I second that. For me, multiplay is the soul of ArmA and a broken VON implementation kills the immersion totally. Teamspeak may work, but compared to a good In-Game VON, it is more an immersion killer. ArmA 1 VON works perfectly fine, at least from what i experienced so far. How hard could it be to fix the VON Issues in ARMA 2. Please Devs, ArmA 2 has at least as much potential as ArmA1, fix the issues first (VON being #1 on the List), then go for Expansion Packs. Apart from that, it's a great Game.

No. I just tried it and there is no option for it. The language stays german. I also would like to change to english, because the german translation is one of the crappiest i ever saw in a game. I had to deactivate the german subtitles because it can be quite distracting sometimes when the subtitles tell you things that the NPC does not say.

Anyone know anything about the languages in the game?

As far as i remember: Originally, Arma1 was german only and the english language was included in some patch. I second what DaveP said about this. -
Hi, when using the VON Feature in Multiplayer Games i often have loud digital Screeching noises. If you ever put a Game CD into an Audio-CD player, you'll get the idea what i mean. A friend opened a server, i joined, and as soon as one of us pushed the "Push-to-Talk" key, the screeching noise appeared in the receivers headset. Using VON in ArmA 1 Multiplayer works perfectly fine as does TeamSpeak. It seems to appear mostly when using the "Direct Communication" Channel and the Noise fades, but never stops, when the players move away from each other. Anybody notice that, too? I have a Realtek HD Audio Chip on Board, with ALC889A Audio Codec and using the latest official Driver. ------------------------------------------------------- Vista32 SP2 Intel Core2Duo E8400 3,0GHz 2GB Ram 8800 GT 1024MB -------------------------------------------------------

After the Patch, the performance on my System improved noticeably. What i discovered is that, if i force VSync "On" for ArmA II in the Nvidia Driver, then the aiming is more precise, the Mouse Movement seems to be more "direct." Then, using a Logitech MX1000 Mouse, i disabled "Mouse Acceleration" in the Logitech Software and it improved even more. Without Mouse Accel. and with VSync On, the aiming feels much more direct.

Arma 2 & Vista, not working for me at all
Yankee66 replied to Dancer's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
It works fine on my Vista32 SP2 System, so i think it's not Vista itself that causes it. My brother had a similar error and had to disable Virtual (like from Alcohol or Daemon Tools Software) DVD-Drives, after that it worked perfectly. He has Vista32 SP1. It seems that the SecuRom version has issues with external drives. I read in another Forum that someone had Problems due to an external DVD-Drive and hat to unplug it. Maybe you could search in that direction or try WinXP Compatibility Mode? -
ArmA II release date discussion thread

I found a preview of the 505 Press launch in London. It says: So no english language in the first german release. I am german, but i will wait until the international release because U.S. Forces talking in german is not too immersive for me. A real pity that i have to wait so much longer. ;)
