yes, I wanted to request this since the beta, but forgot about it. Like with black shark with this little red square showing all the current control input.

Very simple. Just install the program and set up a profile. To enable Freetrack or Trackir you must start take on helicopters > options > controllers (or something like that) and click on either trackir or freetrack and press the enable button.

I love them! It increases the realism and also demands more from you because you have to work with you feet as well. It's different compared to only using your both hands (for throttle + joystick/twist). When I first got my pedals it was almost learning it all over again. I never knew how much I was actually "automatically" twisting the stick when flying in heli sims. I never knew that until I got the pedals and had to work with my feet. I also have a lot more accuracy with pedals, because sometimes it's hard to not move the joystick while twisting, even if it is just a very little movement. I really like them :)

Try right mouse click on the demo in the gamelist and click properties. And then click a button which is something like "verify integrity of local files" (maybe you have to go to a different tab first, but it's somewhere in the properties setting). Now Steam will check if there have been errors in the download and re-download any corrupt files.

I hope this is still considered for posting in this section because FreeTrack is "officially" supported for ArmA 2. Otherwise, I'm sorry for mis-posting mods :) When the FreeTrack software is running (tracking or not tracking, doesn't matter) I get the following crash at launch (from the RPT file): Without the FreeTrack software it runs well, and when I launch the software after I've launched ArmA 2 the game keeps running. But about every minute I get thrown to desktop and the FreeTrack software is visibile one milisecond. Then I need to click ArmA in the taskbar again to go back in game. This keeps happening every time.

It depends, as long as you're not planning on playing with 20 people it would be OK I guess. I played a few Arma 2 co-op missions with ~10 people from a home connection without a problem.

I use the Saitek X52 Pro with CH Pro Pedals. There currently are some issues with the Flight Model, but it's still flyable on expert with those controls (hover is very hard though). If you only use kb/mouse you should not put it on expert, but on an easier setting. All in all it's flyable with my setup. Although the right roll etc. is irritating. But it's being worked on :)

I don't understand how a real pilot could make such a statement. If you're seriously suggesting that you would be satisfied with the Arma 2 flight model in a helicopter game/simulator I almost cannot believe you fly helicopters in real life. Sorry. No, I think you cannot and never will be. There was even this scandal a few months back here in the Netherlands with a respected company that issued the security certificates for government websites. Turned out that the company was hacked a few months before and that Iranian hackers compromised part of their certificates or their algorithm (I'm no expert). Because the company kept it's mouth shut these risk certificates were even used on official government websites to protect sensitive data about civilians (IRS information etc) and to secure online identities (most government things can be done here online with one single digital signature to identify yourself online).

I think you need to be a bit more specific about your personal preferences. Do you like flying helicopters, or do you normally fly fixed wing only? What are you looking for? I mean: type of missions, level of immersion, levels of realism (FM or also avionics etc). Stuff like that.

So who's going to make a single contract to fly a sight seeing tour with a tourist on board for $1,000,000,000? :D j/k. The hard work is usually the most fun. I don't want to win TKOH lottery that way.

Did you patch the game during the campaign? Is the POV still working in other missions?
