Website: www.15thMEU.net Contact Email: admin@15thMEU.net INTRODUCTION Greetings to all who read this. I am GySgt Buckhana from the 15th MEU Realism Unit. If you're tired of groups or MEU units that don't make the cut after a couple months, then you should check us out. If you want a rank structure that doesn't promote because you were on the Captain's good side, then check us out. If you don't want a group with 7 Generals, 8 Lieutenants and 3 Privates, check us out. We take pride in our realistic atmosphere and trainings while not sacrificing the fun of the game and being in a group. Our unit was born on June 21, 2007 in Armed Assault: Combat Operations and has around 30 members active at the moment. With personnel in reserve status, it is about 40. We usually do CoOp missions. We are currently about to go onto deployment in an Operation named: Operation Radiant Arrow. What happens in a previous mission affects the next mission. Just like a real MEU, we earned our Special Operations Capable (SOC) designation before going onto deployment instead of just throwing it on like many units like to do. WRDRCfJBsv8 What You Will Find In the 15th MEU (SOC) * Access to two Armed Assault servers running on Art of War Dedicated Servers. One public server provides a great place to relax and play and recruit new members. One locked server running 15th MEU specific training maps provides the stomping grounds for realistic training and serious play. * A Teamspeak 3 voice server. * Active members and Staff who work to keep all members and new joins interested and engaged. Weekly unit training events get all elements of the unit together to train. Light Training events throughout the week focus on the individual elements. * A focused and in depth basic training course to acquaint new recruits with the structure of the 15th, SOPs, Chain of Command and basic infantry skills. Once passing basic and earning the rank of Private, Hospitalman Recruit, or Student Naval Pilot, members will be assigned to a team or flight school for further specialized training. * Opportunities for continued training and advancement. Infantry leadership courses for Fireteam Leaders, Squad Leaders. Officer Training Courses for Enlisted members to train into command roles. Active promotion schedules. * A sharp and professional website with active posting and a handy calendar to keep track of events. A Squad XML roster that is updated diligently, found at http://www.15thmeu.net/squad/squad.xml * Friendly help with training in game, and also with out of game issues. We're here for ya. * And most of all, a fun group to kick back and enjoy a great game with. No crazy requirements or ridiculous mandates for belonging, just some simple courtesies and respect all around. Awesome can not wait! Thanks for all the hard work you're putting into this. :) -
Important News Just a quick update. We have shutdown our ventrillo server and moved to a Teamspeak 3 server. The information can be found in the first post. Also, we have adopted the Advanced Combat Radio Environment (ACRE) mod for use in our public and private missions. To help with the transition, we have added a resource button at the top of our website forums to speed up the process in playing games with us. Operation Emerald Beacon is still ongoing and we are still posting videos of it from both BluFor and OpFor perspectives as usual. There is a playlist for the operation now on our youtube page.

What is wrong with the ARMA Community!
Blade89 replied to SSgt Decker's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
From what it sounds like (actually reads like..), you already have a group of friends that you play with regularly. Do you guys have a regular play time or do you post on these forums when you do play them? I don't think it will go back to the way it was in OFP AVIBIRD1 but I don't think you should stop doing the user made coop missions. I know the group I'm in (yes a realism unit) has quite a few people in it that grab different mods and addons made by the community and different missions and play them regularly during the week. There's no set time but it's usually in the afternoon after people finish work, school, etc. You and your friends are welcome to hop on our vent or forums and try and get something going. So long as you're willing to work as a team. :) This probably won't substitute for what you're trying to do but I figure it's better than nothing. -

Those look awesome. Can't wait to ride around in them if you do decide to port them over. Are they also getting the ability to open and close doors? -

Question: Are you going to be making different variants for the M-ATV? MK-19, Troop Transport, etc. -
Howdy, Just wanted to say great job on the M-ATV so far. Really liking the look of it. Drove it around a bit and did what I could with it in a few missions and am loving it. We use your HMMWV's in our Unit's missions and a lot of us like those a lot so keep up the great work. :) Can't wait to see the M-ATV finish.

A.C.R.E - Advanced Combat Radio Environment - 1.2 Stable (TS3 pre) - Release Thread
Blade89 replied to jaynus's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Problem solved: I ran ARMA 2: CO without launching steam and that fixed it. I replaced my _runA2CO.cmd contents with this: set a2path=C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 set a2oapath="C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead" set acemods=@ACE;@ACEX;@ACEX_SM;@CBA;@ACEX_RU;@ACEX_US Navy %a2oapath%\ArmA2OA.exe "-mod=%a2path%;EXPANSION;ca;%acemods%" Mod lines in the proper place and what not of course. -

No go. I'm using the Steam version of Combined Ops. The "run as admin" thing worked before when I was running an older version of ACRE. That fixed it then. Don't know what changed in ACRE or TS3 but that trick doesn't seem to be enough solve it now, ha. If I find a fix I'll let you know. :) Thanks for the quick response. -

Quick question: I've got the: "ACRE not connected to Teamspeak" error, BUT I can't seem to make it go away. I've tried: - Manually installing the 64 bit version of ACRE - Using the 64 bit installer. - Uninstalling everything (3 times) and reinstalling ACRE and Teamspeak - Running Teamspeak as admin and ARMA as admin - Running ARMA regular without admin - Connecting to the TS3 server after launching ARMA - Connecting to the TS3 server after connecting to a server - Restarting TS3 in game - ACRE plug in is enabled. I've tried a lot but still it refuses to connect. :\ -

It's been a while since we updated. A lot of stuff has happened. The 15th and Arrowhead First off, we are officially moved into Combined Operations as a unit. We even made a promotion video which is posted on the first page. We would like to take the opportunity to thank the following creators of this content: Addons Used: ANZIS Weapons Desert Marines A-Stan Marines Desert Vehicles ARMA 2 Operation Arrowhead ZEUS A.I. They all helped with the creation of the video with the creation of their content. Operation Rapid Justice We started an operation back in mid August and it will be finishing up this month of September. It's an operation in Chernarus but Takistan is next and planned for the month of October or November. Misc Our very own 2ndLt Phillips and Capt Charlin have worked on an addon to help with deploying on the water. They have spent a few months on it and it's finally ready to go. More details to come along with videos of the deployment.

It's all about your patience and finding that group of people to help you have a great time in the game. Luckily, you found the BI forums. You can post and find people to play games with. There are many types of games to play from RPG's to Super-Ultra Realistic. So find your niche in the game with a group of similar minded players (whether it be playing a medic, rifleman, transport, etc) and you will find that those things that used to piss you off about the game don't really bother you anymore.

It has been a while since we last updated. We are still alive and strong however. :) Server News: We are currently running servers both in ArmA 2 and ARMA2: Combined Operations. Operations: We have recently completed CAX(Combined Arms Exercise) 05-10 and 06-10(5th and 6th CAXs of year 2010). Videos of 06-10 are still being compiled. Here is the video from 05-10: mO721nAHF1Q Logistics: We are preparing for a unit wide movement from ArmA 2 to ArmA 2: Combined Operations. This move is scheduled for September 1st, 2010. Recruiting: We have recently frozen many billets(heavy armor and pilots) in the unit to bring our infantry component back up to full strength. Currently open billets are rifle platoon infantry, weapons platoon infantry, LAR Scouts and crewman, AAV crewmen, and combat engineers. See the specific list of openings here. Question: Is there a way to use it with the Steam version of Combined Operations? I've tried setting it to the _runA2CO.cmd but it doesn't work. It just runs OA. I'm just trying to find a way to get it to run Combined Ops. It works fine with ARMA 2 and ARMA 2: OA but I can't quite figure out how to put them together. -
If you listen for it, you can hear it but when I'm playing a mission, all I hear is the DDS. The 2 play so close together I don't even notice it most of the time. When I do notice it though, it sounds kinda cool. So basically, to give you a picture, I hear Chammy's for weapons, Tango's for vehicles, and DDS for the echo's of weapon sounds.
-
I'm liking this mod a lot. I'm running it with Chammy's and Tango Romeo's and it works brilliantly. I also used it while running ACE and it ran fine. Can't wait for Takistan and the other OA maps to get included (if you are doing them). Keep up the great work. :)

ARMA2 & OA's Steam Thread: All Steam Q's/discussions go here [covered by Dwarden]
Blade89 replied to gimpymoo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Hey guys. I have ARMA 2 and bought Operation Arrowhead when it came out. I followed the instructions stickied on these forums to get the two of them together into Combined Operations. However, when I launch CO, 2 things happen: - Under expansions, ARMA 2 shows unchecked/disabled and I can not enable it BUT it is enabled. - It sees no other mods other than Arrowhead and ARMA 2. When I launch with just Arrowhead however, it sees all mods except ARMA 2. I have ARMA 2 updated to 1.07 and Arrowhead to 1.52. Both are on Steam. Any help? -
Howdy all. Just a small update to the quick update. Server News: In an effort to try something different than our normal routine, we're going to start using missions built in-house for our public servers. So Domination is going to be taking a break. With these missions, we hope to introduce public players to how our unit operates and uses it's sections and hopefully give a fun and realistic experience with lot's of teamwork. Our first "theme" is Light Armored Reconnaissance and Tanks. We have a couple missions ready to go and if you wish to play them, stop on by our ventrilo today, April 3rd, 2010 @1900 U.S. CST (7:00 pm U.S. CST) and we will help you find our server. Although, you can just search "15th" in the browsers and you'll find our servers. If you miss this chance, do not worry as we'll have many more and we will be rotating these missions in and out all week. Operations US SOCOM has approached us with the possibility of doing a joint combined arms exercise with them this month of April. We are in the midst of setting it up now. Expect videos and pictures. Recruiting Currently, we are looking to recruit mostly (but not only) Rifle Platoon Infantry, LAR Scouts and Crewmen, and AAV Crewmen. If none of these billets interest you, check our website for other roles that you may take up. Logistics Finally, we are proud to announce the opening of the Supporting Arms Liaison Team. With this opening brings a new MOS joining our list of billets: 0861 Fire Support Man Mission: They are the forward observers and forward air controllers coordinating air assets with the ground force commander.

Mando Missile ArmA for ArmA 2
Blade89 replied to mandoble's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Greetings Mandoble. I'm having a problem with the addon version. I turn on ACE mod and put in the "ACE MMA" game logic into the editor. I also have the following files: -MMA_XEH_AutoLaunch -mando_missiles -mu90 They're all under a different mod folder name than how they came(Mod folder name is Mods). I remember with a couple of addons before, it mattered that they stayed in the folder they came in. Was wondering if that's the case for yours as well. If it is, then that may solve my problem. Anywho, I put down the 1 apache variant and all the cobra variants (Whiskey's and Zulu's) and try and get in the pilot seat and gunner seat to try and launch hellfires. However, the cobra's hellfires are always zero on start and I can never re-arm them with the MMA Rearm. In one Cobra, I can't even get the hellfire camera to show in the scroll menu. Apache works fine, but I can't change the loadouts on either birds. In the MMA Rearm, it just gives me a loud beep when I select a loadout and click change and when I select the different missiles or loads, they won't highlight at all. With ACE mod off, it works fine. I tried the scripted version of Mando's Missiles as well and the exact same error occurs (in ACE anyways). I'm also going to see if the ACE mod guys can help me out as well but I wanted to know if you may be able to help. :) Also, it seems to only be an error with me as my friends can use their hellfires and stuff just fine in ACE mod. -
which addons do you feel are essential?
Blade89 replied to andromedagalaxe's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
I use: Chammy's Sound Mod ZEUS A.I. Tango Romeo's Sound Mod Pack ACE 2 I suggest all 4 of these. Hope this helps. :)
