  1. Oh yes, IE6 is still used. But I don't think many private users, but more "corporate" users like libraries who still rely on certain IE6 scripts and public computers with infrastructure that is not easily changed and still rely on IE6 for certain things. I'm speaking from experience with a few jobs I had before.
  2. Sprocket > Account Maintenance > Download link of TKOH PRE-ORDER in you games list PS. My speed is also good 1.2MB/s (my maximum connection speed).
  3. You're lying :butbut: Edit; nevermind, it's available here too!
  4. Different distribution platforms, different technical details.
  5. Cool, thanks for the updates Maruk :)

    take on helicopter ita

I think it depends on distributor and country. Arma 2 was not directly available in retail stores in my country for example.
  7. It has nothing to do with being a real or fictional map. It has to do with the size, amount of objects etc. The current size (60km x 60km or 120km x 120km) on Arma 2 quality will not happen. Smaller maps can of course be more detailed, just like flying the community preview on the arma 2 maps :)
  8. It would be nice, but I think it's much more logical for BIS to only add it to Arma 3. It will cost money and resources to put it into Arma 2, which is already and "old" game. It makes more sense to add it only to Arma 3 imo. Also an extra incentive to buy the game and a new feature which you can advertise with.

    Just pre-ordered today!

The flight model is much more advanced compared to arma 2. And there are environmental influences like wind, turbulence etc.
  10. lol. You finally get a Helicopter game, and what are you gonna do? Play Arma with it :D

    Boxed Version

Although I think you will need a one-time internet connection for product activation via Securom authentication servers. And yes, Maruk (or someone else) confirmed somewhere on the forums that eventually they will patch out the DRM few months(?) after release, just like the Arma series.

    Any forms of GPS?

And it zooms automatically depending on your speed. The faster you're going, the bigger the map. When you go slow you will zoom in.
  13. I think the issue of OP is because the throttle has not been assigned to the analogue collective.
  14. As far as I know it means that the stick doesn't "move" like most sticks. Instead input is based on the amount of pressure being exerted on the stick and the pressure is translated into axis movement in-game. At least that's what I read, never tried it myself :)

    ToH Tower House

You might want to add the coordinates of the screenshots posted in the issue BeePee :)
  16. That's all good xman. But my freetrack works great with no noticeable lag or anything. Runs at 30fps with 640x480 resolution. Absolutely no problems at all. TrackIR might have better specs, and might be better (hell yeah, you pay $200 for it), but I have absolutely no complaints about Freetrack and it works as it should. So as long as it works good and does it's job I don't understand why Freetrack cannot be a good alternative. It all comes down to on how much you can (and want) to spend on headtracking. I don't agree that Freetrack is not a good alternative for TrackIR. Any way, maybe we should get back to the HOTAS discussion from the OP :D
  17. Freetrack works very well and is also very accurate. Sure, you have to build your own tracking device, which of course is a big hassle (for most), but the software + webcam works very well :) TrackIR is overpriced really, it goes on sale here for 150 euro ($206). Using Freetrack it costs about 25 euro ($35). I don't think that's getting what you pay for if you get TrackIR ;) I do understand that the easiest way is just get it all working out of the box though.
  18. I'm sorry that you spend money on a product you don't like. Clearly it doesn't suite you. All I can say is goodbye and enjoy other games, instead of wasting your time on TKOH and these forums. There are enough other games out there. Bye.
  19. I like Saitek. For example the Saitek X52 Pro with some pedals (from saitek, CH products or other brand). But I cannot compare it to other sticks, so yeah. Also, this is a nice article, it's about most HOTAS configs (logitech, saitek, thrustmaster etc): http://simhq.com/_technology2/technology_094a.html

Take On Video Settings! - Discuss

Nice setup post (the locked one), RiE. It's some extra motivation to look at the graphics settings again, and actually think about what you want from the visuals in terms of visibility, detail etc ;)
  21. Now only wait for the GPS to be available on second screen so we can make it really big without interfering with our actual view :D
  22. double tab left alt key (now your mouse will be used for freelook and not for controlling the helicopter). I believe you can also set something in the options menu like freelook disabled, enabled and some 3rd option. So you can set something there that the mouse will always be freelook iirc.
  23. Yes I sometimes have the same problem. And like badweather, auto-hover was accidentally activated every time. So be sure to check if it's disabled.
  24. Maybe I shouldn't tell you this, but when the game is released you have to re-download the full game, ~20GB (iirc you cannot upgrade the beta installation). So I'm afraid you might have a good chance to run into these kind of issues again once it's the end of october  If simware doesn't change it's delivery style/method of course. Maybe it's still possible to consider a refund. Or not. Up to you of course, and simware's policy as well.
  25. Yes, I hope they buy/rent some extra resources for the first few days on launch, with extra mirrors and hopefully even a pre-load a few days before release.
