. Make sure you do not maximize those settings. Video memory should be set to Default. Also, like mentioned before, CPU is one of the most important parts for this engine, especially the clock speed. Btw, an FPS just under 30 is fine right? I usually have FPS of about 15~20 and it's still fluent.
  18. I have also problems when the mission start with a flying helicopter. The problem for me is that once the mission starts the current input of my throttle (collective) is not recognized. So I have to move the throttle up and down and than it kicks in (usually the helo starts to descend quickly). I continue to add collective until the heli stops descending. It's always a bit of a battle the first 5 or 8 seconds, with also some right rolling tendency you describe. Are you using a throttle?
  19. And you are not satisfied with those speeds
  20. Take On Characters: http://takeonthegame.com/take-on-character/#
  21. I think it's their internal revision version (not public). Just to know in which version a bug has been squashed.
  22. 1. I assume the maximum player count is, like arma, more or less only restricted by the capacity of the server hardware (and the mission maker). There never has been any forced player limit afaik. 2. In arma there are possibilities to have a persistant world and missions which just keep on going while new missions are generated on the fly. But this is, afaik, mostly (if not all) community made. Coop is supported, also with multiple helicopters for a mission (was mentioned somewhere). 3. It has been confirmed that you can fly as co-pilot and pilot/co-pilot can hands each other the controls. In the beta it's already possible to change vehicles/helicopters (although sometimes buggy). So I would say yes, it will be possible.
  23. When you have to slingload cargo etc. you have to be exactly at the right spot above the cargo. An error of a few centimeters causes problems to attach the cargo in the game because the attach bar won't start loading. Once you've triggered it you have a bit more leeway. I've been hovering countless of times right above the cargo, but it seems to be just a few centimeters wrong and then the sling doesn't get activated. Normally someone on the ground might give you directions as to where you need to go to be exactly at the right spot to pick it up (I guess). In the game this is not the case and the markers on the GPS are not accurate enough. I think it would be nice to have a visual aid to help you to the exact location for the cargo to be attached. I've posted an example below. The center of the crosshair is the helicopter, the blue dot is the exact location of the cargo, the aid is very precise and sensitive and only activate for example 2 or 3 meters away from the cargo. Or some kind of aid can be added to the instrument left from the example. Added to the issue tracker, if you're interested in such a feature, please vote for the issue: http://dev-heaven.net/issues/25301 Or something like this: Or this:
  24. I was wondering, do you guys use auto-hover? I'm refusing to use it cause I think it's something I need to learn by controlling the helicopter myself and it's too much an artificial aid for me. So, what do you do?

    A few questions on TOH

I only know the answer to the 2nd question: yeah, it's a bug. Somehow if you enter a different vehicle you cannot re-enter your own vehicle. It has been reported via the tracker. Other questions I don't know.
