I think if your hit in the head its death on impact but if your shot in the leg other players can treat your wound and get you back in the fight. It may be that only some units are able to perform medical treatment though, at least thats what Igathered from one of the videos I watched.

ArmedA2 Editing/modding similar to ArmedA1?

a week ago game listed a £44.99 price tag then I checked 2 days ago and it went top £39.99 now I just checked and its been taken off the pre order list. Think its a mistake as they updated the list with new games like Aliens colonial wars and just left it off by mistake. Operation flashpoint 2 Dragon Rising is no. 4 on the pre order list where as it was number 14 and Arma 2 used to be No. 6 on the list but now its gone. Last thing it said was 42 days until release. -

How does the map making process work. do you just drag a hose for instance onto the map? Do you get catogerys where you have a list of buildings to use or do you have to construct the buildings yourself? Is there alot of learing to do it or is it pick up and play mostly? -
G36 dual sights and correct optical sight reticle pattern

Hi I may be completly wrong but on the arma 2 website it has 4 varients of the G36. G36, G36C, G36C-SD, G36K The G36k has a scope, G36c + G36c-sd have a red dot by the looks of tings so Im guesing the G36 is just an ironsight. But having never played the original arma I have no idea how your weapon selection is. Weather you have to choose one of the above variants or you choose the gun then start equiping things like supresors and scopes etc. -
Cheers again Dslecxi for your reply. Im glad people like yourself take the time to put reviews like this up. not only is it a good review but it actually shows some good footage of the game (which is the best footage Ive seen of it detail looks great). I think not ever used the hardware that if you can afford it its a nice extra feature and I can see it could definatly help in the game play especialy sniping as you dont have to move your body to look around like you said. The amount of times in games I notice people hiding in bushes because ther upper torso is twisting and waving a gun out the bush (then called a "wallhacking cheater how did you see me" followed by a swift you have been baned from server screen):D If Im honest when I first joind the forum I wasnt convinced about this game but the more I see of it the more interested Ive become.

Hi, thanks for a great link and an even better reveiw of this headset. Things like this I would never had known were available. Quick question if I may, as an infantryman does the head movement only work horizontaly and as a pilot work horizontaly + verticly? I did notice when you started shooting at teh enemy runing down the road they just kept running at you and didnt drop to the floor or dart off somewhere or fire back. edit - I just showed the footage to a friend and she mentiond that as she wears glasses it might not work aswel as teh view isnt as clear if you turn your head. Any glasses wearing people have any feedback on teh ease of use of the product.

I think if I jet comes shooting over your head at insane low altitude then a small screen shake maybe even a very slight blur would be good, but I agree standing next to a tank thats moving shouldnt result in a shake or blur effect. In all fairness though I think alot of people are letting their imagination take over. Not much has actually been shown on the game so we have to just wait and see. The more hype there is the more disapointed you will be.

Hi, 1st post and relativly new to this game. Only found about it as it was in teh pre order section of a website. I have tried searching for the awnsers to these questions but cant find any awnser. The questions are aimed at teh pc version. 1. Has the recomended system spec (pc) been made public yet, if so what is it. 2. Does anyone know or heard rumors of the acuracy of the weapons as I get very frustrated when the cross hairs are on but the bulletts are flying all over the place. 3. The RPG element, does that meen you will earn xp or similare the more you use weapons which unlock other weapons and armors etc? 4. Do you customise your chracter (face, clothers, sex etc) Feel free to go off topic and discuss stuff as the more I find out about the game the better. Cheers

Questions on spec, multiplayer + weapon acuracy
chrismvts replied to chrismvts's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
The only thing that worries me is there has been no videos showing any combat between soldiers. The only footsge I saw had a slow motion effect on it then the enemy died but the other four enemy didnt react to it, just stood there. -

cheers for awnsering the questions and posting the link. Was the video a coop against AI or other players? Im not sure what they were all fireing at but the game does look very team/ sqad based which is great. Think its just finding a nice group of people to play with which might be hard, but saying that the game seems more suited for the more mature player. I just downloaded ArmA 1 but It wont work. Im guessing its because I have windows vista 64. -

Is the armor you wear dependant on the weapon you pick? for instance can I equip an mp5sd and still use the guile suit? Or does armor depend on the faction your fighting for (if you have to choose faction that is). You can tell I dont know much about this game, it does seem though that alot of info is based on what the 1st Arma was about and not because what has been confirmed on the 2nd. Ive noticed theres alot of video footage for this game but theres no actual firefight footage. Are there long periods where your just walking somonewhere with no enemys to engage? I watched a video somwhere that said you can talk to an npc and get a helicopter lift into the contact zone. Does this work like a world of warcraft flight path just with helicopters not dragons (although by the sounds of it thats just a mod waiting to happen :p) Could this game be described as being like Soldner secret wars (if anyones played it) -

Thanks for all the replys, you have definatly helped me build a picture in my head of what type of game it is. I never played arma so in my head its a Battlefield/ S.T.A.L.K.E.R type of game but more open fighting area like Soldner Secret Wars (if anyones old enough to remember that game). Litos - I bought a dual core recently because games ran better on them as they wernt optimised for quad core. Im guessing games will start to utilise the quad core more and more but Im sure your dual core will be fine. I think your dual core is faster than some quad cores that are on the market. I have a Dual e8600 with 8gb RAM and a Nvidea 9800GTX graphics card so Im sure it will work fine. Just remembered somthing else I was going to ask. I read somwhere that theres a mission where you take the role of a wild bore or somthing along those lines, was this a joke or a mod or sothing as I find it hard to beleive that a war simulator whould have somthing like that :D
